Hey y'all! Was going to post something about my weekend, but as promised, we're here promoting our very next show! For most, it's just another DIY show in Oklahoma City on a Sunday. For us, it's the beginning of us getting back on our bullshit. We haven't been that active these last couple of years for reasons that we're not ready to talk about (if at all), so this is us getting back to what we love the most: performing for you all! And we couldn't be happier with who all we're playing with. And In The Darkness I Was Free have become good friends these last couple of years. We played with them back in September 2022 for a mental health awareness event and have played a couple more shows with them. They're great! If you haven't heard them, check out their tunes! Discern have been on our radar since seeing them open for Jeromes Dream in May 2023. They're young and relatively new but kick serious ass like they've been playing for years. They also linked us up with a couple of the dudes from This Will Destroy You (who we played with back in November 2024 @ Beer City) while they were playing in their other band God Shell. Jaw/Line, like AITDIWF, have become the homies over the last couple of years. We played with Jaw/Line back in February 2023 opening for Porcelain. Jason from Traindodge/Rainbows Are Free had nothing but great things to say about them, and that set made me a fan. We've been wanting to play with each other's bands again since then, and we're happy we're getting to make that happen. Show is $10. 7:00PM Doors 7:30PM Show It's going to take place at the Sanctuary, 1012 N Indiana Ave in Oklahoma City. We're real stoked to get to play there again.

Hello there, anyone taking the time to read this!

I can’t believe how long it’s been since we’ve posted on here. 2016, while close to a decade ago, seems like a different lifetime.

To explain what all has been up since we’ve last posted here:

- We’ve been busy playing shows with a lot of cool bands. Maybe you’ve heard of some of them? Chat Pile, This Will Destroy You, Record Setter, Ben Quad, Tiny Voices, Excuse Me, Who Are You?, Glassing, Porcelain, and many others.

- We recorded and released Adirondack via Clerestory AV. Bartees, a former member of the band and current musician known as Bartees Strange (4AD Records), notably mixed the EP. We received pretty decent press coverage from Bandcamp, Brooklyn Vegan, The Hard Times, and the Takeover. We sold vinyl to the UK and Japan, which was surreal.

- in March 2023, Cody, our bassist up to that point, parted ways. Cody played in the band from May 2017-March 2023, almost six years, which made him our longest serving bassist.

- Prior to Cody’s departure, we finished up a brand new EP with three new songs. I’m not sure when we’ll release it just yet, but I’m hoping either the end of this year or early next year. I can’t wait for you all to hear it! A giant leap in the musical evolution of Speak, Memory.

- In 2024, we found our new bassist. Her name is Cheyenne, and she’s everything one could ever want in a bandmate: organized, proficient, always willing to try different variations of a bass part, and cool as hell.

- I’ll write a separate post dedicated to this, but on 8.24.2025, we’re playing a show at the Sanctuary! $10. 7PM. Do it!
