Hiraizumi, Japan: Tragedies in Pure Land by Gift N. T.
Author’s Note: My Hiraizumi travelogue, including the continuation of the tales of Minamoto no Yoshitsune and Benkei, Japan’s historical-mythical figures who are the inspirations behind Ushijima Wakatoshi and Ohira Reon, respectively. As a fellow Haikyuu!! fan, reading about your pilgrimage trip brought tears to my eyes. It was such a delight to read and I learned so much. I'm from the Philippines. I'm planning to visit Miyagi on my next trip to Japan and your post has been very informative. Thank you for sharing tips, your photos, and your wonderful experience! :-)
Hello, it’s nice to meet a fellow fan from somewhere so close. Thank you so much for your message. I’m elated (I honestly never expected to get a message) and the fact that my stories got you emotional made me feel emotional, too. I’m happy to have been of help and will be even happier to provide more information if you need it, so feel free to ask anytime. Have a safe and unforgettable trip and if you plan to write stories/share photos from your own trip in the future, you can send me the link if you want to!
P.S. Actually, I’m leaving for Japan again next Friday. This time, I’m going to a few obscure onsen towns from which Seijoh and Shiratorizawa characters got their last names and some stadiums in Tokyo. I hope to have all posts about these pilgrimage locations up before the end of this year, but if you’re going to Japan soon and want to visit, you can contact me. Information from my hands-on experience will be available after May 14, which is the day I’ll be back home.

Haikyuu!! Location Hunting Story
Kyoto, Japan: Another Dimension in the Torii Tunnels at Fushimi Inari Shrine by Gift N. T.
Author’s Note: Fushimi Inari Shrine itself isn’t directly related to Haikyuu!!. The myths surrounding it (and other Inari shrines) seem to be, though, as explained in the Inarizaki and Miya meta toward the end of the post.
