Denzel Washington wants to join the cast of Fox’s hit TV series, ‘Empire’.

In an interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer, Daniels said, “Denzel hasn’t done television in 30 years. But he saw the pilot and said, ‘I’ve got to be a part of this.’”

Empire premiered January 7 on Fox and tells the story of a hip-hop record exec and his troubled family. The series which stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard, is a certified hit with viewers and was renewed by Fox for a second season just after two episodes.

Recently, Daniels took a selfie with Washington with the caption: “Trying to talk this one into doing a guest star on #empire #nextweekdinneronme.”
