Bugust Day 5 - Honey

Can you talk about the wasp kin AU? Like, whats its point of divergence from canon, how 'xactly does it differ...?

Wasp Kin revolves around the Hoaxe, in the main game knows as Wasp King. And the name already suggests where the diveregence starts! (Actually a bit earlier, but still)

Hoaxe demonstrates surprising endurance, resolve and determination throughout hus original story - surviving Dead Lands as a kid, brewing his hatred in secrecy, ploying his revenge and having zero doubts when making it. Of course, part of its is a psychopathic trait developed from trauma, but still. The only problem is that it was channeled to the dark oath because wasps has to be pricks.

The key event that changed in story is Fuff. Concerned about rising activity of Deadlanders (another key point), he seeks information about what is happening here. Luckily enough, some time ago across reports there was a note about a crystal and a faux wasp found under it, and seemingly said 'wasp' was surviving the Dead Lands all his life. Fuff finds Hoaxe, only to see the conditions he has to live and signs of battery.

Now, question. Why would one do with a clearly resilient, tenacious young lad with promising survival skills when there is a sudden surge of monstrous creatures this exact guy was able to evade?

So yes, Fuff enlists Hoaxe. Not into common wasp soldiers, but specifically for the scouting role.

Hoaxe still has to endure amounts of misery, but now he has a purpose, common amenities given by other people, and quite a few figures who not only not harassing him, but generally don't mind being decent. Namely, Fuff, Vanessa II (albeit of course she wouldn't actively bessech Hoaxe's company, she still would be pretty lenient abd understanding - as much as position allows), Jayde (of course), Wasp 'Traitor' (this is how in the game files the Blue Bandana Scout in the prison named), an unnamed yet wasp healer OC ("It's the third time this moon you came here bleeding!"). Also might add "prove your worth" Ksar (combat mentor wasp), and, you wouldn't believe me, Tarantular (spider sorcerer) also is involved to some extent. In the end Hoaxe grows into a powerful asset for Wasp Kingdom, having the respect he wanted and having a purpose - mainly just his hatred channelled against Deadlanders instead of wasps and the whole world.

Both looming danger of Deadlanders and Hoaxe's involvement changes a few thing for Team Snakemouth. First, Wasp Kingdom makes a few ally pacts with surrounding lands to strengthen the borders. This also includes Northern Kingdoms, which results with Master, Bit and Kabbu coming into Bugaria through Wasp Kingdom instead of Swamplands. You can see how it changes some things :)

Instead of being a menace, wasps lurk around Bugaria searching for Deadlanders presence, so Team Snakemouth would meet them as curious encounters. In other things, until chapter five, nothing particularly different for main trio - but most in the places where they usually meet wasps as enemies there are, you've guessed it, Deadlanders (including the attack on Honey Factory Core)

From Five chapter... well, that's a story for later.

Bugust Day 4 - Inn retreat

had a dream last night where marbles were back en vogue and everyone carried their marbles around in cute little pouches that they'd clip onto their backpacks or purse straps or belt loops so they'd always have their marbles on them and your marbles were deeply personal objects that showcased your individual personality and people would get really passionate and proud of them and playing for keeps was a deeply serious and honor-bound affair and i played a game with an old man while waiting for a bus and he told me how he met his wife while playing in a for-keeps tournament and in a miracle shot he knocked out her most precious marble a brilliant sparkling green one with an inside like a geode and when he looked up he found she was crying at its loss and so right there on the spot he proposed to her so that she could divorce him and take it back in the divorce "but in the end," he told me, "she kept me and the marble" and i awoke teary and resentful to be ripped from a fleeting world that had found for itself such a small and beautiful peace
