Humans are adorable.

Supporting evidence:

1. Humans say ‘ow’, even if they haven’t actually been hurt. It’s just a thing they say when they think they might have been hurt, but aren’t sure yet.

2. Humans collect shiny things and decorate their bodies and nests with them. The shinier the better, although each individual has a unique taste for style and colouring

3. Humans are not an aquatic or even amphibious species, but they flock to bodies of water simply to play in it. They can’t even hold their breath all that long; they just love to splash!

4. When night falls and the sky goes dark, humans become drowsy and begin to cocoon themselves in soft, fluffy bedding.

5. Some humans spend time in each other’s nests! Just for fun! It’s not their nest; they’re just visiting each other.

6. Some humans use pigments and dyes to make their bodies flashy and colourful! They even attach shiny dangly bits to their cartalidgous membranes!

7. Humans are very clever, and sometimes adopt creatures from other species into their family units. They don’t seem to notice the obvious differences, and often raise them alongside their own young!

8. If a human sees another creature in distress, they can commonly be observed trying to help! Even at their own risk, most humans are deeply compassionate creatures!

9. If a human hears a particularity catchy sound or tune, it will often mimic it, even to the point of annoying themselves!

10. Sneezes are entirely involuntary, and completely adorable. Especially when the human in question becomes frustrated

11. Humans love treats!!! Some more than others. Many humans will save these treats specifically for a later date when they are in need of comfort or reassurance. IE, pickles, pop tarts, Popsicles, etc

12. They’re learning to travel in space!!! They can’t get very far, but they’re trying!!! So far, they’ve made it to the end of their yard, and have found rocks

the titans really treated each other like family because that’s what they are. Damn, I wish I knew people like that…people that’ll ride for you, get beat up with you, eat with you and all that good stuff. So yeah you aren’t the only one who feels that way

// RIGHT??? I wish I had buds like that. Or, at least, I guess I DO have a few, but I wish I had buds like that as a family, always together. My little family unit from college has scattered now and we’re all over the country. It’s like missing home being away from them. :c

          “First, let us begin with your name. In the English language, it is... Sameer, yes? We do not have the name on my planet, but the CLOSEST translation would sound much the same,” she explains. “’Sameer’ would change to ‘Sami’r’.” She sounds the name out slowly, voice lilting a little at the end and hardening the ‘r’.

          Her fists clenched at her sides. Words--foul, horrible words--push against her throat, threatening to SPILL out in one venomous SNAP. But she holds back, not for Control Freak’s but her own. He is only a fool, she thinks, a fool who cannot realize the things he says.

          “You truly know nothing of me if you believe that I may be BRIBED and BOUGHT.”

OKAY. so i didn’t say any of this before when i first made this post, but can i just talk about how much i ADORE this episode?? not just because starfire is one of my favorite characters and it’s an obviously starfire-heavy ep, but because it SHOWCASES just how much love her friends have for her!! not to mention it also deals with the heavy topic of racism and feeling out-casted in a way that kids can understand.

throughout this entire episode, val-yor does nothing but degrade and push starfire away. he slots her into menial, sometimes totally unnecessary tasks as an afterthought or, worse, puts her up to tasks that are particularly DANGEROUS. val-yor has absolutely zero regard to starfire’s feelings or her life and even seems to get amusement out of it. as if that’s not enough, he treats her like this in front of her friends, THE PEOPLE SHE HAS COME TO KNOW AS FAMILY. and you know what she does? even though she’s clearly being humiliated? even though she has every right to punch his sorry butt outta the solar system??? THIS GIRL ENDURES IT ALL BECAUSE SHE BELIEVES THAT PUTTING THE SUCCESS OF THEIR MISSION ABOVE HER FEELINGS IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. STARFIRE. IS. SO. SELFLESS.

but then cyborg calls her ‘troqie’, like it’s nothing, like it’s a playful nickname. starfire gets angry with him, but once she realizes he was ignorant of the meaning behind it, she takes care to explain it. AND CYBORG COMFORTS HER. HE DOESN’T LAUGH IT OFF. HE DOESN’T SAY ‘OH BUT IT’S JUST A NICKNAME, VAL-YOR DOESN’T MEAN IT’. HE APOLOGIZES AND LETS HER KNOW THAT IT ISN’T OKAY, SHE HAS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. and even??? when starfire??? insists that her feelings don’t matter??? CYBORG INSISTS RIGHT BACK. HE TELLS ROBIN. and ooooooohhh my gosh, ohhhh my gosh, i LOVE the steeliness behind robin’s voice when he hears. that single ‘what’ holds so much anger for starfire. all that admiration and puppy-like seeking for acceptance from val-yor DIES. he’s no longer his hero, he’s no longer star-struck by val-yor’s talk. 

and i just???????? that’s so touching to me every time how much her friends care??? because once they see that val-yor has been calling starfire a terrible name and once they’re no longer blind to his blatant abuse, they all have her back??? EVEN THOUGH THEY ALL HERO-WORSHIPPED HIM BEFORE. NO ONE MINIMIZES STAR’S PAIN. THEY JUST... LOVE HER. AND CARE FOR HER SO MUCH??? BECAUSE STARFIRE’S FEELINGS ARE SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT TO THEM THAN IMPRESSING SOME SPACE HERO. 

AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON STARFIRE’S SPEECH AT THE END. l i k e maannnn even though val-yor treated her like dirt, she still finds a way to stand up for herself while treating him with respect. gosh knows val-yor doesn’t DESERVE respect, but she does it anyway because she knows that if she lashes out, she’ll only sink to his level. she knows that treating him as horribly as he treated her won’t make him change his mind because his mind may NEVER be changed. in the end she knows its only her FRIENDS’ opinions that matter, the ones who truly LOVE her and RESPECT HER for who she is.

i’m just so full of emotion over my precious space baby and her team. i want friends like that. i want to handle people like val-yor with so much strength and courage and grace. one day i want to be like starfire.

          Gone was her concern the moment he dared to call her that word, the word that was used to dissolve her to N O T H I N G . Her features hardened into a frown, green eyes flashing with the heat of anger she felt knotting in her core. 

          “If you ‘liked’ me, as you say, you would not refer to me with such a terrible word,” she said, tone HARD but even. She could not rightfully lash out at Control Freak if he was not causing havoc, though now she almost wished that he WOULD.
