Ref sheet of Kasai (火災), my crow spirit tengu OC and my pride and joy! They were once a normal crow that refused to pass on after death, and now serve as a guardian of the spirits.
Kasai once lived as a normal crow on the outskirts of a temple. Day after day, Kasai would play tricks on the monks there and steal shiny coins and whatever holy objects they could get their claws on.
However, one day they noticed that the monks seemed to have fallen on hard times, so they returned everything that they had stolen previously out of remorse. Even after returning everything, they would still come back to leave the humans some small gifts and trinkets. Kasai would return every day to observe the humans, but always from a distance. They became known as a local legend, who was beloved by the inhabitants.
Unfortunately, the time had come for Kasai's short life to pass, and the monks mourned when the familiar crow no longer returned. However, there were rumors that on certain nights, a ghostly crow surrounded by pale flames would wait outside the perimeter, still watching over the temple.
