This blog is dedicated to the improvement of art and the idea that not all bad artists are bad forever. "Talent is a pursued interest. In other words, anything that you're willing to practice, you can do." -Bob Ross "Sometimes it can be bad art, but not that bad of a concept." -inqling "just draw a fuckton, because every new thing you draw is one drawing better than you were before." -abakkus

Different Advantages come with each technique.
If you separate the grey from colours, you can toggle either one separately. If you wanted to change the shape of the watercolour, you only need to affect the grey layer and then edit the colour later. The different values of colour are already chosen for you by the different greys beneath, so there’s no guess work involved. One disadvantage is that the colours won’t always come out the way you expect unless you toggle the layer properties.
Advantages that come with colouring all on one layer is that the colours may come out brighter because you’ll be picking them yourselves. You can achieve the same effect with one layer and without having to toggle any layer properties. The disadvantages include needing to pick colours by eye to get the different values, and that may be more time consuming than if you were to only select greys. Changing colours will require separate layers in order to preserve the values that has already been established.
I hope this has been helpful and informative to you! Happy arting, Keep making the world beautiful :D!

I'm feeling a bit down about my art because I'm not the best at it. What do you do when you feel like that?
Draw the silliest dumbest looking thing I can think of without trying to make it look good. Like draw a person but mess with the anatomy or super exaggerate other features. Draw a made up weird looking animal. Try to draw something you’ll look at later and go “oh what the shit is this”. I don’t know how it’ll work for you, but it gives me a laugh and helps me realize that drawing isn’t always about making everything look perfect. Just keep in mind that the more you draw and practice, no matter what it is, the more improvement you’ll see when you look back.

It’s okay to be slow when you’re making art.
So I kind of wanted to make a post about this.
I know some of you look around, and you see all these artists making such beautiful art in time spans of like an hour or a few hours, and then you look at your work and you get so demoralized because you’re taking so long.
I’m here to tell you that that’s perfectly okay. You’re not other artists. You are you, and your work defines you. If you need to take 10 hours, or even days to complete your art piece, it is okay, because it’s yours. You’re doing your best to make your art what you want it to be, and just because you can’t do it in a few hours like other artists do, it doesn’t make the value of your work any less. In fact, your patience and perseverance is absolutely admirable.
Take your time. You’re using your hands to create something that you love. Don’t let the people around you that you see hinder that in any way. You will definitely get faster in time, but if you give up now, thinking that you’ll always be this slow when you make art, you’ll never reach that stage. This applies not only to art, but also to other skills that you’re trying to pick up.
So look at what you yourself are doing, instead of looking around at others. Don’t worry too much, and enjoy yourself in the process of creation and learning! :)

Just an easy trick I learned a few years ago that I thought I’d share. May not work 100% all the time, but works well for simple hand/arm placement.

Ok, so that first was was supposed to able to read minds??? idk it was from fifth grade. It’s better to focus on what can be improved and work towards it instead of pointing out everything wrong and doing nothing about it.
