“ Whenever a Trump supporter asks you to "name one time Trump was racist," feel free to link to this....
1973: The Nixon administration sued Trump for refusing to rent to black people.
1980s: Trump's casinos were accused of hiding the black staff when Trump visited.
1989: Trump took out a full-page ad, arguing for the death penalty for a group of black men (The 'Central Park Five'), effectively putting a bounty on their heads, and plaguing them with a lifetime of death threats. He was sued by the Justice Department for discrimination.
1991: “Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kinds of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day… I think that the [black] guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault, because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is.”
1992: Trump's casino was fined $200,000 for transferring black dealers off certain tables to appease racist patrons.
1993: Trump said Native American casinos shouldn’t be allowed because “they don’t look like Indians to me.”
2000: Trump ran a series of attack ads against Native American casinos alleging (with no proof) that they were guilty of crimes.
2004: Trump fired a black contestant from 'The Apprentice' for being over-educated.
2010: Trump argued in favor of segregating Muslims in Lower Manhattan.
2011: Birtherism. Trump alleged that Obama was Kenyan based on nothing but skin color. He never apologized nor renounced that claim.
2015 (1): Trump called Mexican immigrants "rapists" who are "bringing crime and drugs" to the U.S.
2015 (2): Trump called for "a ban on all Muslims entering the U.S."
2016 (1): Trump called for a Mexican judge to recuse himself based on nothing other than his race. Paul Ryan said this was “the textbook definition of a racist comment.”
2016 (2): Trump regularly retweeted material from white supremacists and neo-Nazis during his campaign.
2016 (3): Trump tweeted a picture alleging that Hillary was Jewish, or controlled by Jewish people.
2016 (4): The Trump campaign adopted Nixon's "Law and Order" rhetoric which was based in racial fearmongering.
2016 (5): Trump told black voters "What do you have to lose?"
2017 (1): Trump asked a reporter to set up a meeting with the black caucus simply because she was black.
2017 (2): "...some very fine people on both sides" said Trump of a violent Nazi rally.
2017 (3): Trump said people from Haiti "all have AIDS" and people from Nigeria would never “go back to their huts” after seeing America.
2018 (1): Trump called Haiti and African countries shitholes.
2018 (2): Trump referenced the trail of tears to mock Elizabeth Warren.
2019: Trump tweeted that four black and brown congresswomen should go back where they came from. Then attacked Elijah Cummings. Then Baltimore. Then Al Sharpton.
2020: Trump called black protesters "THUGS" just days after calling white protesters "very good people." Then he threatened to direct the military to shoot the black protestors in the street.”-Translate Trump

Reminder that Stonewall wasn’t about marriage equality. Stonewall was about police brutality. It was about systemic abuse and subordination. Stonewall was spearheaded by black trans women. As we celebrate Pride 2020, within the context of the Black Lives Matter riots, it’s imperative that we remember that.
Riots in protest of police brutality are the reason that we have more rights today. Do not forget your roots.
You can’t celebrate Pride while simultaneously condemning the Black Lives Matter riots and protests that are happening right now. Know your history.

I want old aros so badly. I want a history. I want a future. I want tales of lives that I understand. I want to see myself in a future where I’m happy and comfortable.
But I don’t have that, so I’ll have to build it.

Ok so I don’t consider myself ace or aro but I just got pissed at a post so I’m gonna put this out into the world.
Platonic partners and friends ARE DIFFERENT CONCEPTS. Like yeah, a platonic partner probably does and should fit under the category of “friend” also - just as a romantic partner should!!! But a regular friend probably isn’t someone you might plan to move across the country with and live with for a long time/life. With a QPP there’s a much firmer expectation of commitment and prioritization and depth/endurance/strength of relationship. I wish more than anything that my best friend could be my QPP but she is straight, in a happy relationship, and committed to that. We’re still one of each other’s closest relationships, but while she has space for me in her heart and life as a dear friend, she does not have the space in her heart and life for me as a QPP. It would require space to be freed up that is, for her, in use for/reserved for a romantic relationship.
Friendships are great, and in the past, “friend” might have been an adequate blanket term that included QPPs. But it’s no longer specific enough for some people or some relationships. And some people want different, and in some aspects better, terminology - and that terminology exists! And they’re free to use it if they feel it’s accurate! Imo, it’s similar to the bi/pan distinction that way: Depending on your definition, there may or may not be a difference, but some people prefer certain terminology and that’s completely their right!!! It’s not your call!! Instead of brushing people off, make an effort to educate yourself!
Holy fuck, this is like, the most basic of concepts for any queer person with a concept of empathy! Just because you don’t understand it doesn’t mean it’s not true or real or valid!
So, rant over. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

the most important thing to me ever is bi kids knowing that it’s ok to be 10% attracted to women and 90% attracted to men or 10% attracted to men and 90% attracted to women and still feeling ok to identify as bi, and still feeling like their identity is valid, and still feeling like they can lead fulfilling lives with both (or other) genders. like that’s just so fricking important.

every holocaust memorial day, i always ask people to keep romani people in their thoughts, but this year i’d like to clear up some misconceptions that i see every year w/ a psa
romani people are not white. we’re south asian (from northern india), and each subgroup has a unique racial makeup of asian/white/etc, in different amounts. this is also why we vary wildly in physical appearance/skintone
we still face oppression. what we face, especially in europe, can still be constituted as attempted genocide, as we’re forced to live in hazardous conditions or to give away our children, be sterilized, etc just for the crime of being roma
the ‘g slur’ isn’t just an american issue. the reason some european roma prefer the slur is because, in many countries, there is no term for roma that isn’t a slur, and it’s either the g slur or the literal translation of the n word. i’m romanian, and if you used the slur in my hometown, you’d get slapped, since we just use ‘roma’.
we live in every continent across the world. some of the largest romani populations exist in south america, predominantly in brazil. they are no more and no less roma than their european counterparts, and they, like romani in asia, africa, etc all face unique challenges and oppression.
we’re the largest ethnic minority in europe, and yet have almost no political power, no land ownership power (in some places, we’re forbidden from owning land entirely), etc. with very few reputable charities- a lot of us reject charity by principle, as well as there being a general lack of education about us- the best thing you can do to help romani people is to just spread information, and help individuals when you can.

jane austen really just repeatedly said “the sexiest thing a man can be is kind, selfless, attentive and honest about his feelings” and, as always, she was correct every single time
