One thing that truuuuly bothers me about Veilguard is how important Sollavelan is for the plot. Like I get it - it does add a lot of depth to Solas’ character arc HOWEVER I’ve never liked him. At all.

My canon Inky would never look at this egg and say smash… Therefore - I hate the fact that we cannot gossip about Rook’s and Inky’s love lives when it’s anything other than Solavellan:(

It baffles me how much they didn’t care for other characters (or couldn’t care, I’M LOOKING AT YOU EA!!!)

Spoilers for Lucanis’ romance in connection with those storyboard panels from the art book:

I can’t believe they ended up not using the romantic gondola date! It would have been *so* easy:

Just tack it onto A Moment’s Peace. Instead of standing awkwardly next to Rook, Lucanis holds out his hand, saying there’s something he wants to show Rook and pulling them to their feet.

Next we see them getting into a Gondola, and Lucanis manoeuvres the small vessel into the bay, revealing a breathtaking view of Treviso.

Rook says something along the lines of “Oh Lucanis, this is beautiful!”, Lucanis looks at Rook and remarks “yes, beautiful”. Rook glances over at him, he leans in, they kiss.

The camera pans out, the couple becoming smaller in front of the lights of the city, fade to black and back to the lighthouse.

You wouldn’t even need to worry about armor clipping because they’re already in their casual clothes! (In contrast to that first coffee date with Illario, showing how far our man has come 🥹)

They kept telling us that Lucanis is a romantic, but neglected to actually show it.

I wave any rights of this scene in case anyone wants to use it 😉
