Games Cracks Down the Walls of Our Teens
There is no doubt that video games are one of the most fun and addictive things that you can play. Games, as you all know are very popular these days. The reason for this popularity is the fun and excitement you get while playing the video games. However, the recent bad press about the world's food supply has made many parents and children to reconsider their love affair with video games. For those of you who are not aware of this, here are some facts that you should know to avoid the bad effects of video games.
First of all, games can be very addicting. The main character of your favorite game will be hooked on it like a drug addict would. You see, these addictive games can cause physical harm in your children. For example, there have been reports of young children who have become seriously ill because of too much gaming. In other words, these games can be very harmful to the health of children.
Secondly, these games also encourage violence in the home. The makers of these games must have known from the start that they were promoting bad influences in the minds of the users. However, it is becoming alarming. A few weeks ago, there was news of a twelve-year-old boy who shot his younger brother to death because the boy said that he did not like the games that his brother played. Needless to say, the boy will now spend the rest of his life in jail.
Thirdly, bad video game effects on the food supply should not be ignored. Games which require players to run around and beat enemies with a mace or a sword are not good for the food supply. These games tend to reduce family values and instill violence and the like into the mind of the player.
This means that the player is no longer seeing the outside world in the same way. He/she will be reducing the value of human life and thinking that violence is the answer to everything. And worse, the family who see their child act this way will eventually lose the family values and see their child as the enemy instead of a child who are trying to grow up into a person like them. Such games also teach children the value of money over food.
As for bad moods, these affect a lot more than the food and family values. When a child gets too depressed, it can lead him/her to do things that might be dangerous to his/her health. Kids will tend to play with matches, shoot their parents or siblings and so on.
How does all this affect us? Well, there are many scientists who believe that these trends will continue. They argue that the reduction of fun and play will lead to an increase in serious psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and other similar diseases. Are we dealing with a problem here? Yes, we are.
So, are you ready to fight this trend? Then, the answer is yes. You can start by keeping the food away from the computer and instead playing some brain games. These games will help improve your general mental condition.
Now here comes the tricky part. How to convince your kids to spend time playing brain games? This is where things get tricky. You may be able to persuade them through stories. According to studies, stories that tell about happy moments make people want to do good things. That's why the story about the cat curing the mouse when he eats his food properly, is a very successful story.
Kids are highly susceptible to stories and games. They are easily influenced by them. The first step is to introduce them to computer games which have good moods. That way, you will be able to convince them to spend time in a more pleasant environment.
You may even want to write them stories. According to researchers, this is one of the best ways to get them to be creative. If they like the story, they are likely to find solutions to their problems. In the end, we all know that a story without a moral is useless. So, tell them a story about how you helped a friend in need.
