A Christmas morning with the Gonzalez's

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~☃️🧑🏼‍🎄~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I woke up to the sound of Christmas music blasting through the house "What the hell", I reached over to my bedside table for my phone to check the time 8:30, I rolled out of bed and walked into the kitchen where my husband (Tony) and daughter (Lola) we're makin' gingerbread cookies "so making cookies without me" Lola looked up at me and smiled, with batter on her lips "sorry mommy, you want some?" she came over to me with the spoon in her hands "no thanks baby". She quickly ran back to the chair and continued mixing, "Look who's awake", he gave me a kiss on the cheek "You look like a mess..and so does this kitchen" I put my hands on my hips and looked around, so many boxes on the floor and flour, "c'mon enjoy the morning" after all I was dying to spend the morning with both of them, and I got the chance so now I will take it. "Mommy?" "Mhm?" I walk to the seat next to her, "Daddy says when you're angry you look like the Grinch" I scoffed, that creature can't say that I look like the Grinch "Lola!" he nervously laughed "But you said not to lie!" I laughed at her statement "it's ok my little monkey, why dont we go shower?".We headed upstairs to the bathroom where I prepared the bubble bath for us, while we were up there, Tony put the cookies in the oven to bake. "Mommy, can I go play with Rory later?", he was our neighbor, and Lola would often play with him, but today he and his family went on a trip, "Oh I'm sorry monkey, but he's on a trip right now", I could see the sadness in her eyes "it ok" was all she said before stepping into the bath ~time skip~ While I was helping Lola get her slippers, I smelt some smoke, we rushed downstairs where Tony was fanning away the smoke with a cloth, "What the hell happened?!". I could clearly see that he burnt the cookies, but didn't want to disappoint Lola with the news "Daddy what did you do?" "Well *clears throat* i.uh slipped over Tammy Twinkletoes and then uh pressed the wrong button..and now the cookies are um...a bit brighter?" she was unfazed at this statement "well then let's make more!" she ran to the pantry and looked for the batter, "Lola.. there's no more..".Thats when it happened, the most wretched sound in all history..she started crying, she ran upstairs and into her bedroom. "Tony Gonzalez, go and comfort my baby right now!" he ripped off his apron and ran upstairs, there was nothing I could do...unless "Mom!" I had the grand idea to text my mom, after all, Lola did, in fact, love her cookies. I pulled out my phone and texted her. ~~~Mama~~~ | Hey ma change of plans, can you bake the cookies, please| |What hppend to "I'll do it myself"?| | plan failed, Tony burned the cookies| |ok fine, be there soon| |thx🩷| I rushed upstairs to tell them the good news, "Guess what?!", Lola still looked a bit out of it but she still turned around, and so did Tony. "Nana's baking cookies!" her eyes wide open in excitement, she got out of bed and hugged me "I knew you had a plan Mommy!" we both laughed together and went downstairs leaving Tony behind "Hey what about me!" he laughed getting up and out. ~ding dong~ "Nana!Nana!" Lola opened the door and hugged Nana "Careful" I took the cookies out of her hand and placed them on the table, we all sat on the table eating the cookies. The cookies were still a bit too hot and Lola ate them way too fast "Oh shit!" she said, we all gasped and looked at her "Oh gosh, where did you learn that sweetie?" Nana questioned "Oops... Daddy said it" We all turned to look at him "Tony!" he looked up at us from his plate and then coughed "Oh *cough* I Stubbed my toe!" I placed my hands on my face..... What a Morning
