The tiefling blinked, unsure exactly how to respond. On the one hand, he was many things, most of which would be considered by polite society to be unsavory, but he was not a stalker. On the other hand…yes, the disoriented greaser had in fact been following the man through the woods for a short time. “Whoa, hey, it ain’t like that, daddy-o!” he tried, holding his hands up defensively. Palms out, clearly unarmed. “I’m just tryin’ to find civilization, and you seem to know where you’re goin’.”

He’d pretty much been wandering aimlessly since the Nautiloid crash, with Shadowheart trailing closely behind, though they had met a couple of other survivors: an insufferable but otherwise harmless wizard trapped by his own magic, and a white-haired elf who continuously gave him the heebie jeebies. Perhaps that was why the other had felt like he was being stalked. “Did you see that massive ship that just crashed?” Johnny asked, hoping that explaining their situation might help curb the guy’s fear. “We were all on it. Actually,” he smirked back at Shadowheart, who returned his smug grin. “We were the ones who crashed it. Knocked off a whole bunch of them tentacled freaks in the process!” And fought a devil, which was weird. He was half tempted to show off the badass flaming sword he’d nicked from the thing shortly before shit went totally tits up, but he had a feeling that it would only spook the man further. “Bad part is, I’m not sure how many other prisoners like us survived, and I’m not from around here, so I don’t know where to go or who to ask about anything.” Hopefully, his honesty would endear him to this stranger.
