Junior Studio Work PART 2
For my second project of the semester I made a pair of hand gloves that were stuffed and had clay sculptures. The progress of making the doll really impacted me and made me realize how much I enjoyed it so I wanted to continue with doing the same thing.
Here are some final pictures of the front of the palm area. I am in love with sculpting eyes for some reason so I replaced the finger nails with the eye sculptures like how I did with the doll.
Here is the back of the hand. I decorated the seams with pearls and ruffles since I believe it complimented the fabric pretty well.

Junior Studio Work PART 1
Starting my new year I was a bit intimidated. I honestly did not have the best time during my previous semester but I knew that I wanted to test myself for my Spring semester. Spring semester was were I started doing a lot of sketching and I still do to this day. My sketchbook felt so flexible and I could sense the need for it to display all of my art dump. I finally felt inspired.
This page displays some of the ideas I had brewing in my head. I am still quite excited to execute the other ideas whenever I get the opportunity and time to make them. It was helpful to include a material list and timeline to keep myself on track.
After figuring out what I wanted to make I also wanted to include how I felt about it. Like actually felt about it. Not as an assignment but feelings on where this piece came from in my head. Especially when it is a piece after the pandemic. I had such an intense art block before this semester so this semester was very impactful for me artistically. This piece came from a place of wrapping my head around being perceived and having the thought that people are constantly perceiving me. I was also just asking myself a lot of questions on how this piece would mean to me and the thoughts that would run through my head while I work on it.
Doing multiple sketches helped with visualizing how I wanted the doll to look like and how the form would affect my own perspective on it.
This is the final result. It was a little bit spooky to have it hung up but the affect having it be able to be standing up was so exciting. I felt that really humanized it.
Does it not look so freaky?
For the fabric I used clothes I had stored away for donations. I sewed them up and used poly-fil to stuff the limbs. I wanted to use different pieces of fabric since there were so many textures available, I really just wanted to have fun and see how all the fabrics worked together.
I think the unsettling vibe of not even the feet touching the floor works really well in this picture.
How I was able to make this piece stand was by using an embroidery hoop and tying a bunch of red yarn on it that is also attached to the doll body. To decorate the pieces of yarn I decided to make these charms made out clay with different shapes. I added eye balls and horns and used different types of paint colors.
Here is the left hand! Since there was not head I still wanted to use facial features so I decided to ass them as finger nails. I loved making the eyes so there is going to be a lot of eye motifs in my pieces, especially out of clay!!
This is the right hand!

Welcome to my creation hub!
This is where I would like to share my creations to people who are like minded or wish to appreciate my work. Currently, I enjoy working with fibers, soft sculpture, and clay. I hope to expand on wearable sculptures and installations.
Any feedback or just a simple conversation is super welcomed! ♡
Some things about myself;
I am 23 and currently in my last year of college.
I have 3 cats named Inky, Suki, and Miso who are my world and would do anything for.
I am into anything medieval (Lord of the Rings, DND, Game of Thrones, etc.)
I wish to collab with other artists in performance and crafting.
I would love to learn and talk to other artists who use the same techniques as I do.
Thank you so much for reading :’)
