I think we need to stop aiming for native level accents when it comes to language learning
#no literally#theres nothing wrong with accents idg why theres such a stigma against them#my friend refuses to speak japanese bc she hates her american accent when she speaks it#like who cares!! as long as people can understand what ur saying and even then most ppl will be able to figure it out with context clues!!!#if you are even giving the effort to learn a second language that is enough#if im talking to someone and i cant understand them bc of their accent i just ask them to talk a bit slower! its that easy!

Terfs are like why do so many other women think I’M the bad guy for harassing and bullying people to a cartoonishly cruel extent for being different from me in a way that I don’t like :(

Literally begging people to stop equating IGM, forced/coerced HRT, and similar acts of violence against intersex bodies with trans people getting gender affirming care
I shouldn't have to tell you that forcing an intersex person to be compliant with the sex binary, their own gender identity be damned, is not a good thing and is not comparable to trans people getting consensual HRT.

idk, I feel like almost every single discussion, theory, words of support, or even mention of transness is just for monogender people. people claim to support those who don't meet rigid binary standards but the only trans people that seem to actually matter are the binary trans man and the binary trans woman. with the genderless nonbinary person mentioned sometimes when it's relevant. the binary is what people base their worldview on, their discussions of systemic oppression. there's no room for us multigender people anywhere because we either contradict their ideas or we're just not included because it's inconvenient to fit us anywhere in their theory. men and women are not opposites. there is not just man, woman, and neither (people who you categorize as basically man or woman depending on their association with gendered oppression). some of us are both and you need to consider us when discussing these sorts of things

This is where we are. Anti-trans pogroms have begun and the community is living in fear. Things are so bad that some of us are unable to live anymore.
Where is the left? Where are our allies?

This isn't directed at any specific comment, but it is a pattern I've noticed
Sometimes, when I post the most white bread ass outfits, the kinda of things I wear in my daily life, I'll get a comment that's like "woah omg your gender is so awesome.... Woagh gender..... What gender is this bc it's awesome..." And like. Girliepop. I am literally just a woman.

Gender is entirely made-up and I don't understand why some people are so fixated on it being "true" in the sense of like...are trans women women? Of course they are, insofar as "a woman" can be said to exist in the first place. But people have gotten obsessed with proving objectively that a trans woman is a woman, when the actual core of trans liberation is that anyone forcing their preferred gender on you is fascist. It's missing the forest for the trees. When all you do is play the "I am [x] really truly deep down just like everyone else" game you're meeting the transphobes on their level and accepting their premise that "man" and "woman" are distinct, tangible things.
To be clear, it's not that you CAN'T feel gender is a kinna spiritual force within you, or something to that effect. I think we all do on at least some level. But my point is that trying to rip that spiritual force out of our bodies to dissect it and prove all the haters wrong because look it was here all along is just a waste of time and effort.
The truth of the matter is that the goal is not to get people to see trans women as women, it's to get them to stop feeling like clothes and pronouns and names and locker rooms should be dictated by what some asshole wrote down on your birth certificate.

Caper in the Castro is a legendary video game, not because legions of die-hard fans continue to play it, but because it was thought to be lost forever. Now, what is largely considered to be the first LGBTQ-focused video game (it was released in 1989) is on the Internet Archive for anybody to play.
The game is a noir point-and-click that puts the player in the (gum)shoes of a private detective named Tracker McDyke who is, in case you couldn’t guess by the name, a lesbian. McDyke must unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of Tessy LaFemme, a transgender woman, in San Francisco’s Castro district, an historically gay neighbourhood.
OOOOOHhh!
The game was released as charityware – freely, with a strong request to give a donation an AIDS Charity of their choice. I’d like to push towards still following that and donating, if you’re able.
(And you might also want to donate to the Internet Archive, who is hosting it now, while you’re at it – they’re in the middle of a donation drive, and could use your support.)
