I have finally gotten around to editing chapter 3! Treke and Siku work together to catch a huge possessed fish in their island's lagoon. You can read the chapter on my website.

I'm changing my mind, I want to make them genderfluid. He/she loves dressing up in all kinds of wild outfits.
Another pirate fuglan, this time a grassland/sea hybrid. Apparently he likes bugs. I'm thinking about making him a T4T boyfriend of Hrazu.

I think with having a species that has low sexual dimorphism, it's hard to depict that a fuglan might be transfem or transmasc without outright saying they are. They don't have obvious secondary sex traits, maybe aside from chin spines that look like beards, but even that isn't the best indicator. Being a trans fuglan is more complicated and nuanced, such as having strong masculine or feminine energy opposite of their sex, but what that may even be I don't even know sometimes because that's also cultural. It's generally more of a gender vibe than physical dysphoria. Even anything, fuglans just don't experience dysphoria in the same way or intensely that humans do with their sex. When I say a character is trans, we're going to have to chalk it up to "just trust me on this one" and leave it at that.

Kudaks are getting a redesign because I wasn't happy with how they looked. The original concept of these critters is nearly 30 years old and so they've gone through a lot of changes. Originally males had leathery wings on their back and females had feathery wings on their back, and there was both frugivore and carnivore species, but I decided to go with feathers and a frugivore diet.
I need to update their info on the website, but I need to get around to drawing a better illustration first.

Commission I did for Biff the Moose! He asked for a green forest fuglan wandering through the woods.

Reminder to self to update this character and give him a name. He's short, angry, and transmasc. He's likely stabbed a few people in the shins for making fun of his height.
Edit: His name is Hrazu!

I keep forgetting I have pirate fuglan OCs and I should draw them more. Most pirates on Alaruk tend to be sea fuglans hybrids since they're the most populous at sea, although pirates of other tribes are not unheard of.

Updates for the Spirits of Alaruk story are going to be sporadic again for awhile. I finally have some beta readers for earlier chapters and I plan on going back and rewriting a lot of parts. I'm still working on the game demo too. My goal is to get both finished before next year! After that, I'm interested in continuing game development and turning the demo into something bigger.

I made a stream tileset to my game and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! The water even animates!
