If you want to make a difference in the quality of life of dogs, consider walking some shelter dogs.
In the last month, the dogs at my local shelter have been walked six times. Total. Not even each. All it costs is transportation and time, and you can even sharpen your loose leash walking skills.
With so many private rescues and foster programs, it's easy to forget simple things you can do to help. A weekly walk or a jar of peanut butter for kongs can mean the difference of a dog getting enrichment or not in a stressful kennel environment.
