what is it?

"project miiistq" is going to be a ship community discourse project- aimed to better understand both proship and anti communities.

I, personally ID myself as an anti. I dont think its good to ship inc*st, adult/minor ships or sexualize minors, etc.

but i thought the best way to come to a good understanding is to completely remove all bias and do some deep diving into the community. i will be hosting polls, surveys, asking questions etc on several websites such as here, instagram, ao3, twitter and more probably. I will aim them at both sides of the community and in the end compile all my research and come ro a personal conclusion. my focus will be in mostly the jjba fandom but also others.

so im asking both pro-shippers and antis to help me.

note: this is a side blog so please dont ask questions in replys, rather send an ask, message, rb etc.

this is a project that relies on honesty. lying and making shit up to make one side look better or worse will not help in any way shape or form. please do not lie in submissions. i will be taking things in as if they are true and using that research BUT i will also have to trust my gut to keep liars and trolls out, so if i think something is off about a submission i have the right to discard it.

pro shippers are so absurd. "fiction isnt unreality, do you think that just because someone writes about serial killers they want to murder people in real life?"

1. people don't usually write murder mysteries from the point of view that the murderer is good, or clearly romanticize the murder. and when they do, we rightfully call out the gross authors for normalizing such actions and characters. when we hear people online genuinely defend such characters, they are RIGHTFULLY criticized for it. what's confusing.

2. i don't think you're actually a pedophile just because you write minor/adult fics or whatever the fuck, but, shockingly, getting off to the idea of children being sexualized, real or fictional, doesn't make me inclined to want to interact with you, you fucking creep.

about ur post about yana shipping it, i heavily doubt she does, because why would she CHOSE to publish under a company that doesn’t allow bl or yaoi or shota. not to mention it’s so disrespectful when ppl bring up stuff she made more than 10 years ago that she’s probably embarrassed about. imagine how frustrating it is to work your ass of writing a series and developing the characters for over 10 years and all the fans want is to see the main characters fuck.

if you're talking about the ask i answered recently, i didn't say she ships it, i said she SHIPBAITS them, aka gross "fanservice", which is very apparent in the manga, though the shipping might be true as well.

and yes, kuroshitsuji was NEVER meant to be a yaoi or bl or anything like that, the publisher explicitly does not do those kinds of works, the whole "kuro was meant to be a yaoi!!!11" thing is a made-up rumor that i desperately wish would die already.

that said, her shotacon history would be just that, history, IF she hadn't still brought her tendencies and grossness INTO kuro with the fanservice-y shit. forgive me for assuming, but an ex-shotacon writer putting nsfw and suggestive content of a 13yo boy who is her current manga's protag does not indicate to me that she's left behind her ways in the least.

if she had wrote the entirety of kuro without the bullshit i would be inclined to think she had changed and was embarassed and didn't want that associated with her name anymore, but she is the one associating her name with this kind of stuff since the conception of kuro.

I'm 17. There was a time that happened recently when shippers were harassing a minor to kill themselves. I went to tell a more mature shipper about it. Lots of people have. But then they have the nerve to say that because it didn't revolve around THEM, they shouldn't care. And I'm like.... DUDE! Just because YOU weren't involved doesn't mean you shouldn't care. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but why do kuroshitsuji fans ship Sebastian and ciel? (I'm not in the kuroshitsuji fandom so I have no clue lmao) Did something happen between them? Or are they just shipped together because they are the main characters of the series?

probably the latter since they're canonically fairly close bc they're master and servant, and sebastian has been ciel's main bodyguard/protector/guardian for the past few years.

plus the sebaciel shippers are gross and want to fetishize the general power dynamics going on and the fact sebastian is an amoral demon teamed up with a traumatized preteen, which, for some reason is """hot"""" to them

also it doesn't help that yana toboso, the author/artist/creator, likes to shipbait them occasionally bc she's gross too and throws fuel on the fire. i still think s/bac/el would be the most popular ship even if she didn't shipbait but i don't think kuroshitsuji would have earned the reputation it has and attracted ppl outside of the fandom to join solely for that if she hadn't.
