me when i forgot about my own poll lmao

i just wanted to talk about the results a little so don’t mind me yapping below

so im aware that im obviously in a more soriku-leaning community so i get the results could be skewed. however, it seems like it broke out of my curated space at least a bit bc the results are varied and i saw a lot of different opinions in the tags, which makes me happy! thanks to everyone who participated and thank you especially to those who wrote in the tags and the notes!! it was very fun to see yall’s opinions!

that being said, the overall result for the “yes” answers is 47.8% and the overall result for the “no” answers is 49.5%, which is pretty surprising to me how evenly it’s split! i wasn’t sure what way i was expecting it to lean but the results being almost 50/50 instead is very interesting to me!

to break it down in another way, 47.8% of people who participated think soriku will be endgame in some way, while 22.1% think sokai will be endgame and 27.4% think there will be no romantic relationships.

also 15.9% of people who participated think that riku will be confirmed to have feelings for sora whether or not sokai ends up being endgame.

the option with the highest standalone result is that soriku is endgame but it will be implied and that’s the option i’m leaning toward as well, although i probably won’t stop hoping for explicit confirmation even if it ends up being unrealistic lol

people pointing to one heart as proof s/k is canon is sooooo funny when it seems to be a light only attack

bc like

its been stated consistently throughout the series that you cant just have light. light and dark need to be in balance.

like they literally say 'light!' as the attack starts.

that doesnt seem very balanced to me.

but you know what team attack is?

also, i feel like it being called one heart points even further to it being another s/k red herring.

like, compare that to hearts in tune

love is not being one with someone, or someone else 'completing' you. love is just being with someone. by their side.

and theres also the fact that the attack literally cannot function without the two of them together. they need both wings to fly. whereas the two halves of the combined keyblade can be used on their own

or at least i think they can, anyway. in nightmares end/mirage split we see them used individually to cut the chains before they merge:

plus all the emphasis on the nobodies/replicas/etc being their own people, and growing their own hearts. even tho they were 'content' with being merged with their og selves.

idk, maybe im reading too much into the name. maybe its not that deep. but it still seems kinda weird, with all the emphasis post-kh2 on everyone having their own identities

I love playing kh2 and tweaking every time riku comes on screen but my absolute most insane moments are on the mountain in the second visit to land of dragons bc one in the boss fight he’s so clearly Riku it’s insane from the stance to the blade to the taunt he does all being the smae as kh1 and com but also the fact that in the fight he rarely attacks Sora and when he does he does barely any damage and the does certain mannerisms in all the cutscenes surrounding this fight that are so him and then he like snaps out of it and then runs away and like bwaaaaah I love that gay so much 🥰🥰🥰🥰 riku my beloved

and to this day, Sora has still not really processed this moment. Like it’s had a few mentions - primarily in 358/2 Days as the memory that triggers the first time Roxas ever cries and KH3 when Sora describes knowing hurt - but not in depth. This is not just Donald and Goofy leaving; this is also Riku openly declaring that Sora will never catch up to him/is useless and unremarkable, unworthy in every regard. “Just the delivery boy”. This is Riku throwing his friendship back in Sora’s face. This boy has so much trauma to unpack
