And after the storm, I run and run as the rains come And I look up, I look up, on my knees and out of luck, I look up.
And I took you by the hand And we stood tall, And remembered our own land, What we lived for.
And there will come a time, you’ll see, with no more tears. And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears. Get over your hill and see what you find there, With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

Sansa nodded in reply. Pike was right, the little thing may have been wary of them, but it wasn't going to hurt them if they didn't hurt it or startle the fluffy animal too much. She ran her hand over the rabbits back, stroking its smooth white fur. It looked like the sort of thing you'd see in a dream. As white as milk and just as pure as untouched snow. She was easily captivated by the short strands that resembled a rare silk. What a curious thing these foreign creatures were to her.
Sansa nodded, her eyes moving to meet Pike's as she stood. This was all so new to her, almost overwhelming, really. She followed him uphill, watching her feet carefully so as to not trip or stumble. There was this feeling in the air... like when they reached the top there would be something beautiful. Something worth while that would make this climb, although not a hard one, worth it. Maybe there would be a meadow of rabbits, or a sea of dolphins jumping. Her mind was conjuring up all these beautiful sights she couldn't believe she'd been missing all her life. Sure, she'd been safe hidden away in District Thirteen her whole life. No one in existence outside of her home had ever known who she was, what she looked like, or her name until the President began letting in refugees. Sansa had made sure to talk to them, to learn all she could; She had a thirst for knowledge of the outside world and her cup never seemed to be full enough. She'd made friends, made acquaintances, but never enemies. That wasn't something she believed was necessary. She was the girl whose happiness came from being kind to those around her and soothing their fears. With Pike it was different... she couldn't say exactly how, but it didn't feel the same. Almost better, actually. Every time she was with him, her life seemed to be amplified. He brought something to Sansa that she wasn't sure a person could ever feel.
"Do you know where this leads?" She asked curiously, cradling the small creature in her arms to keep it safe. A sudden thought took its course through Sansa's mind and suddenly she didn't know what was more sad: the fact that she would have to leave all of this behind and return to Thirteen, that she couldn't take this rabbit back with her and take care of it, or that Pike would lose his freedom all over again. She didn't like knowing the tributes were forced to partake in Thirteen's agenda. It wasn't fair, but she also understood why the President needed them. She only wished there was no cause to provoke  the rebellion in the first place. Then everyone could live in peace with no fear of the Hunger Games nor the Capitol or any dictatorship. It was only a fantasy, she knew, and her teachers had often told her she was a silly girl for thinking such things, but they were only thoughts and without acting on them, Sansa didn't understand why they were bad.

Sansa couldn't refuse the smile and small, hardly audible giggle that escaped her lips. Her cerulean eyes scanned the foreign creature with such curiosity that she could almost feel was emitting from her. She'd never seen a rabbit before, only saw pictures in books and those were all drawn by hand. She didn't know they could be different colours, or that some had longer ears than others. She continued to listen to Pike's small story, imagining it all it in her head. She had no idea what District Nine actually looked like. She pictured golden fields of wheat swaying tall and delicate under the sun in a warm, summer breeze; the sky the most vibrant shade of baby blue with grass as rich as it was described by her teachers when she was young. Of course she thought it would be nothing compared to the greens in District Eleven, but it was still beautiful and far more than her home District had. She imagined the people there to be blonde as well, like Pike and Annabeth. She hadn't talked to the girl much, but she always admired her hair from the screens into the arena.
Sansa wasn't oblivious to the fact that she was more than likely wrong, not everyone would have blonde, silk hair no matter how many shades there were. It was just nice to imagine in the setting she'd made up. Her own long auburn locks fell over her shoulders and down her back with straight strands that slightly curled at the end; a minor detail in which Sansa usually forgot. They blamed me for it, saying I stole them... Twenty lashes to the back. Sansa quickly averted her gaze from the small being, shifting her eyes to Pike, to whom she looked upon with such sympathy and devastation that it was beyond trying to hide. Before she could say anything, Pike was asking her a question. "Hold him?" The songstress echoed to her warrior, who seemed to have lost the hard carapace that encapsulated him when they met.
Although she didn't want to admit it, Sansa was a little frightened by the rabbit. She wasn't afraid, however. Those were two different things entirely. She wasn't familiar with this being and although she was sure there was nothing that should cause her to feel this, it was there looming over her nonetheless. She contemplated her answer internally, giving him a look of uncertainty. "Will he bite?" She asked warily, reaching her hand out hesitantly to touch its ears. They were as soft as silk, perhaps even more smooth. A small smile graced her lips as she leaned in very slowly to get a closer look. "He's so soft." She stated obviously, though to her it was a wonder. She didn't understand how something that lived outside among the mud, rain, and wild could look so pure and white as milk with fur softer than anything she'd ever felt before.
