on the topic of Izuku’s mischaracterization, I don’t really think he’s ever been feminine. Just cause he can show his tears and show that he’s upset doesn’t mean that he’s some dude who wears skirts and stuff.

I think people confuse his personality with like a femboy (no hate to those who are) because of how skittish he can be. When in reality it’s because of how he was constantly bullied and his low self esteem. Or maybe they got that idea because of that one filler episode where a dude took a picture with Izuku and the way he was posing 😭

and I do call Izuku a bean, but only cause I find him adorable, and I like his personality. (he could tell me everything is going to be okay while in a burning building and I’d probably believe him).

also I don’t think there’s anything wrong with calling a guy cute. Like you could call Bakugo cute when he pouts, but he probably wouldn’t all of a sudden go “oh my fucking god don’t call me cute you’re undermining my masculinity.” but constantly saying that “Izuku would definitely wear a skirt to blah blah blah” is definitely mischaracterization.

and to that ask, while I don’t think they meant any harm, and Izuku would maybe wear a skirt so the girls can wear pants, but only after some persuasion and if every other boy did it, he’d probably only do it to help and not wear skirts as a fashion choice.

I’m genuinely so done with the mischaracterization of Deku 😭 it’s so aggravating to see since he’s such a good character. (Im writing this bc of the ask u got about the skirt bc I literally never see anyone talk about how people fetishize him so much) especially since he’s a minor it’s so weird, even when people age him up, they still mischaracterize him. I think people should be able to write however they want, but fetish-type of asks to minor characters (and sometimes the person behind the role-play accounts could be a minor) is gross andweird, and it should be talked about more. This is just kinda a rant, sorry about that 😭
