SCP-2443 aka "REN"

Hands feel like human skin with burn scars compared to the rest of their body. In fact, their hands appear to be the most human trait about their physical appearance. Upon asking how they got the burn scars, I was told that they don't remember anything but the feeling of being burned and that it 'still hurts sometimes.'

The scars had to have been there before they became what they are now. They had to have been human before this.

They were born a human. Based on their mannerisms and way of socializing, they feel very human-like, almost kid-like. I could tell that they've aged based on skin and blood samples from their more human parts, so they age like normal.

They were a kid once. And based on their looks now, I'd have to say they were experimented on as a child. This is not a natural anomaly. This is a manmade anomaly.

More data is needed.

The following is found audio recordings from a seemingly abandoned M.E.G. outpost on Level 4. The contents found in said outpost alludes to a corrupt group within M.E.G. that did experimentations with entities, namely humanoids. The group was presumably destroyed by the M.M.

There was very little documentation left behind, and the only thing that is at least somewhat understandable is this audio tape. At this point in time, we are unable to come to any conclusions on what happened in this recording.

ok angelsona time!! cant believe it took me this long to post it here ssjsjsjjs,, anyways he/it pronouns for him (do not use they/them). these two are the same person just at different time intervals! the one on the left is how zen looks/acts on day 0. the right is sometime in the future (within a year). ignore how ass the one on the left looks, i was at WAR with art block while trying to get that done and i genuinely hate how it looks and i might remake it at some point. also ill come back and format this post better when i have access to my computer again </3 as always, links are underlined and all other artwork is under the cut!

There are no major changes from canon, especially since Saint made it loose enough for self inserts on purpose. All I can say with utmost certainty is that Zen is not human. Not entirely at least... also he doesn't know that.

So as for things that I have talked about that have been revealed in his story... which that will be uploaded here in chapter format most likely... we have:

As far as Zen knows, it's dad is dead. He set sail alone one day a little after it's twelfth birthday and never returned. Two weeks later, they found out there was a category 5 hurricane over where he would've been. They pronounced him dead that evening.

Both of his parents are native Scots and got married in Scotland before moving to Corland Bay, where Zen was born. They can all speak in Scottish Gaelic.

Zen was homeschooled up until university, where he attended the same university in canon, majoring in astrophysics.

Because of this, he has has a LOT of free time to do many things. He's lived most of his life on the beach and when not on the beach or doing schoolwork, he found himself immersed in deep diving on the internet and learning languages!

He is fluent in Gaelic (native tongue), English, French, Spanish, Latin, Japanese, Korean, and Russian. He's actively learning Italian and German. Also does have a Scottish accent, but he kinda trained it to be less noticeable.

Sometimes he'd sit in his dad's lap while he played his guitar and sang sea shanties. Hence his love for them and his ability to play the guitar. Also would play some video games with his dad (Zelda, Sonic, Megaman, Street Fighter, Minecraft, etcetc) which was something his dad picked up after discharging and moving to Corland!

The reason his parents had moved to Corland Bay was because his dad wanted to have a fresh start as a now veteran. He served in the British Royal Navy. (This was the Marine Corps originally, but I learned corland isnt based in the US and is completely fantastical, so. I had to change a few things. He wasn't part of the british army originally)

Zen is transmasc agender, post top surgery, and he came out as trans at 12 years old. He has no plans on getting any bottom surgeries.

Zen's deadname is never stated and never will be (since its my irl deadname) however, his dead nickname will be used a lot in his story. I do not consider the little girl I used to be as dead, and Zen doesn't either. She didn't die, she just transformed <3 /gen

Same disorders, disabilities, and phobias as me: Autism, ADHD, OCD, DPDR, (heavy) CPTSD, chronic migraines, germaphobia, and emetophobia.

Has major brainfog and doesn't remember majority of his childhood. Not related to the canon reason Angel has amnesia btw.

The brainfog started after his dad's death, and Zen started doing everything his dad did. It started to become it's dad, just so that it didn't forget him, too.

Has no sense of self because of this. ^ He doesn't know who he is because his life was spent living as his dad and he remembers nothing else beyond that.

Planned on moving to Scotland to join the Royal Navy in his dad's stead, but his mom wouldn't let him. She never gave him a reason why.

Zen's dad taught it morse code, taught it how to use a telescope and study the stars (hence astrophysics), and taught it how to sail and fish. A lot of the other water activities Zen does were learned on it's own later on in life, especially with Jae by it's side.

Speaking of, he met Jae before Jae transitioned! Only because of how often they both frequented the beach, they became really good friends who'd surf together a lot.

Zen has a decent build, actually! Due to the amount of physical activities he does on a very regular basis (as well as general work-outs to maintain said build and stamina) he's kept a steady in shape build!

Has a few... instances... that won't be discussed in this post but will be present in his story with proper TWs.

However! Becomes a lot more catlike (despite being a ferret at heart) and is often picked up by his under arms or his scruff by Ren (they both find it incredibly amusing)

By this point, [REDACTED] is actively being coaxed out of their "Ren" shell.

All of it's new piercings and tattoos were done by Ren. The sun tattoo was just added onto lol. A lot of it's tattoos are nerd references.

Becomes a recluse/hermit and refuses to step foot anywhere near the beach/ocean. Stays inside and plays video games, streams on twitch, keyboard warrioring on reddit, or cuddling up to Ren like a cat.

Refuses to wear the color blue (used hair dye remover to get the teal out of his hair). This excludes his tattoo of the Master Sword down his spine. In fact, that tattoo is important to him as its his final cry to mourn his dad.

Loses a lot of weight from lack of motivation to feed/care for itself. Ren is pretty much housewifing it up just to make sure Zen gets at least one meal a day. It'll regain that weight eventually, even if it's a slow process. However, it doesn't really work out? So it's a lot softer rather than built like he used to be. (Still maintained a lot of it's strength, though. It's stamina is what took the worst blow)

Becomes a true idgafer and doesn't care about anyone else aside from his loved ones. His moral compass, once really strong, has now been shattered.

Does learn about Redacted's red room days! Again, it's moral compass is gone lol so it doesn't care who Ren kills or what he does, as long as he doesn't come home smelling like blood and death. (Triggers his emeto)

Actually, give Zen some latex gloves, a gas mask, and some noise cancelling headphones, and it'd be down to help Ren hide a body or sit in the room with him while he goes about his business (just cus' it's clingy).

He doesn't necessarily enable Ren? But also doesn't care enough to stop them. As long as Ren comes home and loves him in all of Zen's broken glory, he dgaf.

- REN's voice claim in this AU (all around, in any form) is Simulacra! for this video, the voice in question starts at 0:12 seconds :D <3

- As stated in the images from the original post, REN is supposed to be extremely uncanny valley, i can't portray it very well with my current art style, but i do want to learn how to draw more unsettling horror. but. think... alternates... from the mandela catalogue (im normal i swear).
