The idea of staying in one place my whole life has always scared me. There are so many incredible and unique experiences to be had. Traveling gives you the opportunity to learn and enjoy new cultures.
The only problem is deciding where to go, how to get there, where to stay and what to do. This blog should help you answer all of those questions.
Whether you are going on a quick trip or plan on staying for a long time there is a lot of research that you can do to help make the most of your trip.
Traveling reduces your stress and allows you to unwind. You can create memories that last a lifetime.
You could either travel in a group, with friends or family, or go solo. It doesn’t matter who you are with, as long as you are taking in all that is around you.

The first decision that you need to make when you’re planning a vacation is where you want to go. There are so many options and you want to ensure that you pick a place that’s right for you.
A lot of locations have seasonal peaks which can influence your decision. Obviously, skiing is not an option in summertime unless you are willing to travel far.
Tripzard is a great website that helps you narrow down a location. It asks you specific questions and then gives you a list of vacation spots that fit your answers.
If you are located in Orlando, like me, and want to travel somewhere relatively close, Miami is an option. It is only a three hour drive and you will still experience a new culture.
If you are looking to go somewhere far, extremely different and you have a passport, Canada is right across the border. Around this time of year, you can still experience snow and all that it has to offer.
Your own state could hold hidden adventures and destinations you didn’t know about before. Take the time to do some research and begin planning your next trip.

First, you need to evaluate what form of transportation you are going to take. If your destination is close, then the obvious option is driving. If you don’t have a car, check websites such as Mapsally to find a local bus station.
Using websites like Expedia if you plan on flying to your destination can help you find the cheapest flight. It allows you to put in your destination and then it provides you with a list of inexpensive options.
If you chose to fly, make sure you check the restrictions on suitcases so you don’t end up with extra costs. If you can, try to pack as light as possible. Carry-on suitcases are convenient and usually cheaper then checking a bag.
If you are not too keen on flying, cruise ships are another great option for traveling over seas. They vary in length and offer a variety of entertainment fit for the whole family.
Don’t let the transportation aspect of traveling intimidate you. There are options for all types of travel, as well as people.

There are so many options when it comes to lodging when you’re on vacation. The best way to decide where to stay is to take into account how many people are in your traveling party, as well as how long you plan on staying.
Airbnb’s are convenient because they are all unique and most of them are very affordable. They have a host that rents out either the entire house or a room in a house.
If you chose to stay in a hotel, then websites such as Hotels.com come into play. You put in your location and it provides you with a list of places to stay that are best suited for you.
It is also helpful to see if you have and friends or relatives in that destination area because that is a easier, cheaper option. Regardless the length of your stay, it will help you reduce your costs.

One should always be up to trying new foods and beverages. Every travel destination has their own delicacy and specialty.
Check out their local tourist destinations. This could be monuments, churches, or national forests.
Tripadvisor is the perfect source to help you find the most popular activities in your destination. It provides you with ratings and reviews from previous travelers.
Interact with the locals. They can teach you a little bit about their culture and language. They can also give you the inside scoop on where to go.
For example, in Grand Cayman, one of the most popular things to do is go to Stingray City to feed the wild stingrays. In Canada, it is very popular to go snowmobiling during the winter months. You may even come across wild horses.

Spring: a reminder of how colorful change can be
It is guaranteed that every spring flowers will bloom. The first day of spring this year was Tuesday, March 20th. Spring is the season of new beginnings as the earth comes back to life. The temperatures rise which gives flowers the opportunity to flourish.
This particular flower field can be found at Marion County rest area at 1201 S.W. Nb I-75 Ocala, Fla. This is just about 40 minutes from the University of Florida campus at mile-marker 346. When traveling North on I-75 you have the chance to pull over, get a snack, and smell the wildflowers. It is a safe and well-kept rest area with a sufficient amount of parking.
Summer starts June 21st so don’t waste any time. Take a drive in any direction and you are bound to see some wildflowers.

Spring has finally sprung here in Florida which means hotter weather, bluer skies and lots of flowers. This wildflower field can be found at Marion County Rest Area at 1201 S.W. Nb I-75 Ocala, Fla. This field is an example of how you can find vast beauty in the oddest places when springtime arrives in Florida. Wildflowers are flowers that grow freely without human intervention. The yellow flowers are called Plains Coreopses and can grow up to two feet. They are bright yellow with mahogany red centers. The pink flowers are called Rose Mallows and they can grow up to four feet. They both grow quickly and bloom in large quantities.

Savannah Steward, second-year advertising major at the University of Florida, is carefully sitting among the colorful wildflowers. She pulled over at the rest stop on her way back to school from Orlando, Fla. when she saw the flowers because it was the perfect way to start the beginning of spring. She could not believe that something so beautiful could exist in-between two highways. “I love basking in the spring sun and picking flowers,” Savannah said.

Savannah Steward is picking some of the Plains Coreopses wildflowers from the field to take home. When springtime rolls around in Florida there is usually an endless amount of flowers to choose from. These bright, yellow ones are perfect for brightening up her apartment in Gainesville. “The field looks like it has an endless amount of flowers,” Savannah said.

Marina Lentine, third-year event management major at the University of Florida, is holding some of the wildflowers. This allows you to clearly see the detail of each one. They are a bright shade of yellow with a deep mahogany red center. They are annual flowers which means they live just one year. They can regrow the following spring if their seeds fall on the bare ground. It is common that Plains Coreopsis and Rose Mallow flowers bloom in the same location. “I don’t want to pick the pink ones because there aren’t that many of them,” Marina said.

Plains Coreopsis and Rose Mallow flowers often grow in disturbed areas such as roadsides. Millions of these wildflowers grow between two major highways and they do so every year despite their surroundings. “You belong somewhere you feel free... you belong among the wild flowers,” Tom Petty once said.
