Spoilers for ep 8 & 9

I have a lot of mixed feelings about the final but I overall felt that the story was great

I think if we had like one more episode we could have had a lot more wrap up for Agatha and Rio, or even just context

I feel like the biggest problem people had was that we didn’t really have context to work with. They said these such specific lines that hinted to a bigger story line between them and then gave us nothing :/

One could argue that maybe the story doesn’t end here but…there’s like a 3/10 chance it will continue or it’ll take a long ass time before we see them in a project together again that will still probably give us very little to work with

It feels betraying how they killed Agatha in this series considering it really felt like the writers saw us and understood how queer (specifically wlw) representation goes in current media with the whole “kill your gays trope” and the string of cancellations

Again we could argue that Rio and Agatha’s story isn’t over but with wlw centered relationships/shows typical don’t get the green light for a second season or anything like that

That feels the most betraying to me; that they played into the trope, maybe hoping they could get more from it by leaving it up in the air, but realistically that’s just not the type of attention our audience is afforded

I remember when Agent Carter was first airing and being completely blown away by the kiss between Peggy and Dottie. I remember thinking like “wow, this is big. Marvel’s probably never ganna do something like this again.” Being a young lesbian at the time, I thought that was the peak of representation I was ever ganna get from them.

The context of that scene wasn’t in anyway romantic, plus it was an early marvel tv series, and I’m still firmly a Cartinelli shipper, but I clung to that kiss in my youth.

Now having Agatha All Along with so much queer rep in just under 10 years since Agent Carter seems wild. Like I’m so deeply obsessed with this show and have been obsessed with Agatha’s character since Wandavision. To see a show focused on queer main characters but that also not being their core personality trait means so much. I love that.

Episode 6 y’all

Okay. I see some of y’all are mad. I get it. I do. I wish for more lesbians too :( but we were not robbed of anything. As lesbians are we not well versed in the art of slow burn yearning? We will get there y’all, just gotta hold out.

I loved it tho. I think marvel thought that Teen being Billy was ganna be a better kept secret than it was. I’ve been very impatiently waiting for marvel to give us more traction with the Young Avengers so I ate this episode up.

Also why is nobody talking about AGATHA AS JOLENE. I thought that was so funny!! (If I read that part right, I need to go back and rewatch it) But also the young Agatha in the hat was a 10 for me and I refuse to give any explanation.

Finally the most important part,,, Agatha being a supportive wicked surrogate mother is everything to me. Immediately she doesn’t blame him for Lilia and Jen. Immediately she comforts him about what he did to survive. She offers to teach him to control his powers. Even if neither of them trust the other or have the best intentions, she’s offering him what nobody ever offered her. :( that may not be her son y’all but that’s her son.

Ep 6 predictions

Okay yall, I had to sit and digest that whole episode for good 30 minutes. I need a hug.

It’s a fake out. Lilia says “I can’t do this again” or along those lines. Nobody’s dead, nothings happened. This was a set up for Lilia’s trial. We are glimpsing into how she sees things play out. (Maybe I’m delusion, in denial, wishful thinking, etc, ik okay)

All that in mind… we’re forgetting more of Lilia’s predictions. “Alice don’t” “We have to save Agatha”. All things that would line up with this episode but in the context of Lilia knowing what was about to go down.

Last thing… Agatha and rio are so gay I love it :,( the scene in front of the moon, Rio being like “her mother can’t have her”, so heartbreaking.

This show is just Mommy Issues on mommy issues on mommy issues.
