To build a Roombox 5: Stain, Painting and Completion!!

Today is an exciting day! I finally completed the roombox’s base! Though I had a busy week and couldn’t show some of the other photos I took, I’m happy to show you all at once!

Floor stain! The unpredictable nature of the wood let it get a bit weird in places, but I honestly love it! It looks like very old floors or like reclaimed barnwood! This was before polyurethane was applied.

A sense of scale of the seat/shelf for An U-noa Light and a Momoko, demonstrated by Lady Lyra and Poodle.

The room works with many different size 1:6 dolls, here is a Pipos Charlotte demonstrating the scale for her!(She’s Cranberry lavender from the most recent special order period, this sailor moon fan couldn’t resist!)

Stark view of everyone at once. Its difficult to show a sense of scale, but this is a big room! And now…. THE COMPLETED ROOM!!

Gotta make a cushion for the bay window seat! Final Thoughts: WOW. This was way, way,way harder than I ever imagined doing. Not only was it hard to pace myself with the large amount of work, but the amount of trial and error was maddening. Everything was severely more difficult than it seemed, I would have never though it would be so hard. Let me just say, firsthand, that those roomboxes with the 300+ pricetags? COMPLETELY fair pricing. Had I had know what I was getting myself into, I may have just saved and bought one and called it a day! ;P Without the help of my amazing carpenter father, the assistance and reassurance of my husband and the cheering from my best friend, this project would have been scrapped for sure. Now I enter the final phase, which is the longest. Decorating! I plan to gather a lot of lovely little things, I always love seeing what I can find around and use in my local stores. That, and building some furniture and shelves! I hope you will keep watching to see how the decorating ends up!
