Yeah I met really nice shippers too, but you'd be surprised by the number of people who have other goals behind most of their intentions (I met someone at a convention who said he liked Mel and turned out to be a racist pos a few weeks later) so I have no doubt that this doesn't represent all jayvik shippers of course but people's online completions can be radically different in real life because it's a whole other world!

Let’s just say that where I am, finding a job is complicated. I’m afraid of being unemployed for a long time if I leave the position I miraculously got. I only had the courage to drop hints, I’m not someone who’s very confident in public, and even less so in situations like this. It’s really destabilizing because he’s very extroverted and comfortable in social settings, while I can be much colder. I hope that one day I’ll be able to tell him things as they really are. The hardest part is that he’s the kind of person who ‘isn’t mean, is energetic, and makes everyone want to like him,’ so I know he would probably turn it into a big drama. Our conversations by texts are small talk, but I can try to ask other colleagues, thank you very much for your advice ☺️❤️

Honestly, you can't go wrong with the basics

Charismatic (Character or actor)

A relatable personal motive

A coherent ideology

Mind you, it also depends on the genre. Slashers don't need much of a motive or ideology to be fun (although a good enough motive elevates it) and plenty of really good Monster movies and horror don't have/need need a "villain" at all per se.

It’s weird to me bc every single jayvik shipper I’ve ever met is a giant Mel stan and/or ships them in a threesome or ships themselves with her bc she is the hottest character on the show. Giant fandoms always are full of shitty people and the big ships attract it the most as is seen with CaitVi kinktober too.

There’s this guy at work, he seems to be into me, but I already tried to make him understand that I’m not interested. The thing is, all summer, he tried to compliment me on my outfits, but it quickly became comments about my shape, my body. I know I won’t change the way I dress for others, and never will, so I just tried to avoid him, but he keeps being weird, not a single week passed without at least one backhanded compliment. ‘You’re pretty though like the prettiest girl in our team, objectively’, ‘you look good, I love the flowers on your outfit’, ‘we can tell you go to the gym by the way because whatever you’re doing it’s working if you needed validation’. Some of my colleagues are side-eying him, one of the guys stepped up once, we’re on the same shift, but his schedule is not really the same this summer, so I don’t have a lot of backup. He's one of the boss's favorites so I'm a little afraid to report him. I NEED this job though, I can’t leave, I wished HE did. I don’t know what to do.

Have you flat out said, "We're colleagues and I'm not interested," or (my favorite) "You're making me feel uncomfortable, please stop making comments about my body"? If so what was the reaction?

If so here are your options:

Look for a new job!!

If you have DMs either in slack or emails of your colleagues acknowledging his behavior and how uncomfortable screenshot them, save them (keep your own copies). Take the screenshots from #2 and take them to HR. Make it clear that it's not just your perception, everyone is aware and uncomfortable. If you have to reach out to people to talk about this and get proof, DO NOT USE A COMPANY EMAIL because if they fire you or your boss does anything retaliatory and you want/need to file a suit, they can delete your company email and there goes all your witness evidence. If you go with this, I am still suggesting you look for a new job.

Become the deadpan "buzzkill" Every single time he makes a comment say, "That's inappropriate for a workplace setting" or "It makes me uncomfortable when you continue to talk about my body like this,". Make them your mantra. Say it every fucking time until he gets the message.
