why I don’t like CaLeo.

first of all. Their relationship in a whole I dislike.

Calypso is a multi thousand year old goddess older than Apollo himself.

and I’ve seen people say before if I have a problem with the age gap then I should also dislike SolAngelo.

but Nico is mentally his age, physically his age. He was born in 1930s but he’s not actually that old other then in technical terms.

calypso is only in a teenagers body. She lived all that time. She’s SA’d a middle aged man (Odysseus) she’s really damn old. She’s a goddess. That’s pedophilia, at least in mental age terms.

then, Leo shouldn’t have gotten in a relationship. He still has to work on himself. He shouldn’t need a relationship to feel valid.

and neither should calypso. She also needs to learn how to work on herself. And not fall in love with every man she’s met on her island.

that’s why I dont like Caleo.

Something I find so hauntingly interesting about the dead pixel in the window scene in Mouthwashing is how Anya consistently brings up this idea that one bad thing, one wrong action, does not spoil the whole.

Yet what does she say about the dead pixel?

So you have this beautiful image of the night sky, projected onto the walls of the ship each night to remind its passengers of the beauty of the world. And all Anya can think about is the dead pixel. Personally, I think it says a lot about human nature. How we can still outwardly project that we are good people, that we don't think we're beyond redemption, but our guilt of our actions still lays heavy on us. Or maybe it says something about the way Anya sees those who've hurt her (namely Jimmy and Curly, to an extent). She does not see them as utterly irredeemable people but the memory of their actions towards her that hurt her torture her. And eventually she can't handle this anymore. Curly also mentions how he can't see the dead pixel, perhaps hinting to some of his ignorance (especially towards Jimmy's behaviour). It might sound a little overanalysed but knowing this game, I'm sure there's some intent behind this.

when people say that jason grace dying of a stab wound is extremely stupid and anti climatic, and that it was made for jason to look 'weak', i couldn't disagree more tbh, bc it's so so symbolic. in blood of olympus, it was said that jason's soul was broken the moment he was stabbed with imperial gold, and it left more than just a physical scar on him, it damaged his soul. because only a few minutes prior, he had a bitter, soul crushing confrontation with his mother's spirit. jason told piper that she was the only reason he had the will to live at that particular moment, otherwise he would've crumbled down and let himself give in to death.

and then comes his life a few months later, jason lost his anchors, which was piper and leo, jason enrolled in edgarton which was located in the same area where his mother died in a car crash. he was already showing signs of spiralling, taking as many subjects/extra curricular activities as he could, getting as engrossed as he could in his minor gods project, to take his mind off of the prophecy.

all of this was more than enough to reopen jason's soul scarring, jason taking a hit with a spear, in the EXACT same spot as the previous stab, was the culmination of his soul withering for good. piper was there both the times he got impaled, this time though, when he crumbled to the floor, jason had completely given in to death, not bothering to put up a fight with his mind.

'the truth was enough to break jason grace'

his mind was damaged, broken and weary, and that was the real reason he died, not because he couldn't take on a physical stab wound.
