Here's the thing. I fully believe withholding your vote is not a sign of power, it's a sign of feeling powerless. It's the action you take when you feel you have NO options - it's the toddler's tantrum when they think nobody is listening.
But people ARE listening. Your politicians need your vote, and if you vote for them, you then push the party to align WITH your agenda. THAT is power. "I voted for you, do X" is FAR more powerful a message than "I didn't vote for you, do X". Why should they? Where is the reciprocity?
Do NOT surrender to the idea that inaction is power. Inaction stems from hopelessness, FROM the feeling of powerlessness. Inaction never has been, and it never will be, actual power. It's only complicity.

There are a bunch of reasons to vote for Harris over Trump but when I鈥檓 at the polls, I鈥檓 going to be thinking about the trans kids who can鈥檛 vote yet. The trans kids who are scared to come out. The trans kids that are receiving hate. The trans kids that face abuse just for being their true selves.
If you are one of these kids, I want you to know that you deserve love. You deserve affirmation. You deserve safety. And while I can鈥檛 protect you from all the horrible stuff the world is throwing at you, I will vote to protect your rights and I will be there to fight alongside you if those rights are ever challenged.

to the person reading this, even though I don't literally know who you are, I am proud of you. I am certain you've done many things that are worth praise, all the times you've positively impacted people, all of the challenges you've overcome, even just surviving day to day while carving your place in the world is deserving of praise. it can be easy to slip into a spiral of negative emotions, but I know there are things in your life that you can be proud of. I think it's good to celebrate those things

Reading articles about MrBeast's dominance of YouTube is fucking bizarre because, from my perspective, the dude isn't even on YouTube. I've never watched one of his videos. YouTube has, to the best of my knowledge, never recommended one of his videos to me. Every thumbnail screenshot of his looks like something you could tell me was a photoshopped parody of YouTube culture, and I'd believe you. No one I follow on YouTube ever mentions him, even negatively or in passing. The first time I ever heard his name was in regards to the quality of his ghost kitchens. The only way I know he isn't a mass, shared hallucination is that I've witnessed the thoroughly mid-looking chocolate bars he sells at Walmart for some reason

I can not overstate how voting third party is a massive advantage to the Trump campaign. They really want you to feel so personally guilty about the Genocide that you don't vote for Harris and so that you vote third party.
So you voted third party and now YOU don't feel guilty, but Donald Trump wins the majority and the presidency anyways. You effectively made it easier for him to win all the votes in your state.
And for a battleground state like Florida, that's 30 votes directly in favor of Donald Trump. Not 5 to Stein, 10 to Harris, and 10 to Trump. All 30 go to whoever got the most votes overall.
And make no mistake, he is immediately going to launch nuclear weapons on Palestine. But at least you didn't vote for Harris!
If the logic still isn't clicking, third party /write in votes for Bernie Sanders is what cost Hillary Clinton the win in 2016, despite the fact that she still won the majority of votes in the USA. Don't vote third party this time. Idk about next time, but enough 3rd party votes will give Trump the presidency again this time.

Hello. I mean this really imploringly, and really genuinely. If you're a U.S. citizen still on the fence about what to do for the election, please vote Harris. There's this idea circulating that the person you vote for should be someone you like, love, idolize and that is so very not true. You're voting for the opponent you'll face for the next four years when you have issues to protest and matters to vocalize. You're voting for the person most likely to give an inch when you protest the things that matter. You're voting for the person most likely to not strip away your existing rights and scatter your focus across the things we already won, and which can be taken away. We lost Roe v Wade under the Trump-appointed judges. The current trans-panic is so disgustingly on fire, and it's absolutely the Republicans eager to rip away what little protection there is. Both candidates are also, disgustingly, pro-Israel. But Trump will never ever give a fuck to any protest on that matter.
You don't want to be complicit in genocide. I get it. But if you're a U.S. citizen, you're already benefiting from the U.S.'s foreign policy, and that's already complacency. Refusing to vote or voting third party isn't absolving you of that. It's just letting Trump walk in the door. And letting Trump in is complacency. And your ability to organize, and to make change, will go so less far against a Trump cabinet than a Harris one. The material harm under Trump is real.
Does voting for Harris make you feel guilty? I'm sorry, but you have to bear it. Your guilt isn't what's important. A white person's guilt isn't important. A citizen of a global terror's guilt isn't important. Actions that pacify your guilt aren't important. Focusing on absolving your guilt is in fact harmful, as opposed to actions that can actually materially reduce harm.
Please protest. Please donate to good causes. Please support Palestine. Please be vocal. Please fight for BIPOC and LGBTQA+ rights. Please view Harris as the opponent whose ears these things fall on. Your ability to organize safely, largely, loudly, and effectively will go so much further under a Harris presidency. Please.
