mavericks name orgins?

I don remember.. It just happened popped into my head and stayed there 🤷

I wish I could tell you more like how it fits the madness naming conventions well. That, or how the word Maverick is to call a person "unorthodox" or that it is to describe an unbranded calf. But those are really cool coincidences that only solidify the previously chosen name.

There's a hint of irony in both meanings. One, being that a maverick is an unbranded calf; while our Maverick is branded in a sense. Two, is that he did not go along with another party despite spending most of his life loyal to Nexus so much so that even after it fell, he continued his dedication and transferred to the AAHW for some time.

i know Maverick has a playlist, but if you had to narrow it down to 1 song, what would it be

OOOOO THAT'S A TOUGH ONE!

I'm indecisive when it comes to music and representation because each song represents him in some shape or form. (That's why they're in the playlist) Whether it be his past, his environment, personality and temper, his relationship with others or even himself. They're all fragments of what makes Maverick himself.

I would say that Horse With No Name has always stuck out to me. It was one of the first that I put into the playlist and it's meant to fit his journey. It's not holding onto the past, but rather being out in the wasteland finally starting to live his life after so long. There's a sense of bittersweet joy and release in the situation. It's very important not to make a character a punching bag. To have both good and bad; to have sorrow and triumph is integral to the character. It shows him taking in the world that he had been walled off from for most of his life. Despite the chaos there is beauty that is taken in. A chance to start again.

Genetic modification. That combined with age caused his patterns much more noticeable. But why does he have patterns in the first place? It's a long story with an Unstable S3LF that itself is represented as a chameleon. Maverick used to want to blend in, fulfil his purpose and die like the rest of the canon fodder. He gave everything to Nexus and what he believed was right. A long string of mistakes that weave into what he is now. It's ironic, that the very patterns meant to conceal him make him stand out.

In reality it was what survived in his redesign. The first reference I made of him was made in an hour in the middle of Artfight back in July. It was.... something. Aka not good. I cringe at it and want to pelt the old design with rocks. Although, it does show a lot of improvement with my art skills as well as the evolution of Maverick himself.

maverick is a big beefy guy... but is he a fat guy? a muscular guy? both? i think he's really neat :³

Normally he doesn't talk this much, but he just loves talking about his routine and work out. I've never seen him this excited. One simple ask and he's just a chatterbox!
