your ivy grows
note: soulmate au. not quite finished, but i didn't want to wait any longer to post. here's the first bit, hopefully i'll get around to finishing it sometime soon.
prompt: free day rating: G for @starbula-week, day 7
Nebula is four when she first feels it. A feeling that is not her own. A hollow ache in her chest that feels so overwhelming she forgets how to breathe.
Her mother notices the panic on her face and rushes to her side.
“Nebula, darling, is everything okay?”
Nebula doesn't know how to answer. She was fine just a few moments ago. Now there are tears streaming down her face and a sense of grief is filling her heart. She has a sudden urge to hug her mother tight and never let go.
Later that evening, when the worst of it has passed, she learns about soulmates.
---
Peter is fifteen and it almost knocks him over.
Him and Yondu and a few of the other Ravagers are out celebrating a successful haul. Peter is at the bar getting another round for everyone when out of nowhere–fear. Vast, staggering fear.
He knows what this is, but he screws his eyes shut and wills the feeling away. He's only young, he doesn't want to worry about soulmates yet.
But the feeling doesn't go away. It stays, it grows. And for the first time in a long time, Peter thinks of Earth and misses the people he left behind.

✨ Starbula Week, Day 7: Free Day ✨
Continuing yesterday’s “Family” theme, here’s something I’m sure everyone is clamoring for… a geriatric!Starbula drabble 😆
Like yesterday, this is going along with my post about Peter and Nebula’s daughter, Meredith. Just set several decades in the future, after a night of Grandpa Peter and Grandma Nebula babysitting for the evening...
Nebula was reclined on the couch, absentmindedly sipping wine and watching a movie (Apollo 13, to be exact – Nebula always enjoyed watching Kevin Bacon movies, who, even into his nineties, had remained a good friend of the family), when she heard the plop of someone dropping onto the cushion beside her.
Turning to face her husband of over thirty years, Nebula instinctively snuggled into Peter’s shoulder as he let out a long-repressed groan. “Okay, I think Henry’s finally asleep,” he said, dragging a head over his face.
“Which legendary Star-Lord adventure did you tell him this time?” Nebula asked, turning her face up towards Peter's with a knowing smile. Of the two of them, Peter was definitely the best at making his space adventure stories sound exciting and fun for small children – even if it sometimes required stretching the truth or skipping over more unsightly details. Five-year-old Henry was obsessed with both of his 'space grandparents,' as he called them, but he’d lately been gravitating more toward his grandpa (maybe the recent birth of his baby sister had led to him feeling outnumbered by girls) – and after being tucked into bed by both Peter and Nebula this evening, he’d begged Grandpa Peter to stay and tell him just one more story.
“Oh, is that a little jealousy? Don’t worry, I'm sure you’ll go back to being his favorite sooner than later, Nebs,” Peter said with a kiss to her temple – still synthetic and metal, but after all of these years, something she’d grown to accept as simply part of her life, coming with the territory of the rest of the unimaginably, overwhelmingly beautiful life she got to call hers. “And as for the story…it was the time I saved the galaxy through the power of dance. Well, the second time, on Tarnax IV,” he said with a grin. “Remember that time, babe?”
“Unfortunately, yes,” Nebula huffed out a laugh. “Hopefully you didn’t share all the details from that mission. I don’t think Henry needs to hear about –”
Peter choked out, “Hey, keep it down! I’m sure Mer keeps a baby monitor on around here and I don’t need her somehow recording that.”
Nebula laughed and reached over to the coffee table, grabbing the glass of wine that she’d poured while waiting for her husband to come downstairs, finally child-free.
“Here, Star-Lord; you definitely deserve it,” she said, handing the wine over.
Peter’s eyes, still bright and boyish even well into his seventies, grew larger and he took the glass, clinking it to hers with a grateful, “Thanks, Nebs – you’re the best. You know I love these kids and I really love babysitting them with you, but ohmygod I’m so tired. Now that there are three of them…” he shuddered. “I don’t know how they do it.”
Nebula looked at the photo on the side table – a recent family portrait of their daughter, her husband, and their three kids – all three a pale shade of blue, and all in various stages of screaming. Nebula knew that nice photos had been taken that day, too, but Meredith and her husband had gotten such a kick out of this one that they’d immediately framed it.
With an infant now in the mix, along with a toddler and kindergartener, Peter and Nebula knew that life had taken on a new level of chaos in their daughter's life. But they also knew she was so, so happy.
Especially when her parents were more than eager to travel to earth twice a week to watch the kids during the day, cutting down on daycare costs while both parents worked – and to stay overnight one of those days, allowing both parents to have an actual break. Tonight, in fact, was their first date night since baby Gamora’s birth a few weeks ago.
Even after all of these years, Nebula wouldn’t call herself an expert on earth life, but she did know that having free childcare was a gift – one that she and Peter were thrilled to provide, now that both had been retired for several years.
That thought made Nebula smile to herself. Speaking of “even after all of these years,” sometimes Nebula still couldn’t believe that this was her life. That she got to be here, helping to care for her grandkids, playing with them all night and hearing them exclaim, “Love you, grandma Nebby!” before she kissed them goodnight.
That she got to do it all with the man beside her. Her handsome, wonderful Peter. The love of her life. After decades together, the man who still gave her butterflies, and still caused her to sometimes pause and pinch herself just to make sure that she wasn’t dreaming, and that he really was hers.
Peter interrupted Nebula’s thoughts with a smile and sarcastic wave of his hand, deep laugh lines crinkling around his green eyes. “Earth to Nebula, you still there?”
Nebula turned to her husband, settling her head back on his shoulder. “I’m just happy.”
She felt Peter’s head gently rest on hers as she closed her eyes contentedly. “Me too.”
Several hours later, the door quietly opened as Meredith and her husband made their way inside. Scanning the living room for any rogue kids out of bed, she quickly spotted her parents asleep on the couch, heads resting on each other’s. She was tempted to leave them lying there peacefully – but knowing the increasing complaints both had been making about their joints these days, she decided that by the morning, they’d thank her for waking them up now.
Leaning over the couch, smiling at her parents with all the love and admiration one could hold, Meredith said, “Hey mom, dad – we’re home.”
---
In this headcanon, since Peter is in his early-to-mid forties when Meredith is born and Nebula is in her late thirties, they are in their seventies here. I love the idea that eventually, one of their grandkids ends up falling in love with their grandparents’ stories of adventures around space so much that when they grow up, they decide to live in space and continue that legacy. So then Peter and Nebula eventually have descendants who both live on earth and in space, which I find so poetic and beautiful 😫
Also, there is no special MCU significance to the name Henry – my friend just had a baby named Henry, and I think it’s such a cute name lol. Meredith naming one of her kids after aunt Gamora also seems so sweet...and even though I'd love for Mantis to get a name, I feel like any kid on earth with that name would never survive the astronomical amounts of bullying they'd get. :') Sorry, Mantis!
...And with that, my Starbula week contributions are done! 🎉 This has been so fun and a great way to get the headcanons/scenarios that have been rattling around in my brain out and into the world. Thanks to @starbula-week for hosting – you are seriously the best! ❤️❤️❤️

Starbula Week, Day 5: Alternate Universe and Day 6: Family / Holiday
This weekend has been crazy busy, so I guess I’m just combining the two most recent Starbula Week days for the price of one 😅
Basically, this is just a continuation of my post last year that explored the future daughter (Meredith Quill) that I imagine Peter and Nebula having. I won’t rehash it all here, but basically I picture her looking like Millie Bobby Brown, just blue (like…tell me there isn’t *some* resemblance here)
Tumblr media
At the time, I didn’t realize that Millie was actually going to be starring in a movie with Chris Pratt (made by the Russo brothers, no less), called The Electric State, which will be releasing in 2025. And now that promo is starting up for it, my Starbula brain is quite delighted 🤭
So in today’s combo Starbula Week post, I’ll both share my headcanon about how an AU Meredith and Peter could fit into the visuals and plot of The Electric State…and, first, some recent press tour photos that look like Peter hanging out with his young adult daughter and make my heart happy 🥲💗
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m sorry, this is STUPIDLY CUTE. I’ll also just assume that Peter recently lost a bet and had to shave his beard, since otherwise I can't think of why he'd be without his lovely facial hair from Vol 3 😤
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok, so now for the Starbula/The Electric State AU!
Tumblr media
I will admit, basically the only Starbula element here is the fact that she and Peter are married with an adorable daughter who is now in college on earth 😅
Also, I know nothing about this movie aside from what I've seen in the trailer! Everything here is 100% vibes lmao
So in this AU, somehow Peter and Meredith get stranded in a robot apocalypse and have to work together to save the world/escape/rescue Nebula/etc. I actually think it’s a cute concept in general, because how many father-daughter buddy-adventure films are there?
Tumblr media
Ok, here we go...
Meredith's first semester of college has just ended, and Peter comes to earth to bring her back home to Knowhere for winter break. Nebula can’t make it because an important work trip came up that she couldn’t reschedule, which is why she’s not on this adventure lol 🙃
On the way to Knowhere, the two get intercepted and basically kidnapped/trapped on this planet where robots have taken over. (And this is the only universe where this happens, hence it being an AU.) Maybe Meredith and Peter's ship get captured and brought to the planet via tractor beam, maybe it gets boarded and they're forced on to the robots' ship, idk. But clearly these robots had been looking for them…😱 *cue suspense*
Once Meredith and Peter are on the planet, they realize that they can’t escape or call for help, since this advanced robot tech is jamming all of their own technology. They somehow manage to escape their captors, and are now on the run in this strange planet, without a way to call Nebula or the Guardians to rescue them. They end up here for several weeks (months?), hence Peter’s hair getting shaggy and Meredith having a super 90’s hairstyle. (In reality, I think the movie is just set in an alternate 1990’s lol)
Tumblr media
In the meantime, they learn how to work together as a father/daughter duo. Peter reluctantly teaches Meredith how to use a gun and fight, and, after feeling sheltered and coddled by her parents her whole life, Meredith finally feels like she’s being respected and treated like an equal by her dad.
(Of course, who can blame Peter and Nebula for coddling their daughter and wanting her to have a safe, sheltered life, after the childhoods they had both had?)
Also, since there seem to be some nice robots that they team up with in this movie, I guess during their adventures, they end up gathering a little team of friendly robots who want to overthrow the evil robots who are in charge of the planet.
Eventually, Peter and Meredith learn the backstory of these robots, and why the two of them have been brought here. The robots were originally made on earth, or some earth-like planet, that had decided to scrap the idea of sentient robots entirely and sent them all into space, where they crash-landed on this barren planet and eventually took it over.
(Maybe the evil leader robots want to take over the universe – typical 🙃 – in retribution for being cast out by their creators, and the nice robots just want to live in this planet in peace, but are being forced to cooperate with the evil, in-charge robots or be taken apart...)
Tumblr media
Meredith and Peter also learn that they’ve been kidnapped and brought here as bait for Nebula, who the robot leaders have been enthralled with ever since they’d learned about her – a being who is both mostly robot and is alive. They'd decided that by holding her family ransom, she’d be forced to give herself up in exchange for their safety. What these robot leaders actually wanted with Nebula, Peter and Meredith still aren't sure.
But once Peter and Meredith are eventually kidnapped, Nebula (who has, along with the rest of Knowhere, been distraught for weeks at the disappearance of her family) is sent a message: Unless she comes to their planet, alone, within 24 hours, her daughter and husband will be killed.
Nebula's arrival on the planet basically starts the climax of the "movie," where she learns that the robot leaders’ goal is to finish her “upgrades,” making her 100% robotic like them. That way, she can be a sort of god for them as they fulfill their "destiny" of wiping out the universe of non-robotic creatures. (The more I thought about this scenario, the more this actually seemed like an MCU-esque mission/galaxy threat, lol.)
Meredith, who is restrained next to her dad, tries to convince her mom not to go along with the exchange and to escape while she still can. However, when a guard begins torturing Meredith in front of her, Nebula distraught, agrees to all of their terms. Of course she’d do anything to protect her daughter.
And then, of course, they all somehow get out of it 🤪 Maybe Meredith and Peter's new robot friends, who had always been undervalued by the more advanced robots that took charge of the planet, are able to sneak Meredith a gun and she is able to kill the robots holding her captive and free herself, Peter, and Nebula. Then, once they’re all free, the trio – plus their robot friends – are able to destroy the robot leaders for good and free the rest of the planet from their control. Yayyyy
And in the process, the Meredith and Peter (and Nebula!) of this AU have gotten to grow closer, having survived a robot apocalypse and even saved the galaxy together.
So there you go! My extremely random Starbula AU...with visuals to go with it! 😉
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really do love that no matter how the movie turns out (even though it sounds like the relationship between Millie and Chris’ characters is central to the plot, which is amazing), it will definitely have some fun visuals and vibes to fuel this AU that I've come up with. Can't wait for March 2025! 🥳

prompt: family rating: G for @starbula-week, day 6
Nebula flops onto the bed with a content sigh.
“You had a good time tonight?” Peter’s taking off his jeans, getting ready for bed.
“I did,” She props herself up on her elbows to get a better look at him. “I’m happy your grandparents like me.”
“Of course they do,” A balled up sock soars through the air, but misses the laundry basket. “Why wouldn't they?”
Nebula rolls her eyes a little, “Did you like me when we first met?”
“Touché,” Peter concedes. “But, to be fair, you were a bit more assassin-y back then.”
Nebula laughs. “Only a bit?”
Peter, finally undressed, joins Nebula on the bed. “Thanks for coming all this way to meet them.”
Nebula places a hand on his cheek, a smile forming on her lips. “Of course, there's nowhere else I'd rather be.”

note: sometimes you watch "past lives" and have a long cry and write this (i'm sorry)
prompt: au rating: G for @starbula-week, day 5
Somehow Gamora came back. No one can figure out how, but it happened. Bruce sent a message that Natasha returned, too. Everyone is happy.
Nebula is happy. She has grown so much in the years since the Blip, she is finally ready to have a relationship with her sister.
She is happy. Except for the small part of her that’s sad.
“It’s okay.” Nebula tells Peter.
It’s mostly the truth. They’ve only been dating for a few months. It's not like they were in love. Gamora is his soulmate.
“It’s okay.” She says again.
It will eventually be the truth.

Starbula Week, Day 4: Oblivious / Realization
Since I still haven't visualized the exact scenario when Nebula has her "oh" moment of realizing her feelings for Peter (I just have a vague idea of it being after nearly a year of developing their unexpectedly close friendship and becoming team co-leads, post-Endgame; there are too many amazing scenarios to pin down one just yet), I thought I'd share my headcanon of how *Peter* realized his feelings for Nebula...
…by sharing the fantastic fic that explores this, Accidentally in Love. So today is just a recommendation to read that fic if you haven’t yet -- it's one of my favorite Starbula fics! 😆
Basically post-GOTG Vol 3, Nebula goes to earth to visit the Starks and Peter tags along, and while observing this side of Nebula he'd never known before, he finds himself realizing his true feelings for her... 🥲 SO GOOD!
The only change I make in my own headcanon version of this scenario is that Nebula actually comes to earth for Morgan's birthday party, and Peter somehow tags along to the party. Here are a few more (fun, in my biased opinion) details that go along with that scenario!
Maybe Nebula lets Peter know she'll be coming to earth and asks if he'd like to get lunch before the party, since she'll be in the neighborhood (so to speak). And once Peter learns she's coming for a birthday party, he weasels his way into coming too...even though he's never actually met Pepper and Morgan before. Pepper, of course, is aware of Nebula's feelings for Peter and is secretly elated about the extra guest, so she says of course he can join.
So it's at Morgan's birthday party (which is basically an all-ages party at the Stark's house, with friends like Rhodey in attendance) that Peter gets to see this new side of Nebula. The side that held Morgan when she was an infant, and played dress up with her during her infrequent visits to earth (Peter would definitely get a kick out of watching videos from the five years post-Snap provided by FRIDAY), and was a treasured part of this family. Peter would get to put some of the final pieces together of understanding the unique, complicated, and truly special person Nebula is, and at some point during the party, he'd finally have his "oh" moment.
Maybe it's while watching Nebula dancing goofily with Morgan. Maybe it's when he sees Nebula talking with Rhodey and getting irrationally jealous of her friendship with him. Maybe it's hearing stories about Nebula's growth and journey over the five years that he'd missed from Pepper. IDK, there are so many options in this scenario and I love them all lmao. Definitely partial to the Peter-being-jealous one, though. Maybe that's what tips him off to something being different near the start of the party, and things go on from there.
I also definitely headcanon that once the party is winding down that evening, Pepper insists that Peter and Nebula stay over at their home for the night. Since Pepper and Morgan get to see Nebula so infrequently, I bet she could be easily convinced to just stay over and leave after breakfast the next day, getting a little more time with them. And Peter absolutely doesn't want to leave Nebula's side, not that day's realization, so he's grateful for a little extra time.
That unlocks even more amazing Starbula moments at the Stark cabin...
For example, the two of them sitting alone at the Stark's fire pit, roasting marshmallows and waiting for Pepper to put Morgan to bed. Peter would be uncharacteristically quiet because he's still reeling from the realization that he has romantic feelings for one of his best friends, and maybe has been for a while. Nebula would be oblivious to this, of course, but would be able to clock that Peter's being kind of weird. But it's like a cute weird for them, idk how to explain 🥺
And then maybe once Pepper eventually goes to bed herself, the two then somehow end up stargazing while laying on the dock of the Stark's pond. They point out stars that Nebula can see from Knowhere and recount stories of their adventures across these stars. While Nebula is simply content to be with the man she loves, Peter is trying hard to hide the fact that he's having a mini-mental breakdown lolol.
Then as they're leaving the next morning, Pepper says something to Peter that lets him know that she knows. And that she is happy for him, and for Nebula. Of course, once again, Nebula is totally oblivious. (I'm SUCH a sucker for the idea that over the next several months (maybe a year?), Peter's pining for Nebula continues to grow comically large, while she remains completely unaware -- never even considering the fact that the man she loves could ever feel the same. It's SO GOOD ARGHGHH.)
And finally, when Nebula drops Peter back off in Missouri before returning to space, Peter watches her go and feels his heart drop to his feet.
...Shit.
-------
Anyway, this is officially your PSA to read Accidentally in Love, along with the additional headcanon twist I’ve added to it! 😆 Happy Starbula Week day 4! 🎉

Starbula Week, Day 3: Alcohol / Jealousy
Now for something completely different...a GOTG/Parks & Rec headcanon! (I tried to keep this relevant to everyone, whether or not you've seen Parks & Rec...though everyone definitely should, as it's a fabulous show!)
Context: I recently finished a Parks & Rec rewatch, and thanks to Starbula/GOTG being on my brain, I began imagining ways for the characters to be part of Peter's life, post GOTG Vol 3. So for Starbula Week Day 3, here’s my brief overview of how Parks & Rec characters became part of Peter Quill’s Missouri found family, and the *~jealousy~* that one of these people ended up feeling towards Nebula… 😏
Tumblr media
Just look at how cute they are 🥺
Tumblr media
Ok, here's my headcanon:
After Peter has settled into life back on earth a bit, his grandpa has an idea. Being part of a grief support group had been a lifeline for him after Meredith’s death and Peter’s disappearance. Maybe it would be helpful for Peter to try one out, too, in addition to the therapist he’d recently begun seeing?
Peter agrees that it sounds like a good idea, and finds a new group that has space for one more. When he shows up for the first meeting, he meets...the Parks & Rec main cast, just their alternate MCU versions. (And all living in Missouri instead of Pawnee, Indiana, of course 🤓)
Side-note: I have no idea how grief support groups actually work, but in this fic, I'm saying people have to join a new group for a set number of sessions instead of just dropping in. It's relevant to the headcanon, and it's how the MCU in my brain works!
During that first session, while everyone introduces themselves, Peter learns about the different types of grief they're all dealing with: losing family members, friends, clothing stores (that would be Tom), etc. Ron Swanson is the only attendee who doesn't want to be there; he's been court-ordered to attend a grief support group, probably after some kind of crazy shenanigans with Tammy II 😆 And of course, April Ludgate is only there because she's fascinated by death and observing grieving people lol
After the first session, led by none other than Chris Traeger -- who seems like he'd be delighted to do something like this -- everyone (aside from Ron) is pretty shocked by how cathartic it was, and they all decide to keep coming.
The support group keeps meeting weekly and grows very close, and once the official term of the grief support group ends -- let's say, after four months -- they all decide to continue meeting together, just unofficially. And like in the show, this eclectic little group becomes a lovely found family. It's so sweet to think about Peter having amazing people on earth and Knowhere who love him so much. And I love thinking about how, even so, he still eventually decides the place he truly belongs is back on Knowhere. Somehow, I feel like his decision to be on Knowhere, and (eventually) with Nebula, is even more special knowing that he also could have had a happy life in Missouri.
I also love the idea of the P&R characters gradually observing Peter's journey of healing/moving on from Gamora and his growing feelings for Nebula. I love imagining him getting advice from Leslie or Ron about what to do with these confusing new feelings, and what to do with his life in general.
Ok, onto the Starbula Week stuff...
All the while, April, who's only in the support group because she wanted to observe/enjoy everyone's grief, ends up staying in the group and growing as a person, just as she does on the show. And in a similar vein, she develops a major crush on Peter. (Also, she's in her mid/late-twenties instead of in college because that age gap is Too Much.)
Tumblr media
Unfortunately for the April of this universe, of course, Peter just sees her as a good friend and remains oblivious to her growing romantic feelings for him. Sorry April :((
The jealousy (and alcohol) of today's prompt come to a head when Peter's support group friends and his Knowhere family all meet for the first time, about a year after his arrival on Earth. Peter has just finished his GED and, after his graduation ceremony, everyone (aside from his grandparents) goes out to celebrate. Thankfully, Peter is no longer tempted to numb the pain with alcohol anymore, so he can have a drink or two with his friends. He's just excited to dance with them -- overjoyed to finally have both his earth and his space friends together in one place.
In the meantime, April's feelings have been growing stronger for Peter over the past few months, and she's decided that tonight is finally the night she'd confess her feelings to him. She is scared but excited.
Throughout the day, Peter had been focused on being a good friend to everyone, and to spend time with everyone equally -- even though he really wanted to be near Nebula whenever possible. Peter wanted everyone to get along and have a good time, and that had been his main focus. Now, finally at the bar and able to relax and have fun, Peter finds himself naturally gravitating toward Nebula. He finds that he really wants to dance with her, to tell her about the weird new earth musiians he'd been learning about that were currently blasting on the dance floor.
After dancing by her side in the larger group for a while, Peter couldn't resist. He reaches out and grabs her hand, trying to make his voice teasing when he asked, "Dance with me?" Nebula, of course, desperately tries to hide how flustered she is, and the two begin dancing.
Of course, this all is taking place while April was at the bar getting a round of shots for everyone. She's still formulating her plan of how she'd hint to Peter of her feelings, walking back to the dance floor, when she spots Peter and Nebula dancing. And her stomach drops.
The dance moves aren't intimate, per se, but their eyes. The two can't take their eyes off of each other as they move together, in sync to the music. The blue alien's lithe form moves smoothly and quickly, and April can't look away. Neither, of course, can Peter.
All of the sudden, April understands what was happening -- what had been happening for months and months, as she'd heard more and more mentions of Nebula's name. How could she have been such an idiot?
Leslie notices her younger friend staring and comes to check on her, giving April a knowing, sad smile. "You okay?"
April scoffs. "Dammit, I can't even hate this bitch -- I mean, look at her, she's fucking awesome."
Leslie nods, staring back at the pair dancing. It's clear that neither Peter nor Nebula were seeing what every single one of their friends did, and she has no idea how. It's pretty obvious, from her vantage point over here, that the two are absolutely head over heels for each other. They'll figure it out eventually, she thinks. My main focus is being there for April tonight.
Putting an arm around April, and ignoring her cries of protest at the unwanted physical contact, Leslie lays her head on April's shoulder. "You know, you're pretty awesome, too."
The two drink a shot in solidarity, watching Peter and Nebula dance together until the song ends.
---
Ok that's it -- sorry for the Starbula-light content, but for any fellow Parks & Rec fans, I hope this was fun to imagine!
Just think of how fun all the P&R cast would be at a future Peter/Nebula wedding... because I definitely have lol
And in closing, it's time to bask in these amazing characters being adorable together, imagining that all the photos below are actually post-Vol 3 Peter Quill instead of Andy Dwyer... 🥰

out to lunch
prompt: oblivious rating: G for @starbula-week, day 4
“Why do we always have to get mushrooms?” Peter whined, as he took a couple of pizza slices from the box.
“Because mushrooms are an excellent pizza topping,” Nebula countered, sitting in the chair next to Peter, “and you always get out voted.”
Peter huffed and started picking the mushrooms off his pizza. Automatically, Nebula pushed her plate towards him, and Peter transferred his mushrooms to her plate.
A few moments later, extra olives made their way from Nebula's plate to Peter’s.
Across the room, Rocket nudged Kraglin “Have these clowns realized they're datin’ yet?”
Kraglin laughed, “Not a chance.”

Starbula Week - Day 3
Alcohol/Jealousy
I tried doing a moodboard for a hypothetical fanfic.
I figure the folks on Knowhere throw some pretty wild parties. During one, Nebula decides to cut loose.
The attention she attracts digs up some feelings in Peter that he thought he'd buried.

you've gotta fight
prompt: alcohol rating: T (alcohol, implied violence) for @starbula-week, day 3
“Get ready to run.”
That’s all the warning Nebula gets. Peter is already brushing past her, determinedly heading towards the bar.
She whips her head around, looking for a threat. But, they decided to go to one of Knowhere’s more disreputable bars tonight, so everyone looks a little bit sketchy.
“What the hell is going on?” She yells after him.
Instead of a reply, she watches as Peter throws a beer at a seemingly random guy who’s sitting at the bar.
Two seconds later, the whole bar erupts into a brawl. And Peter is decidedly not running.
“Can't we ever have an uneventful night?” Nebula grumbles, as she picks up the stool she was sitting on and makes her way over to assist her dumbass boyfriend.

Definitely thought this would just be a quick little drabble for tumblr...aaaand it turned into another fanfic 🤡
This time, featuring lots of post-canon mutual pining, which is arguably my favorite Starbula relationship phase lol
(even though every phase of their relationship is fantastic)

💙 Starbula Week Day 2: Music ❤️
I originally planned to write Nebula reacting to a playlist Peter made her but in the end I decided to make the playlist instead. :)
I tried keeping it 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s as I headcanon Peter, despite his now fully access to every song in existence, sticking to his familiar sounds. I still sprinkled some bands/songs in I could imagine him checking out that aren't his regular picks. For example I think he would be fond of Daft Punk, or more their musical movie Interstella 5555 because of the Alien-Musical-Setting.
It was actually quite the challenge for me imagine what type of music Peter may be into without getting too much influenced by my own taste or straight up coping the Awesome Mix' ^^;
But now enough of the TMI xD
About the Playlist:
The idea was Peter creating a Playlist with songs that mirror his feelings towards Nebula. Straight up sappy, multiple confession songs, songs about how she makes him feel and yeah, I may put in some h0rny stuff in too. We're still talking about Peter "Horndog" Jason Quill. Lol (Nine Inch Nails' Closer was a risky pick ngl)
I like to imagine that Peter left Nebula the playlist to tease her and make her blush, even if he couldn't see it while he was on earth. Nebula would listen to it whenever she misses him, wearing one of his shirts while going through all kinds of emotions. Peter got her a smartphone with spotify installed so she could always listen to his newest additions. For Nebula it's actually so overwhelming but it makes her feel special. Knowing one of Peter's favorite things is music, knowing he thinks about her while listen to those songs may actually made her tear up, even the sappy ones.
Everytime Peter comes back he will ask Nebula if she'd listen to the new song on the playlist and he may go in an explanation rush what made him pick that one. What makes Nebula feeling loved even more.
My personal headcanon about Nebula's favorites:
I touch myself - Divinyls
This woman finds calming comfort knowing she wasn't the only one being absolutly horny pre-relationship lol
Fooled Around And Fell In Love - Elvin Bishop
Let this woman feel some sort of pride knowing she was the one Peter fell in love again after everything. She needs that. 😮‍💨
Like A Prayer - Madonna
Legit love the thought of Nebula being into (old) Madonna Music, although she didn't got the real meaning behind this song. Lol
Sorry it's no fanfiction, I had a few falling out of ideas(same with Day 1 so, yeah I gonna post something to that later on) but I hope you still somewhat like my little playlist! 💙❤️
