I’ve been meaning to do a giveaway for a long time now—first for 500 followers, then 600, then 626—but kept not getting around to it.  So I figured that 650 was a random, yet round enough number to work with, since you guys are all so great!

Oh wow, you're working on a webcomic? Exciting!

I’ve been holding off on doing environment designs for this webcomic series I’m planning for fear of settling on something dumb and being stuck with it (since the whole thing takes place in one enclosed environment), but it occurs to me that if I got really stuck, I could always just change it in between stories and claim that it had been renovated…

(Or even have the trouble area be destroyed during a story…)

More General George. Indulge me, I’ve had kind of a crappy week and I just wanna draw fat, grumpy toddlers and giant slugs all day. 

Belzubian land slugs make pretty lousy pets. They live for about 150 years, are wholly untrainable, will coat every surface in your house with their mucilage, have been known to accidentally smother small children, and they will eat all your wallpaper, books, houseplants and hair. They do not bond with their owners in any discernible way. Just about the only useful thing they do is eat the mildew off your bathroom tile grouting.

I hasten to point out that these vignettes were absolutely in no way inspired by a recent visit from my own beloved ma.

So I haven’t answered an email or Tumblr message in almost three months, partly owing to the fact that I’ve been traveling through wild and wifi-less parts, but mostly owing to the fact that I am a Terrible Person. Although I remain a Terrible Person, I am no longer on the road, so I’ll start working through my unanswered correspondence just as soon as I can. Thanks for being patient with me, folks.

Also, now that I’m back home in my beloved swamp, regular updates should be resuming shortly. This may or may not be a good thing.
