Please help if possible
So… this is getting really scary. My partner hasn’t been able to pay rent because food has obviously taken priority and now the landlord, who my partner had previously cut a deal with to exchange manual labour to make up for rent has now sent rent demands to my partner’s disabled mother, his mother is unable to work and has her own bills to pay.
My partner and I are both unemployed, he is on universal credit and I am unable to work during the current pandemic due to my health and vulnerability - despite this I am still aiming to look for work which will be safe.
We are unfortunately contractually stuck in this property till the end of July due to it being a student let, so we cannot just escape to his mother’s house.
Recently the landlord rang and expressed that his next step would be to contact debt collectors, a path we obviously cannot go down.
This is causing both us, and his mother, great stress and stress leads to his mother and I getting flare ups with our conditions. My partner has currently drawn up a payment plan for the rent but he currently doesn’t have enough to cover - I have paid as much as I could towards the first payment the landlord demanded but this means the money that would have went on food is no longer (I have student maintanence money and it has to last me till September if I am unable to get a job.)
As well as this, my partner’s car insurance is due and our cupboards are now running dry. Shit is bad.
Please, if you can give anything at all I would be forever grateful and pay it forward in the future. If you haven’t got the funds to help then a share would be really helpful! Thank you.

There’s a lodge banner down in the welfare. We bring it out for special occasions. It’s a hundred years old. I’ll show it to you one day. It’s a symbol like this - two hands. That’s what the labour movement means. Should mean. You support me and I support you. Whoever you are. Wherever you come from. Shoulder to shoulder. Hand to hand.
