Today we must respect and honor an important cultural milestone that shaped the history of the United States.
On this day, in 1940, Hollywood photographer A.L. Schafer took this photo, which was designed to violate as much of the 1934 Hayes Code as he possibly could in a single shot. It was called "Thou Shalt Not":
After the image was mentioned in an October article about the decaying morality in Hollywood, Schafer's movie studio was fined $2,000 ($39,000 in today's money!) and it became a popular sort of underground pinup image for ne'er-do-wells in the movie making industry. Original prints are rare and valuable today.
So this September 11th we salute you, A.L. Schafer. The man was ahead of his time and had his priorities completely right: taking pictures of scantily-clad ladies beating cops to death to protest puritanical censorship is ABSOLUTELY worth costing your bosses several grand.

Taking a break from housework to express some thoughts on men before I lose it.
One of the most eye-opening things I’ve ever read was from a trans man expressing frustration at how capitalism/the patriarchy/toxic masculinity (etc) sort of prohibits close male companionship, plus now people of any gender who don’t know him treat him as a default threat. And he was talking about how that brings about this suffocating loneliness that he would never have known anything else if he wasn’t AFAB and experience with the inherent camaraderie of close female friendships.
And tying this together, I’m on hinge (a dating app) on and off, and with hinge, you can choose questions to answer in your profile. A LOT of cis men have “if you show me the bare minimum attention, I will love you” or some kind of variation. And maybe it’s just me or the type of women I’m attracted to, but I’ve only seen women with that in their profile once, if I remember it correctly.
I also think the idea that boys are the “easier” gender to raise is 1000% bullshit. I think that idea bleeds into how society treats boys and men as these emotionless creatures, which as the oldest of nine with five brothers is absolutely not true.
Idk I just think that’s like, really fucking sad? I’ve stopped saying stuff like “men are trash” because all I can think of is this horrifying loneliness these men must feel. And obviously it’s things like capitalism and patriarchy hurting them just as much as it hurts us, because that narrative really only serves the top 10%.

Today, July 19 2022, intersex genital mutilation is banned in Greece!! This is the fifth country in the world to ban intersex surgery at birth, and is a huge win for intersex people in Greece. So much appreciation and admiration to the activists from Intersex Greece who worked to pass this bill. The fight is not over, but this is an amazing step towards protecting intersex people.
Check out this article for more info!!

it annoys me when sapphic women see an attractive woman and are like “i’m no better than a man 😳😔” like BABE you are allowed to see an attractive woman and want to fuck her!!! free yourself from the cottagecore PG13 narrative of sapphic attraction, look at her with lust in your heart!!!

In much better and happier news Buffalo after decades of hard work and conservation efforts from indigenous organizations have finally been released back on our lands after 150 years.
I saw this video live and cried my eyes out. This is so important. Despite it all we survived. We're still here and the possibility to heal the land and ourselves is always there even if it will take time.
