Dream creatures

You came to me once in a dream; I have not forgotten you. I carry you in my memories, hoping that if I think of you hard enough you’ll return to my side.

The walls were splattered with blood, the lights flashing a dull white-red as nothing was left uncovered with bloodshed.

You had to be seven feet from chest to feet; 8 from head to feet. You watched me from yellow honey eyes. teeth bared, vicious monster, protective force, unmoved by the scene before you. You took up the whole space of the hallway, your head lowered menacingly so you could make yourself fit.

You lowered your head further when you looked at me; you bowed down on your front legs. Your white and hazelnut fur was sparkled with blood, your muzzle bathed in it. But you were close enough that I saw the sandy undercoat of your fur and felt your breath fan my face.

I still can’t understand why I wasn’t afraid of you even though you emmanated an aura of danger, death, and deciet; I trusted you with my life even.

A dangerous thing; you giant wolf-beast, a he wolf-beast.

Somehow you spoke to me.

I long to see you again; hopefully soon.

Maybe this time you can speak to me again the way you did that night; a whispering of words and feelings in my mind.

Spirits and Names

It used to be fully understood that the same rules to do not apply to every species of spirit. Of course they wouldn’t. it would be ignorant to think that right? Yet spirit workers do it everyday and harass those who don’t fall in line with their misguided rules. You saw the title of this post, you know what this is about, spirits and the topic of names. Everyone knows the faerie rule that you don’t tell faeries your name and you don’t ask for theirs, instead you ask what you may call them and tell them what they may call you. This way you are not lying by saying ‘my name is -insert false name’ and you aren’t giving them you real name. Now not all fae will use your name against you somehow, some don’t care, but it is always better to be safe then sorry. This is all understandable and reasonable. This is something people have said about faeries for a long, long time, yet this is where the lines start to get blurred and people loose their heads. Faeries rules only apply to faeries. 

It’s what makes it a faeries rule. You wouldn’t assume an angel’s culture, rules, and the way you work with them is the same as a vampires, so why is this the exception? When did it stop becoming a faerie rule are start becoming a spirit work rule that causes you to get attacked if you don’t follow it. I will be honest with you, I don’t know. I think it may have something to do with the topic of summoning and spirit stealing. While it isn’t as big of a problem as people like to act like it is there are those small few assholes that can and will steal people companions. Why? Usually out of some misguided sense of justice. We all know the type, the spirit worker who acts like their life is a YA novel and that they have to save spirits from the evil clutched of tumblr usesr faeriewhispers33  (i don’t know if that’s an actual user i just made it up). Anyway, it leads to people being paranoid. More and more you see posts along the lines of ‘NEVER POST YOUR SPIRIT COMPANIONS NAME’ and ‘DONT TELL SPIRITS YOUR NAME’ and they always use the faerie rule to back up their argument, suddenly it’s no longer out of fear that someone will use your companions name as a way to summon them and steal them from you now it’s for your safety. 

Here the thing, it’s almost impossible to keep a spirit from learning your name if you work with them outside of the astral. Most spirit workers love to work with their companion in their home, it’s easier then astral travel. Yet there are dozens of people in your life that could metaphorically ‘spill the beans’ just by greeting you or calling you for dinner. It is impossible to keep something as simple as your name a secret. This may shock you a bit but, most spirits don’t care what your name is. Why? because they aren’t faeries and these rules don’t apply to them. 

Now on the topic of your companions names. Some people don’t say their companions names publicly because that is the spirits preference, most people have a nickname for their companion in these cases but let me share a secret with you. The chance that your companions name is a name that exists in the human language is slim and 50% of the time the name you are given is a nickname. Not because the spirit doesn’t trust you with their name, but because their name is not translatable or pronounceable in our language. This is also why a lot of people who attempt to use a Ouija board to get a spirits name get a button mashed fuckery of random letters that make no sense. I can guarantee your companions name isnt KXGJA. Now there are a few times where the name can be translated and it does manage to match up with a human name or just something pronounceable. So while you should respect your companions wishes and keep their name a secret if they want, even if it’s a nickname, don’t jump to conclusions and attack those whose companions couldn’t care less. 

I am not threatening my companions by using their ‘names’ on the internet, they don’t care. If they did care, I wouldn’t do it. In case it wasn’t clear enough.

My experience with talking to two Gem Fae

I haven’t ever really strongly worked with fae, at least not normally. I never saw an interest in them, and so I stayed away. Fae, however, have always seemingly been interested in me; I’d often hear bell chimes / find single strand knots in my hair when I started the craft and onwards.

However, when a friend came to me asking me to see if there was a spirit inside of a tumbled rose quartz they have, I discovered a small, weak spirit crying. This spirit resembled rose quartz in many ways; her skin was rose-coloured, with her wings like points of the gem, and with eyes the colour of a cloudy sample of the stone. She seemed hurt, and I approached her slowly. She was defensive, originally telling me to stay away, but as I noticed her crying, she let me get closer. I asked why she was in this stone, if she was forced, and if she wanted out. She told me that it was her home, that tumbling had hurt her energy, and that she was not forced. She asked me to leave once again, and I did. When I informed my friend of what happened and the spirit in there, they were rather surprised as they had wished to work with spirits for a while.

A month or so later, I received a tumbled piece of amethyst that gave off a similar energy as the rose quartz stone. I noticed a similar figure bound to it, and approached them. This Amethyst fae was more friendly, and actually responded to the energy i offered them. They had similar features to the rose quartz fae; wings like crystal points, eyes like cloudy violet, and light violet skin. This fae also has antennae that end in what appear to be chunks of amethyst. 

I approached them similarly to how I approached the Rose Quartz fae, and was greeted by a smiling face. I asked them if they were alright, and if they liked being in the gem, and was met with a similar answer. The stone is their home, and they were not forced into it. This fae, however, explained to me how being tumbled separated them from other fae, which they wished to be away from. Instead of being hurt by the tumbling process, this fae was empowered by it. I asked them about their life, and if they were born into the stone or attached themselves within time, and they explained that they were born into the cluster and attached themselves to a singular point on the cluster, which was later tumbled. They showed me some of their astral space, and asked a few questions about me and how I had gotten their stone. Their astral home was beautiful, everything looked to be carved out of the stone they lived in. 

I asked them if they wished to work with me, as their vessel is now in my hands, and they replied a small “Not yet,” and with that, I said my goodbyes.

Deep Sea mermaids

Alrighty; its been quite a while since I’ve made a post, but here’s one anyways.

So, I have a bad habit of Astral Traveling when I’m in the middle of class; I don’t know how, but hey, it happens. Anywho, a few days ago I went “deep-sea fishing” I guess, and ended up in who knows where at the bottom of the ocean. There I met a cool boy; his name is “A”, and being the nosy little butt I am, I knew that I would likely never run into anybody as pretty as this boy again, so I jumped on the chance to ask him as much about his species as I could. He was nice; really smooth and pleasant voice; you could fall asleep to this thing, it was like a lullaby when he spoke. Hit record and I’d be out. Anyways, his species, a type of deep sea merfolk. I drew out some pictures as to what he looked at as more of a guide for you guys to see what I mean.

He had this kind of Opal-escent like skin; it reflected at the smallest amount of light; again, he was beautiful I swear. His ears were kind of like fins in a sense, apparently they doubled as sonar receptors; meaning he could pick up deep sea chatter. His eyes though were real cool. There are two kinds of eyes that he said that he had.

The first was one that he used when he went into shallower water or to the surface (I really don’t think he goes up there a lot tbh).  Like us, hes able to see in bright light; go figure. But here’s the cool part.

Now when he goes back down, in the dark, a sort of second eye lid covers his eyes. Apparently it acts as a protector for them if hes ever attacked, but it also allows him to see in the dark better than if he didn’t have that kind of skin on. It acted like an eye patch; you know, how a pirate would cover one eye so that if hes ever fighting, he could uncover the eye and see in the dark if he were to go from a sunny place to a dark place; kinda like that.

So I bet you’re asking whats up with his neck, so, he has skin obviously; but from below his jawline; to part of his upper chest he has some thin scales. They for a kind of upside down triangle, and from what he told me, it glows in the dark when hes looking for a mate. And beneath that, he had some large gills. Now there we would have our lungs obviously, but he has the large gill covers that are in threes. It reminded me of a shark, but apparently they’re different.

Now to his back. It has 6 fins; that generate electricity. They’re sort of rounded, but also have small spines where they connect to the back. They can also pick up vibrations in the water since they’re so sensitive, and they act as tiny propellers in a way.

His fins were white; sorry about the image its a bit big; but if you zoom in you can see my little notes. Ok, so from below the stomach and organs and such, I don’t know why you can only see his bones but that’s apparently how it works, you have this little transparent spot on his fin. It ends about halfway through, but it glows in the dark so that they can see on the sea floor. In a sense I guess its like how jellyfish down there generate their bio-luminescence or something. A’s fins were rounded, not split, so he was a strong swimmer, but kind of slow. They looked flat but pretty strong, but still a fish fin, not like a Ray or anything. His large fin was white too; so he was just this white fish boy who never saw light lol.

In the dark this is how it looked. He was pretty cool; and seemed friendly enough. Again, the prettiest boy I’ve ever met, so if you ever decide to go down there, try to find one of them. Although, I don’t think all of them would be as friendly as he, so still be careful; some things down there will scare the living daylights out of you.

Interview with a Draconi Chief

So I have been interacting with a village of dragon type spirits who call themselves the Draconi. They have a leader who asks me to call him Chief. He agreed to an interview.

You said previously that some humans had attempted to come here before. Why were they not accepted?

 They were obnoxious. They came in loud and commandeering. They didn’t care to know us, they just expected us to work with them. 

Did they come together?

They were a pair, partners. 

From looking at the town, it appears that the work here is communal. Are all Draconi like this? 

It is a vital part of our culture. We function as a giant family unit and sharing the work-load is an important part of that. 

What happens when one Draconi has done wrong? Are there punishments? 

*A long pause follows. He is reluctant to say* I am the Chief for a reason. 

Do you worship a deity? 

There are some local sea gods we give homage to. 

Any holidays?

Two feasts, Feast of the Dragonstar and Olorum Dai. 

What do those holidays entail?

Dragonstar is a celebration of magic and history. We have a feast at the end, but mostly it is a time of education for the children. Olorum Dai: I can’t tell you much, it is sacred. We have rituals but the rest is secret.  

When do you meet with the other villages? Any villages you’re not on good terms with? 

Just in trading and passing. They are close by so it happens. There have been disputes, but nothing overly antagonistic.

 Do you make music, or tell stories? 

At the Feast of the Dragonstar we tell stories, or lessons that teach the children the ways of magic. They are sacred words that are passed down through generations. 

Are all Draconi fisherman?

No, but most of them do tend to like the taste of fish. 

My ability to see and understand form is still spotty, so I was wondering. I noticed wings on the children, but the adults I have seen don’t have noticeable wings. Do you still have them, or does that change as you grow older? 

*Responds by expanding gigantic grey feathered wings. He stands tall and dignified*

Asking your companions for forgiveness

I think that there is something that needs to be said that I don't see happening a lot in the spirit community. This is also something I am having to learn. I have been out of touch with my friends for a while now as I have been dealing with extreme emotional distress. I know that my very first companion is very upset with me and I feel so horrible for neglecting all of my companions because I have been told that they have been keeping an eye on me. Stopping by to check in on me. So this morning I finally took some time to light my candle, as a sign of the relationships I intend to work on one at a time and told my companion, El to take his time in communicating with me as I know that he probably has a lot to say. I lit this candle after a long, sincere apology and stating my intentions to talk with him. It is very important that you recognize your faults when work I g with spirits and that you apologize when you know you are wrong. I hope this gets the attention it needs and helps raise some kind of awareness.

talking spirit binding with El

so El, i know we have had a few discussions on this topic, but what is your view on spirit binding?

“as long as the spirit is willing to be bound and agrees to the type of binding taking place, i see problem with it.”

what are your views on the different types of bindings< what do they mean to you?

“well we have really only touched on partial bindings and full bindings... my view on partial binding is that it’s easier for a busy spirit like myself because it allows the spirit to just attach a small amount of their own energy so that it can quickly find it’s companion (which is what i want because sometimes i have a lot of trouble finding you when you are not at home and not inviting me to come see you)”

so you do want to be bound? you’re 100% sure?

“well yes, plus it would be a waste if we didn’t put that beautiful moonstone you picked out to some good use.”

well i did also write a ritual that i think you’d like

“you did!?!?!?”

yep!!!

“when i am ready i will let you know, can i see what you wrote?” (he said this with a lot more excitement than i expected haha)

of course. so what about full bindings, what is your opinion of it?

“well i don’t know much about it but from what i do know it is similar to attaching a spirit to an object (not the energy but the full spirit).”

“i feel that if a spirit wishes to do that and wants to be available 24/7 then that is up to them. i think that in some cases a full binding probably could be a great idea for a spirit (to get away from a bad situation by moving in with a friend they can trust.”

i guess that makes sense, El. i never thought about it that way.

Interview with El

I have a lot of questions from friends and myself and my companion has agreed to answer these questions. I will ask the questions by person as many had more that one question to ask.

Person 1 What is your specialty? “ as a water elemental my specialty is magic that revolves around water. I am best with healing (helping to ease pain) and ridding of negative energies. I am also good in business as I help keep the water spirits in our community in line with each other.”

Do you like ice cream? “Lyra has never shared ice cream with me before, but if she likes it I probably would also enjoy it, but I do like the salsa her mom makes.”

Do you have a cat or dog? If not do you want one? “I like cats and dogs but it would not be good for me to have one as i live in the water” (he also becomes a part of living bodies of water which I recently learned as well)

Is there a set number of elementals? “As of now we are 7, but as more are needed we are elected from our community. Elementals are of different races such as undines mermaids/mermen and water fairies (not faery, he says they live separate from his community) and other water spirits although “elemental is also a race, it is hard to describe exactly what we are”

Can you reproduce? “Yes. We can reproduce.” (Haha he is a little reluctant to talk about the birds and the bees)

Do you share the same type of personality as other elementals? “No. We are all different. (He said “like humans” but wants to reword it) just as there are different types of water there are different types of water elemental; I am from fresh water (I did not know that) so I am more… Friendly and honest although I will not say that an ocean water elemental is mean or dishonest they are just very blunt and tend to keep more secrets.“

Person 3 Can you see what our souls look like? (Can you look at a person and see like wings or something?) *cute chuckling* “I cannot, although if you are asking if I can see the astral form of a person then the answer is yes, but I cannot see souls.”

Persons 4 and 5 What lies in the deepest depths of the several trenches and abysses that we cannot see ourselves? Reworded by person 5 as What kind of fucking nightmares live at the bottom of the ocean? ” there are somany things in the ocean that even as a water elemental I am not sure what all lies down there. I think a water elemental that works/ lives in the ocean could answer this better though.“

Person 6 Do you have a favorite person? If so who is it? “I have a lot of friends but I think lyra is my favorite person. She is very kind and generous to both myself and the phoenix she works with.”

Person 7 How do you attract a water elemental? “Each one is different, although you could start by being close to the water more. For me I was drawn to Lyra because I felt a strong, sincere, patient invocation of water and any spirits of water who were kind, honest, and willing to just share time with her. Many came, which I don’t think she realized, but I wanted to talk with her, she was the most beautiful; playing in the water.”

Person 8 What kind of water magic do you like? “Healing mostly, but I also like protection and cleansing magic as well. Im also good with spells dealing with business… Starting a business or getting a job…stuff like that”

My questions

Are you mad at me for not believing in my experience when we first met? “ no. I knew a time would come where I could offer you my help again so when I saw you in pain I showed myself to you to help because I knew if you saw me again you would believe me more, most humans are like this.”

Am I fun to work with? “I like working with you. You always make sure your needs are taken care of and your schedule is very flexible. You think about us all the time and always look for offerings or gifts you think we might like.”

How do you feel about our relationship? “I think we have a very strong friendship.” *looks away*

How would you feel of i learned to astral project (something I am working on)? “I would love it! I would love being able to show you where I live and work with you there!”

A reading with AE the phoenix I did this so that we can learn the cards together! He is best at communicating telepathically and through pendulum but sometimes I cannot always talk telepathically and cannot access my pendulum. I carry my tarot cards with me everywhere so while doing this reading I set the guidebook close to where he was sottong and told him he could use. This to help him choose his message I had to keep telling him not to answer the questions as I asked them. He told me when to quit shuffling and draw a card. 1. What advice do you have for me? XIX the sun "happiness" Stay happy and positive. I care about your happiness and well-being. 2. What is your advice on my situation? XI strength "stability" Remain strong, calm, and patient. Things will work themselves out with time and patience. Do not become too caught up and too stressed. 3. How do you feel about me now? XII the hanged man "limbo" I am stuck in my opinion of you. /(opinion not fully formed?) he then asked me to draw one more card. Page of cups "imagination" you are fun to work with and a joy to be around.I find that I enjoy spending time with you and learning with you. After the reading I was shuffling g as we talked a bit more telepathically And the six of pentacles "gereosity" fell out. Naturally I glance at it and put it back and he said "HEY! That was for you!" So I asked "Do you think I am generous?" He told me "Yes. You give us (him and El) your time, you are patient with us, and always give us something. Even now you burn an incense because you know I like it. When El works with you, you light your water votive candle. You are giving me your time now for us to learn the cards and you always show us off to your friends online. I was happy to hear he thinks well of me even if he doesn't have a full opinion of me yet.

A spirit must tell me if they interfere with my magic for the good of my household.

No spirits of a sexual nature may have any sexual contact with any member of my household, including me, unless it is specifically requested.

No spirit may pretend to be something/someone they are not. Remain true to your real identity.

No spirit may start conflict with another spirit that lives here.

No spirit may interfere with my communications with other spirits. You may not interrupt or alter the messages sent between me and another spirit.

No spirit may interfere with my personal relationships, including my relationships with other spirits.

All spirits should help me judge the character of new spirits entering in to the household.
