Hey becs, today's the 12th anniversary of Desmond's sacrifice, I know it was 10 years before I was recruited but how've you and Shaun been holding up since then?
And how's William been handling it?
Well, it was definitely rough for a long time. And even after Abstergo scientists made a colossal goof (on their part) and brought back Desmond and Clay, it’s still a really rough day. I could absolutely waste all of my time, even now, second-guessing everything we all did from then until now, even though it’s been so many years since it all happened.
William usually goes completely no contact on this day every year. Usually he comes back into contact the next day….some times it takes a little longer and Gavin has to smack some sense into him.
As for today, Desmond and Elijah are over and spending the day with us. Elijah is definitely old enough to understand the significance. Ada is way too young to understand but is happy to see her Uncle “Deh-Deh.” It’s going to be a quiet day with our found family.
And then tomorrow we may need to help William sober up.

Rebecca was close to beating Shaun to the very end when she developed a cramp in her bad leg, causing her to stumble a bit.
She watched as her husband just beat her to the finish line by a hair….and with a cheeky smile she tackled him to the ground after.
“That was a lucky break for you!” She said with a grin, and looked up at Desmond and Shay while her husband struggled to get up. “I’m still better at this, right?”
Eleven years since that day. By all official reports no one expected him to still be alive. Yet here he is, living in New York, right under everyone's noses, and actually still actively an assassin. Though not in any modern cells. Can't be alerting William Miles now. He's called a shadow, a ghost, a phantom. Yet no one from the modern brotherhood can keep up with him. Those who have seen him mention the brown hair, brown eyes, face scar and tattoo that are too familiar to anyone who knows him. But worrying parts of the report mentioned his blackened arm, and the markings of the ISU in that same side of his body. Those who have followed him, find he's not alone with a found family of his own.
(Hi From Ashes We Rise Up Hidden Ones here! I thought I'd leave you a Desmond survived rp starter.)
Rebecca frowned as she went through the newest files she had acquired as part of what was being called “Lazarus.” Rather than trying to revive someone themselves, Rebecca and her partner in crime (and everything else) Shaun were clinging to hope that their friend Desmond had returned from the dead.
It was an insane hope, and one they didn’t believe in for years, but the photos were real. The security camera footage was real. And it almost seemed….intentional. Like Desmond was leaving them bread crumbs to come and find him, like a fairy tale come to life.
Rebecca and Shaun were in New York, finally, but it wouldn’t be easy. They had to hide from their fellow Assassins who wouldn’t approve, hide from the Templars who wanted them dead, all the while looking to see if Desmond really, really was alive.

Rebecca grabbed onto Shaun’s arm and dragged him to the parkour course. “Come on….let’s race. Winner will….eh, we’ll decide later. Don’t need to traumatize the others.” She grinned over at Desmond, Shay, and Jacob.

“Gee, that doesn’t sound familiar at all.” Rebecca said, rather snarkily, as she turned to look at Shaun. After the incident in London several years ago, he had always been worrying for her health…even when he was the one worse for wear on a mission.

Rebecca laughed out loud at that. “Really? That freaks you out? What are you, Jacob, twelve? You should see me when my bad leg acts up.”
Rebecca gently patted the scar under her jeans from when she broke her leg in several places at nineteen. Even now, in her late thirties, she sometimes dealt with the pain.

Hey Becca, sorry I was late to celebrate Shaun's birthday, Sigma Team raided one of our safe houses in Brazil.
Could you please tell him I said "happy birthday"?
Abstergo's gonna be SO pissed when they see what's on the hard drive I left there 🤭.
It’s okay—Lovey gave us all stomach flu for Shaun’s birthday so we didn’t get to celebrate until now.
I will tell him happy birthday for you, and I wish I could see Abstergo’s collective faces. 😈

“…..I would have beat them up too. And….I understand feeling like a mistake.” Rebecca patted her left leg where she knew she had a scar. “I joined the Assassins as a tech expert, but I felt like the odd one out because I wasn’t combat ready. And….I’m never going to be as combat ready as some because of my limitations. I broke my leg in several places when I was 19, and it still gives me pain ever so often. But….I still can help in the ways that I can. And anyone who judges me for what I can and cannot do deserves a punch in the face. And it’s the same for you.”
Rebecca paused, and winked at her husband. “Besides, at least I could do a full push up when I joined, unlike someone here…”
Shaun groaned. “Yes….I know. I also didn’t join the Assassins combat ready…and I’m sure my initial pitiful attempts at calisthenics was entertaining to many.”

“Good….Jacob, you’re doing a really great job. How much experience do you have in technology like this?”
Rebecca mentally had guessed little to none, given Jacob’s situation, but he was doing a good job. AND he was very interested in the work, which was more important. She could teach a lot about computers and technology, but it depended on how much the student was willing to learn. (Something she learned sort of the hard way with her husband.)

While the room looked like a mess at first glance, Rebecca had everything surprisingly organized. She quickly explained to Desmond what she needed he and Jacob to put together first before she went back to working on a line of code with Shaun.

Before Shaun could say anything in response, Rebecca poked her head out of the communications room, having heard the last comment. “Get in here, we have plenty to do to get the system ready in this century. “Hey, sometimes breaking stuff is how you learn. At least, that’s how I learned.” She lead Jacob over to the other room and started getting some of the labeled items out. “Alright….” She started, giving Jacob basic instructions for the first steps.
