ARTSY | WAXINGHYPNOTIC
Beat by KYLO
Lyrics by ESTÉE ASTRA
youtube
Send that projection back to sender
Unqualified pretender
Committed to surrender
And relishing in splendor
New Renaissance vibration
Re son ate liberation
Consensus deviation
Penetration
Spiritual masturbation
Dead like a corporation
10th house of reputation
Soul reconciliation
Occult initiation
Social configuration
Emo manipulation
“Get it, get it”
Deflecting deceiving corrupting program anagram for moronic
Busy bodies be asking how do you suggest we keep it hegemonic?
Constructed confusion illusion amnesia platonic plutonic
Turn
leave it
stop it
format it
you keep it awake
and I’ll keep it
I’ll keep it hypnotic
Google allopathic apartheid
Social engineering in hindsight
So sure
So convinced you’re the right side
Teleprompter whores on primetime
Pyramids with sights on all sides
I watch what I eat
I don’t eat what I say
“Maria, maria”
Distracted synastry overlay
Saturnian truancy
Bacchanalian lunacy
Blessed by the spirit and Intermittent ingenuity
Activating creativity
Ecliptic
A mystic
Apoplectic when in captivity
I got beef with academia
Allergic to comedia
Fake love for Dionysia
Corralling perception like catatonic Schizophrenia
The artist to asset line, controlling what’s in the media
Conditioned commissioned to practice inner world bulimia
She’ll see her name in lights, she will go far, call her Taina
Sovereignty mercy
Your inner child is thirsty
Let go of what you’ve outgrown and begin a self love journey
Abandoning monotony
That tenacity nasty
The only thing left to do embody infinity
Connecting with that subtle body ody ody ody
Don’t need permission
Sheer contrition
Join the pineal party
She illumines ego illusions yeah that means she’s artsy
Translating god in gentle form because that shit is gnarly

LALALAND | WAXINGHYPNOTIC
Beat by KYLO
Lyrics by ESTÉE ASTRA
youtube
Echoes in my mind
Subconscious bespoke design
Etching loopholes once divined
Don’t get confused let me opine
Inner archetypes aligned
Make this ego wanna shine
Sacred science before swine
Bleeding hunger of the pine
And I’m crazy for asking the right kind if people, adrenal
The wrong kind of questions
Audaciously curious
Seventh Aquarius
Amputating your assumptions
Burning energy source
That just can’t be ignored
Leo rising commands your attention
Water-bearer age
All the world’s a stage
When you live in la-la land
La la la la land
La la la la land
La la la la land
La la la la land
x2
Distracted
Doped up orphans
Pineal distortions
Tough that your misfortune
Is something you attracted
Shame based voices and curated choices
Of thought forms and forces
Gatekeeping the
House of the other
Project and you suffer
Lay down your ego and forgive your mother
Bitch take a seato
Your soul’s incognito
High voltage exposure
And boom, clap, magneto
Self contained electricity
Ancient, futuristic technology
Elegance
In a trance
Eccentricity
Fertile ground
Spirit bound
Femininity
Sit criss cross and surrender to the ambiguity
Visual acuity
The answer is inside of me
We laugh to keep from crying
Ignoring what’s underlying
“The truth comes, we can’t hear it”
I say to myself, they must be going crazy in
La la la la land
La la la la land
La la la la land
La la la la land

TWWINFLAMME | WAXINGHYPNOTIC
Beat by ASTRID BEATS
Lyrics by ESTÉE ASTRA
youtube
Bitch, is that a new neurochemical retrie·val?
Rahu-Ketu
Like emoti·onal libido
Remeber you’re dealing with highly sensitive people
So x-ray perceptive
Wanna make it illegal
I feel so hard motherfuckers wanna redesign me
Innerstand
Had a lot of latter manly
Humanly
Let a lady down kindly
Denied me
Charisma misguides me
Chemistry justifies me
Co·de·pen·den·cy beef with me
I sound just like Per·se·pho·ne
I had to loose you to love me
1, 2, 3, 4
I declare
Subconscious warfare
In this atmosphere
I met a British sceptic
With a big dick
Saw the writing on the wall
Didn’t listen
Opened up myself to the wound dia·lec·tic
Sera·to·nin
You can call it eclectic
Conditioned consensus relating
Covert online encounters that feel like you’re dating
Young lady
Overcomplicating
It’s not like you two ever ended up mating
Plutonic obsessions be suffocating
Uranian aspects alientating
Ignoring the lack of recripricotating
Illuminating
Is any of this resonating?
Bitch, drop him
And pick up your soul
Just kidding about the drop him
This ain’t a diss hymn
Looking in the mirror
Synonym
Knowing thyself
Expanded definition
Entangled by distance
A fractal existence
It made sense very rarely
When I came back to my body
I barely
Believed burly bros acted so debonairly
Just for fun
Fliritng unfairly
Libra rising
That’s on me
It’s not surprising
This neptunian disguising
Habitual adon·i·sing
Transactional chit chat
Emotional whiplash
Nodal axis clash
Potentiality flash
Transformational rehash
Energetically mismatched
Avoidantly attached
Judgement where my teeth gnashed
Godly,
The outcome
Pro·ba·bly
Ma·tu·ri·ty necessary to look back at it fondly
Oddly
Ec·cen·tric ca·ma·ra·de·rie
Might fuck around and ride his uh like a Harley
Then pull off in his Ferari
Just kidding he drives a Tesla
Just kidding he doesn’t have a car
He rides the tube
Please mind the gap.

Lyrics by DARIO & ESTÉE ASTRA
(Dario) No disciple I don’t follow Pave my own path Find myself, not Waldo Oye, hermano Desperado En tu mano Tiene’ el mapa del dorado Where the pyramids? Tainted syllabus Where the spirit is? Feel my lyrics, kid Where the pyramids? Tainted syllabus Where the spirit is? Feel my lyrics, kid Power is not limited Doctrines got you riveted Don’t judge by appearances The verdict says you’re gods Don’t you feel the power Racing through your veins now Don’t you live in vain, huh Toast to all your pain Register the change Quarters for the train My mind is full of planes I can’t only stay insane They told me what I can’t Then I showed them who I am They thought it was my end But I’ve only just began I went and paid my dues Right on time, just like the rent These haters hit the snooze When I’m all they’ve ever dreamt Get up out your bed Go to school, you gon’ learn Left my text on read ‘cause probably can’t discern The highest in the room Man, I think I should descend Like Prometheus, I promise you The fire is within I’m bleeding through my pen Naked truth, but not ashamed A Phoenix in the rain Wildin’ out, never been tamed They can’t contain my fire The firemen have failed I went through livin’ hells And by heaven, don’t repent They told me “let it vent” This storm feels like torment Foundations to my home Stay grounded, like cement Stop with all the chant Now, excuse me, here’s a rant Teach children ‘bout the land The land before we landed We came from other planets That’s truth, believe it’s cannon Descendants of Atlantis See now, young Nostradamus Stranded out in Patmos You write yourself a Bible Higher than the atmos I fear, you false like idols Like serpents in the desert Don’t cross me, see me from miles Numbers, chapter twenty one, four Read up, gentiles Are we really pious? If we seek to glorify us? Your Midas touch is cursed You’re twisted, that’s arthritis Are we really pious? If we seek to glorify us? That’s complex, like messiahs Don’t save me from the fire
(Estée Astra) I came, I saw, I witnessed You can’t call me a pedestrian Made up of never ending loving hope and estrogen And peace The kind that never leaves The divots in your grey matter cut by your beliefs Motifs Perceiving dreams and streams Gas, liquid, solid and everything in the between Don’t disavow invitations to your crown To your inner Dionysus Fire always rises Surprises Alchemize and turn down for the essence like galactomyces The price is The difference betwixt Your ego eclipsed Sacrificed on the a milli, a milli of revivification Lit up DNA with new information That’s the situation That’s what’s going on Don’t save me from the fire This is how I feel Don’t save me from the fire I’m a feel what I’m a feel, I’m a feel what I’m a feel Don’t save me from the fire I'm one with my desire and I'm ok, I’m ok

One, a web series produced by the Yale Schwarzman Center, highlights interdisciplinary approaches to the arts in relation to the Center’s values of collaboration, wellness and belonging.
Produced by:
Maurice L. Harris, PhD (Dir. of Marketing)
Jennifer H. Newman, MFA (Associate Artistic Dir.)
Estefani Castro, MFA (Associate Dir. for Stakeholder Engagement)
Season One, 2020-2021.
The inaugural season illuminates the creative and academic merits of student works impacted by social distance and explores perspectives on community-building among dispersed groups. The series title, One, is a nod to the Schwarzman Center’s aspiration to advance a sense of “One Yale” and create an interconnected community that builds new traditions of student engagement around the campus and into the world.
Episode #2
MFA student Camilla Tassi YSD ‘21 talks with Estefani Castro YSD ‘21 about her work in projection design—the integration of digital projection into live events. Tassi discusses how she uses technology to spark emotional connections in opera, classical music and experimental arts, and she reflects on physical distance as an opportunity for dialogue between artists and audiences.

Episode #4
Estefani Castro YSD ’21 interviews Frances Pollock YSM ’19MM ’23DM, Emily Roller YC ’07, and Danilo Gambini YSD ’20 about their novel approach to opera. The team discusses how they used social media as a performative and ideological stage for an original take on the biblical story of Sodom and Gomorrah. A workshop of their production, Salt, premiered May 8 as part of the Yale Opera Studies Today (YOST 2020) program.
Episode #9
Estefani Castro YSD ’21 interviews Zachry Bailey, Brandon Burton, Alex Vermillion, and Jaime Totti on their experience leading the Yale Cabaret and its foray into radio, recalling the 1921 Tulsa race massacre as a response to both the current pandemic and systemic racial injustice. Bailey, Burton and Vermillion are 2020 Yale School of Drama graduates. Totti is a 2020 graduate of both Yale School of Drama and Yale School of Management.
Episode #18
Estefani Castro YSD'21 interviews Carrie Mannino YC'20 about her senior thesis project in creative writing. Mannino’s documentary play, It Couldn’t Happen Here, delves into the aftermath of the October 2018 shooting at Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The episode contains a dramatic reading of an excerpt from It Couldn’t Happen Here and explores insights from Mannino’s writing process.
Episode #19
Estefani Castro YSD’21 interviews Erin Sullivan YSD’20 and Liam Bellman-Sharpe YSD’20 about the intersectionality of their visual and audio works. Inspired by Eadweard Muybridge’s early work in motion picture, Sullivan juxtaposes real life bodies in motion with video frames that form a looped cycle. Similarly, Bellman-Sharpe uses human motion as a driver for musical improvisation using MIDI technology. Together, the creators explain how they might integrate their ideas on stage. This episode contains video footage of their multi-media creations.

Schwarzman Center an opportunity for “more porous boundaries,” admin says
-- Yale Daily News
“It’s really important for us to think about how to build the systems and the structures that are nimble and responsive not just to the needs and desires of students but also to the dreams that we can build out,” said Estefani Castro DRA ’21, assistant director of stakeholder engagement. “The Schwarzman Center will bring in large-scale projects, but it’s important to have a balance of that student-generated work.”

Yale School of Drama Theater Management Case Study
prepared by Estefani Castro, MFA
In the days before Berkeley Repertory Theatre’s (BRT) spring 2019 board meeting, instead of counting sheep at night before going to sleep, Susan Medak—Managing Director—counted the number of buildings the theater owned and made rough estimates as to how much they had increased in value since being purchased. She found this exercise helpful as she contemplated the various ways BRT could approach improving the temporary housing it provided to visiting guest artists.
