I almost forgot to mention: this woman came into the penguin enclosure with a KESTREL??? I said âoh my god is that an American Kestrel?â and she said âYes! She was outside doing raptor education for the kids, but she doesnât like to get rained on.â

you guys can ignore this if you want but i just need to⊠process this a little
there is something particularly⊠awful, about chadwicks loss, somehow. i cant even begin to imagine the battle he was going through, fighting cancer while filming and giving the most stunning and moving performances cinema had seen in a long time, and for that alone, this man is stronger than any of us. I can only wish his family the best, strength in these trying times, and pray they are okay.Â
and something about his death happening now, in this year, hits me even harder. to lose such an icon for black people everyone in this damned year feels⊠like so much. Chadwick was much more than TâChalla, and it would do everyone some good to remember that, when a lot of people seem to take advantage of this moment to reduce a manâs entire life to a fictional character when his loss is something very real, and very painful - but at the same time, the meaning Black Panther had for young black people and the fact that Chadwick gave us a black superhero, black royalty, black excellence, in such a high profile movie series, to lose him now is a tragedy beyond words.Â
Call him king, because thatâs what he was. But donât forget he was more than that, even. Power that transcended the screen. I donât pretend to know how black people must be feeling over his loss, but now more than ever i worry, because we all need strength, black people more than anyone else, and this is⊠a lot to take in. just a lot.
for my followers, particularly my black followers, i also hope you are okay. stay safe, take care, and dont give up
may chadwick rest in peace. he gave us so much, we will never forget his legacy

Well this is just freaking adorable
Memorial Day
Summary: Steve and Bucky go to the museum on Memorial Day A/N: I just couldnât get this out of my head and I just had to write it out. Let me know what you think. Thank you to those who serve/served. Word count : 650
Bucky pulled his baseball cap lower as he walked behind Steve. It had been Steveâs idea to visit the museum on their walk, Bucky had been hesitant but his therapist had suggested it earlier so he gritted his teeth and followed Steve. Steve dressed similarly in a baseball cap, walked into museum straight past his face plastered on the wall. Buckyâs eyes widened slightly as they roamed over his best friendâs face so largely printed. Sometimes it was still jarring to Bucky, heâd remember how they grew up, the scrappy fights he saved Steve from and then he remembered everything else and it felt like a bucket of ice water over his head. Steveâs voice pulled him from his thoughts, Bucky focussing on his face as Steve nodded to something behind Bucky. Bucky looked behind him, moving out of the way of a group of people. He tilted his face lower, avoiding eye contact as Steve did the same. They walked further into the exhibition together.
âDid we have to come on Memorial Day?â Bucky grumbled, eyes focussing on all the people milling about.
âWeâre remembering, and Dr. Bourke said it would be good for you-â Steve looked at Bucky, pausing when he saw his skittering eyes â-we can go if you want, Buckâ
Bucky shook his head and a sad smile gracing his lips, âletâs go remember those idiotsâ he joked, nodding up ahead to the billboard of The Howling Commandos. Steve and Bucky stood shoulder to shoulder staring at the faces of people they had lost, including theirs. Bucky stood on Steveâs right, with his arm still not replaced he rarely let anyone on that side beside Steve.
âDo you still think about them?â Bucky asked quietly, thoughts and memories running around in his head.
âEvery dayâ Steve mumbled back, his eyes not leaving those of his men.
Bucky was pulled out of his thoughts by a tugging on his arm. His brows furrowed before he looked down to see a little girl tugging at his sleeve. She was maybe 5 or 6, blonde hair in a messy ponytail a cute dress on. The only abnormality in her appearance was the medal pinned to her dressed proudly shining amongst the soft pink of the fabric. Steve looked on, as Bucky crouched down to her level. A woman stood close by, the little girl nervously looking back at her. The woman - her mother â nodded with an encouraging smile.
âAre you-â she pauses to look up at the poster of the Howling Commandos â- Sergeant Barnes?â her voice was quiet and unsure. An involuntarily smile spread on Buckyâs face as he nodded once.
âIâm Bucky and thatâs Steveâ he gestured over his shoulder to Steve who smiled tenderly at the young girl.
She grinned brightly at the two before motioning for Bucky to hold his hand out which he did willing. She opened his palm and placed something in his hand. Bucky looked down and saw two homemade bracelets with letter blocks spelling out two words, Thank You. She looked him in the eyes, his eyes lifting from the bracelets to hers. âThank you for your serviceâ the words held sincerity he didnât think one could muster at that age, yet she managed. She smiled at both Bucky and Steve, who watched the exchange behind his friend. She turned to walk back to her mother but looked over her shoulder to give a small wave and bright smile. Bucky and Steve waved before nodding to the mother as the woman did the same in silent gratitude.
Buckyâs knees clicked as he stood up next to Steve, handing one of the handcrafted bracelets to him. Steve looked down at the bracelet before clapping Bucky on the back gently. âHappy Memorial Day, palâ
Bucky shot Steve a soft smile, pocketing the bracelet. It was a Memorial Day he wouldnât be forgetting.

10 & 18 :)
10. what are you going to do once the quarantine is over?
Hopefully go back to work haha. My job revolves around lots of people getting together for events so this has all been extra dumb for me. Once the risk of the virus is over, Iâll probably just want to see friends and family. And eventually go to the concerts that are getting postponed.
18. what do you miss the most?
Doing random nonsense with my sister or boyfriend: going to the second-hand LEGO store an hour away, playing Pokemon Go in the next city over, going to Marietta to buy Funko POPs, heck even just being able to go âweâre hungry.. letâs go.. um.. thereâ and just stopping wherever to eat.

Silly banter is one of my favorite things and these three goofs are the perfect subjects. I'm excited to read more on both sides of this story!
Art 265 (1)
Word Count: 1086
Summary: Steve and Sam join Bucky in his office for lunch.
A/N: I am FINISHED with college, I am TIPSY, and I am EXCITED to finally share this silly nonsense with you.
Reader PerspectiveÂ
Steve paused outside the door for roughly half a second before letting himself into Buckyâs office, the disapproving look he received in response having no impact on him whatsoever.Â
âYouâre not even going to pretend to knock first anymore? Just bust in here like you own the place?â
Steve raised an eyebrow in challenge.
âYouâve never knocked on my door in your life, so I donât want to hear it.â

12 Hours | 1:20 AM
Post-Endgame Drabble Series
Pairing: Bucky x Reader (F)
Warnings: Angst, smoking, canon-typical violence, mention of drug use
Word count: 2,529
A/N: I hope the events in this part makes up for the long wait. If you wanna be tagged, send an Ask.
12 Hours masterlist link in bio
1:20 AM
Your refusal to call it a night is what brings you to a secluded street corner right across a 24-hour liquor store. You and Bucky stand side by side, leaning against his motorcycle while you soaked in the scenery.
There were a number of seedy bars with worn out neon signs along the street. At the far end, you could make out a couple food trucks. The streetlights were scarce, perfectly hiding you in the shadows of the buildings and prevented you from being recognized by the handful of passers-by.Â
Not many words had been exchanged since you left the rooftop garden, but something had evidently shifted in your moods. Bucky for one, was more physically affectionate, taking every opportunity he could to hold your hand and keep you as close to him as possible.Â
