remember that time that spock said “this is about sex” but he couldn’t say sex so instead he said “biology” and kirk clearly knew what he meant but was awkwardly like “what kind of biology” and spock got this look on his face like ‘oh lordy i’m not dealing with this today’ and said “vulcan biology” and kirk can’t say the word sex either so he goes “u mean the biology of vulcans” and then they stood there in silence for ten seconds like a pair of fucking idiots

First time watching Prodigy with a non Trekkie
It was really interesting to watch Prodigy with a friend who knows nothing about Star Trek, and to see how well Prodigy introduces a new audience to its themes, concepts, and worlds.
Whenever she had a question, one of the characters would almost immediately ask and answer that same question, which was a huge plus. Great writing there. You don't notice these things until you watch with someone who knows nothing about Trek. A lot of thought and effort went into seamlessly blending the questions and answers into the story.
She said Dal was annoying her, but that's because she realised he's essentially her, in her lack of Trek knowledge, and serves as the audience’s vessel, asking the questions the viewers might not know. Dal's role is absolutely crucial from the audience introduction side of Prodigy.
She really loved Gwyn and ofc Murf (his evolved state as well).
A lot of moments got to her as well. Tears were bent.
It was funny seeing her exhale in frustration during the S1 finale, saying, 'Can anything go right just for once???' xD
We reached and finished S2E5 before she had to go back home (she lives in a different city), and I had to ask her what she thought about the J/C status. She was like, 'Pffffft, they're romantically involved, no question about that.'
Oh, and she asked if all Star Trek was like this because she thought Trek was just a bunch of people in a room talking diplomacy, lol.
