Grew up in Detroit. Dad worked for Ford. Have vague memories being there as a very young child before it burned down.

Christmas At The Ford Rotunda, December 1961 (with a 1962 Ford Falcon station wagon).

Sure would like to get back to Curacao. Love it there!

Willemstad - Curacao
Willemstad is the capital of the Caribbean island of Curacao, a constituent country of the Netherlands. The city has an estimated population of 150,000, and is one of the largest oil handling ports in the Caribbean. Colourful townhouses line the waterfront, and you could be forgiven for thinking you were in the Netherlands, if not for hot, steamy climate and the nearby beaches.
The city is popular for its galleries and street cafes. The old town area is rich with 17th & 18th century architecture, including fortifications, and many examples of diverse building styles. These buildings have earned the city a UNESCO heritage listing.

A drink I plan to try tomorrow.

Blue Reef
Light Puerto Rican Rum - 2 oz
Lime Juice - 1 ½ oz
Blue Curaçao - 1 ½ oz
Galliano - ½ oz
Shake everything with ice cubes and strain into a snifter filled with crushed ice.
From Beachbum Berry’s “Grog Log”. Unfortunately no information about the inventor was given.
It’s another blue drink that’s actually delicious; generally speaking, none of the drinks picked out by Mr. Jeff Berry are too bad.
This is a quite a mild drink with a dry base; pronounced lime and orange flavours; the Galliano adds that very needed extra sweetness as well as a beautiful anise and vanilla finish. The drink would have been very boring without it.
