Squart here with more ocean critters
-The whale shark is the largest shark and is completely harmless.
-Sea turtles can hold their breaths for up to 8 hours.
-There are 2000 species of shrimp in the world (that we know of).
-Nudibranchs are mollusks, which means they are related to cephalopods, which makes sense if you've met them before.

-The frilled shark is one of the oldest living species of sharks, it might even date back to the late Jurassic!
-The gulper eel, true to its name, can swallow prey 11 times its size.

Squart back with some deep sea fuckos and facts for y'all.
-The humpback angler fish has an interesting mating ritual where the male, who is much smaller than the female, will attach itself to the female and fuse to her, giving her a permanent supply of sperm in exchange for nutrients.
-The big fin squid is a somewhat recent discovery. Not much is known since only a few specimens have been observed in nature, but we think that they use those extremely long tendrils to snag prey when they swim by.
-Chimeras are a type of fish related to sharks. The spine at the beginning of their dorsal fin is venomous.
-The colossal squid is considered to be the largest species of squid by mass.

More Midnight zoners!
The flashlight fish has bioluminescent organs beneath their eyes that contain light producing bacteria. The light can be "shut off" by a lid or by pulling the bacteria into a pouch.
The giant isopod is a wonderful example of a phenomenon called deep sea gigantism, where deep sea animals tend to be larger than their shallow water or land dwelling counterparts.
Epimeria loricata are a beurocratic society who keep strict records of all of their purchases and dealings.

Squart here bringing you the goods from the Twilight Zone. Things are starting to get freaky where the sunlight doesn't reach.
-Coelacanths were thought to be extinct for a while, but scientists found living specimens chilling in the deep, relatively physically unchanged from 400 million years ago.
-Cuttlefish have a unique bone in their body to control buoyancy called the cuttle bone.
-Goblin shark jaws can shoot out to catch their prey.
-The telescope fish can reach about 20 cm in length, thankfully not more. Can you imagine a 6 foot beast with that face swimming after you?
