Okay the (hopefully) last thing I am going to say about this: The mistranslation and all that don't really change how I feel. Even without the names of the countries, the whole premise just made me feel very ugh. But then hearing that they used names similar to actual an actual country and "country," it's just???????? And like why would you used made-up names and then write up a story that is very reminiscent of what's actually going on? There are bigger problems in the world, and even within the entertainment world but it just leaves a bad taste.

I might get some shit for this but one of the reasons some of you have such shit critical skills/reading comprehension is because you’re adults who exclusively consume kids’ cartoons, ya books and fanfic and staunchly refuse to engage with anything remotely challenging which is how we ended up with people thinking harry potter is the apex of world literature or that dante’s inferno is the same as fanfiction. I love easily digestible things that are simply fun to consume but I’ve heard people say “ya is a vast diverse genre” and in the same breath add “I don’t like the classics (aka books that shaped, reflected and influenced the world) because they’re all boring and one genre apparently” which is a stance that is not so much anti-elitist as it is anti-intellectual.

Just finished Love Like the Galaxy. It was good! Definitely worth the 56 episode investment. There were moments in the last 5-10 episodes where I think they had to cut some scenes(?) and the story kind of stumbled a little bit, but it pretty much stuck the landing. It was very well written, story and plot wise. It doesn't fall into the usual cdrama trap of a lagging middle section or an out-of-place (and kind of boring) arc. I had a great time, I was engaged the all throughout.
#also zhao lusi is a great actress#ive picked up several of her series but this is i think the first one of them i ever completed but she does a great job everytime#took me some more time to get used to wu lei's acting but that also has to do with how his character is written#love like the galaxy#cdrama
