Achilles Tendon Pain for the average person Achilles Tendon issues have always been at the forefront of problems for people wanting to run more. I’ve made this video for patients that want further clarification around how to prevent it or deal with it. For practitioners and students that follow me, I haven’t gone into the physiology behind it and have kept it pretty high level. I look forward to sharing more content   https://bit.ly/3kysVd3

FREE Telehealth consults ☺️ and news on stage 4 restrictions for us It’s tough for many of you if you’re not a critical case yet still require advice for treatment or self care. A lot of what you pay us at Melbourne Sports Podiatry to do is use our hands to assess and treat your concerns in the clinic. So I personally feel uneasy in charging for a “Telehealth” service and until the stage 4 lockdown finishes I will offer one on one online advice for free. I don’t picture ever doing this again because I am running a business and that’s just me being real. However I’ve had to cancel too many patients and feel shit about the fact that I can’t help new ones get a head start on their issues. So if you’re an existing client you probably already have my number. If you’re a new client needing to answer some questions I’m all ears. Book a consult on my website in my bio ☝🏽 or call 9596 4444 and one of our friendly team will book you in. If you’re in serious pain, are worried about infection or are worried about significant regression of an alignment without intervention I will happily treat you in person. Let’s get through this together!  https://bit.ly/2DU4XrC

My final diagram to demonstrate how the body connects from top to bottom or as I like to say generally from bottom to top (NOT BIAS CLEARLY 😂) When a muscle is tight instead of just releasing that muscle why aren’t you strengthening the opposing muscle? OR When a joint is stiff why aren’t you balancing the forces around the joint rather than pressing into it with a spikey ball? Understanding YOUR body is the difference between relieving pain and just managing it! https://bit.ly/2XHDSiB

This is one very fun but advanced exercise too incorporate your glutes and core with chest day! Give this a go if you want to challenge postural strength in conjunction with your dumbbell chest press! Obviously if you haven’t done it before reach out to your PT, Physio, Osteo or even me if you’d like some pointers .

It’s important to reflect and I just want to say a huge thanks for the support during Covid! For anyone that’s referred friends or even just genuinely replied or commented on Instagram stories, lives and videos... Thankyou! I stopped doing them ages ago with the fear of it being a little cringe and hard because of the content quality. However since re-starting in Covid Ive had great engagement and interaction pushing me to release more and more content slowly. So Thankyou 🙏🏾 I look forward to showing more and more why your feet are often the MISSING piece of the puzzle for concerns up the legs and body. In the meantime enjoy getting back in the gym and back on the track!  https://bit.ly/31a6AuW

Is foot pain ruining your Golf swing? Your big toe, heel and ball of your foot are the spots most likely to cause pain that can ruin your golf swing. Behind these pain-prone spots can lie stiff joints, stretched-out tissues and even nerve damage. But pain relief is possible and frequently does not require surgery. At Melbourne Sports Podiatry, we can help identify the issue and the source where your pain is coming from and gives you proper medical treatment and care. Give us a call at (03) 9596 4444 and speak to one of our Sports Podiatrist

Put away the ego 😅 as I know these squats are shallow! However this post is about breaking through DOMS!!! When you restart your training it’s almost inevitable that you may get some delayed onset of muscle soreness (DOMS). So instead of giving yourself a week to recover, give yourself a few days and push through that feeling with a lighter weight and hit the same reps. #adapt and even if your reps look like mine where you’re genuinely struggling to get the depth you’re after...you’re still working out the muscle!!! You are still showing up!!! And you WILL adapt.

One of my favourite runners strength supersets from last week. Copenhagens into a elevated side plank knee tuck.
Great for working core strength and stability, adductor strength and hip control. Sets and reps will depend on your strength levels and what goal you’re trying to achieve with the exercise. Give it a go and let me know how you go :)

Here we have Michael our physio taking Steve through some Sagittal plane step ups. It's about trying to relate positions similar to what Steve will be required to achieve when he’s fast bowling in cricket. As always, it's all about trying to return better than what you were originally and steve’s always doing extra so that he’s not just ordinary, but extraordinary, and thats how all acpac boys work!  https://bit.ly/38ovbMx
