shoutout to becky albertalli. got absolutely lambasted for her very intelligent and heartfelt queer book because of its oversimplified, hollywood-ified, hit and miss but ultimately fine film adaptation (which never gets credit for being the victory that it was for queer rep because… people who couldn’t watch priscilla queen of the desert or paris is burning without passing out from shock decided it wasn’t ‘good enough’). she comes out. she gets lambasted some more. she writes a new romance book about comphet and allyship going hand in hand and breaking out of expectations, and manages to write a character you want to kill MORE than martin addison, to represent all of those swooning queers (but also acknowledge that they’re acting from a place of real trauma, even if their behaviour is unacceptable).

anyway give that woman her dues and if you’re in the mood for a delightful sapphic YA romance that’s also a massive middle finger to people who try to dictate the identities of others, go read imogen, obviously

simply cannot deal with the way the gods were looking at athena, lying bloody on the ground, or the look on zeus face when he realized what he had done athena, that felt lonely in her own family to the point of befriending two mortals athena, that saw the love odysseus holds for his son and how all encompassing it is struck down by her own father, because he couldn't handle losing a game

i keep saying it but just love the video game/anime inspiration like as we approach the end of the musical its just so apparent lol

gods game as a tournament for athena i just kept thinking about my hero academia LMAO wolfy did so good presenting the gods in the animatic

i just think of telemachus similar to hinata from haikyu -- like he's just a bundle of joy/sunshine to me hehe

of course i will draw ody angst but wanted to get the fun moments out of the way

i kinda wanna draw an anime style god games poster kinda like a promo art for a show but then too many characters (lazy)

athena/telemachus was one of my fav duos in the Odyssey and this musical just made me love it more

Lightning scars!

To my knowledge these are usually pretty temporary. Though I imagine with how often Jessie and James get zapped, theirs are a bit more severe/long lasting. They cover them up with makeup in the places where the scars would show.

Ash's go away quick. They're usually on his hands because he has, willingly given Pikachu his hand to shock in order to help him think, get an idea or wake up (this is a thing he actually does in the show LOL)
