Today’s Thoughts | 10.11.17
Radiometric age-studies suggest that the Earth is approximately 4.54 billion years old. Recorded history begins in the 4th millennium BCE therefore we only have 6,000 years of historical narrative to monitor the evolution of man. With that said, I believe it to be completely plausible that mankind, or any other species of intelligent life could have well existed on our planet for millions if not billions of years, been wiped out, and life regenerated to create our modern era. Perhaps the key to our future lays in our past? Who know for certain what mankind’s history truly is and if Earth is even where we originated? Further to my point, perhaps humans are an amalgamation of races? Who is to know for certain.

I don’t believe that an Egyptian colony was established in the Grand Canyon. So many possibilities exist as to how this article arrived on the front page of this particular newspaper and yet appears nowhere else. However, my takeaway from the editorial is that the powers at be do select which history is passed down from generation to generation, discerning between that which is lore and that which is “true history”.
I believe that the Egyptians did have connect with the cultures present in the Americas. There is proof that the Vikings, Egyptians, and Chinese cultures all had some sort of presence on both continents yet institutions such as the Smithsonian and the like choose to negate their interactions with the Incas, Aztecs, Olmecs and Maya. My question is, why? Why suppress this information? Is it racism? Is it some sort of deep-rooted euro-centric colonial remnant? Or does the very fact that these cultures engaged in globalized trade and transportation somehow hold a key to unlocking an even deeper secret?

My Thoughts | 10.09.17
I often find myself curious as to the origin of humankind. Did we originate here on Earth or perhaps our history is a bit more complex than what we have been led to believe? It baffles me that we do not possess much recorded history earlier than 20,000 years ago and yet we have advanced more in the last 100 year than in the last two millennia. It seems as if we have been guided to achieve these unfathomable technological advancements whether in recent years or in the last 3,000 years.
With that said, there has been much proof that many ancient cultures depict similar glyphs many including identical creatures or symbols. If this is proof of this technological guidance. Why did they disappear? What changed? And have they returned to guide us again?

My Thoughts | 10.02.17
It baffles me to see articles with outlandish claims such as “highly advanced alien races are very unlikely to exist”. With all do respect, who are they to make these claims? We are essentially a spec of dust in an abyss of nothingness. The myriad of possibilities are endless as to what coexists with us in this never-ending void. A spectrum of possibilities so large and unimaginable exists that it allows for an exact replica of our planet with the same individuals on it to exist simultaneously with our own reality here on earth. In other words - space is never ending, know no time, no beginning nor end - the possibilities are endless.

Crewed missions to Mars have the potential to make the international community aware of the huge need we have for an pre-established legal framework for humans in space. As the reality sets in that humans will spend longer periods time in space, going further than we ever imagined, we must be sensitive to the needs of our astronauts, their safety, and the needs of future generations.

Crop Circles | 09.27.17
I have never given crop circles much thought. I have mostly seen them as disparate notes which a professor or a student may leave on a whiteboard when learning a new lesson. In short, I have genuinely thought them to be markers indicating particular points of interest or natural resources. I also believe that they may include a deeper meaning than what meets the eye. I believe that true crop circles leave a signature in the soil and probably even the bedrock which will outlast the short-lived lifespan of the crop upon which the visiting race may have imprinted upon. What a concept, using energy to leave a signature on any type of matter which transcends time and material decay.

Space Exploration proves to be big business all over the globe... Will dollar signs and the further privatization of space push the technological envelope further? I often wonder if mankind’s journey to the heavens will be expedited by our pocketbooks or by our hunger for scientific research and exploration.

Spheres of Influence | 09.24.17
It’s been nearly a month since I last posted. As I sit here and wonder what i would like to speak about today I decided to scour the internet for something that caught my eye or inspired me to post. My search didn’t yield exactly what i was looking for but it did point me in the direction of this evening’s premiere of Star Trek Discovery. Whether you are a Trekie or not we have all watched, read or heard of a story which has fueled the windmills of our minds. I wondered which film, book or TV show has most impacted me as a child or young adult. I quickly realized that the film “The Last Mimsy” was without a doubt the narrative which has most impacted me thus far and as a thirty year old man I still think about it often.
For those of you who have not heard of this film I would like to start by saying that it is a children’s movie,it wasn’t a big hit and it wasn’t very well recieved... However, it was the first film which presented me with the thought that if human’s used a larger portion of our minds we would be capable of incredible, almost magical abilities. I will never forget how the end of the film depicts two children flying through space using nothing more than their minds as propulsion.
I recently have found myself wondering if the concept of “magic” is nothing more than those folks who have been able to breakthrough this “glass ceiling” and cultivate a deeper understanding of how to harness their minds. I find myself wondering if specialists, scientists, and the like have developed a full-proof method of making this a reality for the masses. And further to that point, would the powers at be want the masses to have this understanding?
I also ask myself if advanced civilizations elsewhere have discovered this ability or if this is unique to humans. Many individuals claim that the flight decks of many UFO spacecrafts do not contain levers or buttons but rather seem to be controlled telepathically by the pilots.
Watch the film... It has been a point of personal mental stimulation for me for many, many years.

Star Gazer - 8.26.17
It has taken quite some time to take the leap and create the Star Gazer blog. In taking my quill to paper, I seek to create a space where I can explore my ideas as they relate to space, my experiences, and my dreams for mankind’s exploration of space. Technology is advancing at a cadence that few of us could have even imagined a few short decades ago and with that said, we must prepare ourselves with a solid yet dynamic legal framework which protects human kind, the celestial bodies we are to explore, as well as the beings that we may encounter along our journeys.
I believe the first step in the process is to establish a charter listing inalienable rights that all of Earth’s children are entitled to - a vehicle which may already exist within the UN Charter. Furthermore, a code should be established for the behavior of all humans in space (whether on official government business, private journeys, or scientific exploration). Once both of these steps have been taken, the scientific community should come together to decide how scenarios should be handled such as but not limited to: discovering seemingly uninhabited planets or systems, removing fauna and flora from planets, encountering alien vessels or objects in space, how to engage alien vessels, and the treatment of alien species.
Another area of concern for me would be agreement on earth for the enforcement of the following areas of the law in space: Criminal Law, Family Law, Trademark Law, and the like. We are moving so quickly that the technology for sustaining prolonged life in space is seemingly upon us yet we have not sufficiently advanced to come to agreement with all the nations of the planet on mundane areas of the law. I believe one multi-government organization should come into accord on these areas of the law and enforce these in space,
These are just my thoughts for today - Much more to come :)
