Pretty much. Isabelle hypersexualizes herself, it’s all a part of a bigger picture, an indication of deeper issues, that she herself doesn’t acknowledge out loud until City of Lost Souls. For her, this outfit, this attitude is an armor that helps her protect her heart. And by extension also Alec. If she draws attention to herself, Alec can stay hidden.

Okay but I’m all for the whole TMI gang to constantly wear each other’s clothes. Like Clary and Izzy basically start sHARing a wardrobe, mixing up their clothes, and oh did someone just see Jace Herondale with one of Simon Lewis’s nerd shirts? Did I just see Alec Lightwood’s way too big sweater on Clary Fray? Isabelle with Jace’s black leather jacket?? Did Clary just buy something a size bigger than she needed it so it would fit Izzy too?? Let’s be honest. They are LOSERS they definitely also walk around in partner looks oH MY GOD
