So I usually don't post stuff like this but...
Right so today in class my math teacher, a human who is taller than our door and probably more awkward than it, casually mentioned how he isn’t married and how he never really felt attraction to any gender. So a pan girl in my class puts up her hand and asks if he was Asexual. One confused state and three queer people explanations later… HE WAS BEYOND EXCITED TO FIND OUT THAT HE WAS VALID AND SEEN AS AN ACTAUL HUMAN TO THE LGBT COMMUNITY. I shit you not. My way too tall and way too smart and way too dorky and way too awkward maths teacher lived his entire life thinking that he was strange and abnormal for not feeling any attraction to anyone. And a class of insane grade elevens changed that.

Not to emotionally connect to DEH on main but sometimes when I’m really really low I listen to Words Fail and think about how much of a low point that would have to be and the fact that Evan kept going afterward. Like he didn’t let go. He lost everything except his mother and he held on and kept getting treatment and kept trying to get better. I always wondered why they made a musical about hope so fucking depressing but I realized that’s the point. Words Fail puts Evan in a situation in which you almost expect him to give up completely, but he doesn’t. I think that’s the real anti-suicide message of Dear Evan Hansen. It’s not You Will Be Found. It’s not Disappear. It’s Evan Hansen standing there after Words Fail and So Big/So Small and choosing to hold on, choosing to get better because he doesn’t want to live like this.
God I love this show.
