day 2: new oc!
a day late due to car troubles, but here's my entry for oc-tober day 2: new oc! made these guys last week heheh. theyre a personification of the 51 pegasi system, with the exoplanet (dimidium or 51 pegasi b) being super super close to its star (helvetios or 51 pegasi) , orbiting it in only 4 days!
i decided to make it so dimidium was super super clingy, but don't worry, helvetios is really into it hehee. they're a toxic co-dependent couple that's been dating for billions of years, but they somehow make it work.

wanted to try doing some prompts for bweird's oc-tober event! this is for day 1: fav oc. i don't really have a single favorite oc, so i drew some of my favorite planet personification ocs, sol earth and jupiter!
i included some quick info cards on them, but if you want you can find more info about them on my toyhouse (linked on my pinned post). below the read me is some more ramblings about these guys.
what makes them my favorites? well, sol is just a joy of a character to write and draw. his infectious positive attitude always gets to me. but he's also hilarious to mess with due to his loose morals and paranoia (gotta love being a huge star thats overly protective of his planets). he's also lying here. his favorite planet is mercury, which is very obvious to everyone, but he tries his best to make it seem like he loves all his planets equally.
earth is the main character of this group of ocs, so of course they're gonna be one of my favorites. i love their design, and their hypocritical attitude is always fun to write.
and finally, jupiter might come close to being my all-time favorite out of these guys. he's such a nervous wreck and full of anger issues, which is always fun to mess with. the planet jupiter is also just my favorite planet overall, so i might be a bit bias when it comes to him haha.
#hdnogvsvyisivgosv#u r so cool#you cannot fathom how cool u r 2 me#also i have a mutal server on discord with you but i didnt say anything out of respect#-4 ur boundrys

Hey Space, really enjoy hearing about Earth and all the other planets, also noticed you have other objects like stars and black holes. Was wondering if you could tell me a little about them, they all have really cool designs!
i had this in my drafts for months im so sorry for the late reply!!!
i already talked a lil about stars in a previous ask, but i'll try to go a bit more in depth
stars make up the main population the universe. there's a ton of them. i like to think of planets being the most "human" of these personifications, so stars can be a lil weird sometimes.
[more under the readmore]
stars, in contrast to planets, follow very strict lifecycles that dictate their path through life. most, if not all, stars start out in the main sequence, and then turn into a giant star, before dying and turning into one of 3 types of "undead" stars.
stars are then further divide by their brightness/color into different classes. the lower classes (M, K, etc) live longer but are dimmer and smaller, while the higher classes (O, B, etc) live shorter lives but are much brighter and bigger.
class M stars are the most common and make up most of the stellar population. you can think of them like common people, just normal stars living their lives. the higher classes are more rare and tend to be more famous. despite often being more younger and less long lived than lower classes, higher class stars often have more say in stellar politics or whatever due to being brighter and louder.
but yeah, stars dont live forever, and will eventually run out of their hydrogen fuel. this will send them into a hunger-fueled craze, where they grow in size and lose themselves a little. some of them are better than dealing with this than others (arcturus grills a lot to keep his hunger and rage at bay lol). however, most, if not all, will end up killing and devouring their closest planets.
and at some point, every star will die (peacefully or in an explosion) and be reborn as some sort of undead star. they'll live forever, bound to see the end of the universe unless they collide with another object or get eaten by a black hole.
white dwarfs are like skeletons, husks of their former selves and missing most of their memories. however, with the support of other stars (and any remaining planets they have) they can often get back to the life they once had.
neutron stars are like vampires, hyperactive and speedy. they're essentially weaker black holes, but still very strange in their own right. most transportation systems across the universe are manned by neutron stars due to their ability to zip across space.
and finally, black holes are like zombies, eating anything that gets too close to them. this doesn't mean that theyre mindless however! supermassive black holes are very important figures, with most galaxies having a black hole partner who's always seen with them. sagittarius a* is no exception, being married to the milky way. black holes have a close relationship with the Void that gives them special powers, like teleportation, matter manipulation, and more.
and yeah thats a quick rundown of some worldbuilding stuff concerning the different types of stars! thank you for asking about them!

i've been doing an astronomy internship this summer, and we recently talked about the space telescopes! wanted to personify some of them hehe.
James Webb (they/them): Their shiny poncho thing is inspired by the solar shield. They have a rivalry with Hubble, believing him to be obsolete. However, they secretly are worried they won't be able to live up to his legacy.
Hubble (he/him): His glasses represent the COSTAR instrument that was installed on Hubble to correct it's blurry images. He finds James Webb's attempt at a rivalry amusing, and just wants to become friends with the younger fella and help them out.
Nancy Grace Roman (she/her): A telescope not yet launched, she's an old NRO telescope, and is having trouble adjusting from a life of espionage to one of science.
