"Yea I think I am." Ogi smiled, readying herself for the continuance of their quest, "I guess we track and see exactly where the beasts went to?" She looked around, spotting a few tracks for the monster they were tasked with going against and found a few scales. They wouldn't fetch too much but there was always clientele for everything.
"Good to know there are people out there willing to help, even if it is for a price."

The letter was written well and in his language so he could better understand.
"Good evening! I apologize for the letter and me not meeting you personally to congratulate you for what you've done. The thrall of a creature like her is incredibly dangerous but with your assistance, we will be able to save many more men from her grasp. No need to worry, we will dispose of her as is necessary."
As Garruk read the letter, there would be a slight rustling in the woods, the slight smell of iron and brimstone filling the air.

It was a beautiful day outside and Ogistune felt the need to take advantage of it. Usually, it was too cold or the snow was way too hard but now, the snow was quite soft and pliant with the sun giving a nice bit of heat to the land. These were the days she loved more than anything cause it meant she could go to her favorite hot spring spot and relax for a bit.
Her home was in the middle of a vast field with animals grazing along lazily but surrounding them was a heavy, thick forest that shielded them from the outside. The mountains lining the horizons were massive and all encompassing; meeting in the middle to create the valley she lived in with her father. With a huff, Ogi would grab her clothes and start to get them on. Once she put on her kimono and heavy jacket, all pure white, she would grab a small bag and walked out, blending into the background with ease.
She would hurry into the forested mountainside to the hotsprings.

As the owl perched, it got nice and comfortable before messing around with its left leg. Carefully, it opened a messenger pouch and handed a folded piece of paper to Garruk. The owl seemed to be only there to deliver the message and once he took the paper, it would go and fly away, ready to return to its master.

Ogi nodded, reaching into her bag to pull out the item Garruk had reminded her of before. Potions weren't common in her home so she didn't know what it was at first. Hearing what it was gave her some reprieve as she opened it. "Thankfully I do have it..." she looked to her lower left abdomen, pulling up her shirt a bit to show a bleeding wound which had been patched up. "I got nicked but it isn't deep so I could still fight." She drank he liquid, visibly cringing at the taste but made sure to drink as much as needed for the wound to close up and the pain to subside. "I'm glad we got out of the fight with all our fingers and toes."

"Garruk!" Ogi called, rushing to his side as the Ludroth fled into the brush, "It's still alive... are you hurt anywhere?" She looked him over, more focused on his wounds than her own. As she learned from a young age, those that were able to take hits were to be tended to first. They were the shield that protected the weaker warriors and a vital part of any fight. They couldn't take too much time to tend to wounds, but she could offer a salve to help any aches or pains.
"The smaller ones are all taken care of, there aren't any eggs or smaller ludroths leftover. All thats left is the mother."

Her eyes widened as he spoke. Ogi rushed to Garruk, reaching a hand out to grab him before he left, but found she could not. She held her hand close to her chest, tears forming as she stood in the doorway, watching him leave as she desperately tried to find a way to get to him. "Garruk! Garruk wait! Wait, what did he say to you?! Come back!" But there was no voice outside of the houses' walls.
As Garruk walked further and further from the home, a small owl joined his path, flying low enough to let the two wanderers know of it's presence, but high enough to keep out of reach. It watched them both carefully to find a moment to perch on either one of the two.

"Don't cart..? Sure, fine." She groaned, hurrying to where she knew the nest was hidden. There were quite a bit of Ludroths near the entrance, chattering amongst themselves at the notion of possibly getting fresh food. Ogi frowned, still holding her side as she went to find a way around the small horde. Only 5, but it was a lot for one injured person to deal with.
She huffed, managing to find herself on one side of the entrance and threw a rock forward, causing them to come out a bit more for her to strike. They were small, so it wasn't too much of a hassle, but it still took a while to get through all of them. She was grateful speed was the one thing she focused on while training or else this fight could've gone worse.
It was only when Ogi knew they were all down or killed before she hurried back to where she left Garruk to deal with the Alpha.

personal headcannon that kitsunes change their shape at will and if they do, their extra height/weight goes right into fluffier tails.
v convenient when a kitsune is injured so they can have a comfy pillow and be smol. Ogi likes to be in this form more than anything.

Ogi groaned, holding her side as Garruk jumped into the air and challenged the Ludroth to a fight. Thankfully, she was holding her own against the beast, but this wasn't a fight for one person. Two maybe but this creature was mean, strong and more importantly... She stood, standing behind Garruk before placing a hand at his side, "There's a nest." she huffed, motioning to a mound in the distance behind the Ludroth.
"It's gonna be extra feisty because of it. It's already slammed me around quite a bit and I've gotten a few good licks in.'' She looked around, trying to see if there were any places they could lead it to, "No doubt there'll be spawn around but I haven't seen any so far."

Ogitstune was ready to take back the joke, noting how inappropriate it was given recent events and information, but Garruks statement made her stop. Her eyes widened at the question, the implication was only surface deep; that she would want to eat him. She looked away, placing down her snack as she stood up, the air around them suddenly lowering to a freezing temperature.
Her eyes gazed to him with a death glare, "Maybe you would. Maybe there are already other yokai out there who are searching for you to make a meal out of once you leave my protection? Or maybe I've been fattening you up for a chance to strike when you and your wolf are asleep? It isn't wise to speak all your thoughts, Garruk."
Ogi looked towards Alasdair, "I'd recommend you both to gather your belongings as after tonight, you are no longer guests in my home. I will feed you one last meal and by sunrise, I expect you to be gone lest you wish to see how a kitsune hunts her prey."

Ogi nodded, creating a drawing of the man. At his question, she ripped the page out of her book and crumpled it up, letting it fall to the ground. The paper, once it hit the ground, would disappear in blue flames. "Yokai live and get stronger from the consumption of magical energy. We naturally filter magic through our bodies to stay alive, but to get stronger, we need a big pool of magic. Humans are a really good source of magic."
She shrugged, going to the kitchen to take our snacks, "Humans have a special organ in their body which stores magic, but less than 1% of humans can use it, so it becomes like a sealed bag full of magic that we can eat and use. Many kitsunes and oni have eaten humans to become stronger.
Ogi brought back some rice balls to snack on, giving a smile before sitting in the living area, "I make sure that doesn't happen though. We live a peaceful life with humans, no documented attacks since I took over. Plus, humans don't even taste good, probably too tough." she joked

It was okay, she didn't see any smaller monsters at the moment so it couldn't be that close could it? Ogi took a deep breath, looking around as she continued to search the area. "Of course we split up, of course I find where the monster is... Of course I only have a stupid knife to deal with it!" She was way too under prepared for this fight and now she was about to get into a big fight.
The area was silent until she heard a snapping of twigs behind her. She whipped her body around, finding herself looking into pitch black eyes with a dampness filling the area. "Sh-!"
The flare would soar into the air and explode in a red burst.

Ogi would walk with them out of the town, noting how nice the townspeople were today. She'd offer a piece to Alasdair as well and eat one herself. It was a good snack before their next meal, which Ogi noted would be some rice balls and soup that she'd make herself. She didn't really seem to have a feeling that something was off with the two at all, barely mentioning the strange man until they got to the house.
Once there, she'd grab a piece of paper, "Okay, he had brown hair... glasses on... looked well put together... If you guys could help with describing that guy, I'd appreciate it. I'm going to send out a warning to the mountain about it. Someone might try to make a meal out of him and we can't have that."

She'd go in the opposite direction, keeping low to the ground to search for unusual tracks near the waters edge. All seemed calm for the time being, which made her more and more on edge. For a monster, one would expect more of a commotion, more noise, and much more remnants of prey scattered about, but there seemed to be nothing around. Ogi kept her blade in her free hand as she looked around for possible droppings as well.
She huffed, thinking that the monster had already moved away from the area until she caught sight of small, three toed tracks. She took a closer look, catching that the toes seemed to be webbed, "Shit..." She groaned, readying the flare as the familiar rumble of a large beast filled the air. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me..."

"Pfft, don't think just cause I'm interested in your gadgets means I'm gonna open up for you all of a sudden." Ogi teased back, standing and stretching as she looked around. "Should we split up north and south to try and get as much ground covered as possible?" She was thinking of the many ways she could cover ground while also searching for the monster. The picture was helpful since she had never seen one before so it would probably be easy to find. The only thing was they were at a disadvantage if they split up.
"At the first sign of trouble, we call for each other." she nodded, mostly speaking to herself, "Lets go hunting."

She smiled, kneeling beside him, "Well, consider me very lucky to have someone as knowledgeable as you as my hunting partner. I usually just hit things over and over again until they die, but this seems much more... efficient." Ogi tilted her head, "I didn't expect my first hunt to be so informative to be quite honest."

"Eh? Well, being what I am, there's always bound to be people after me. Many yokai in my territory have been hunted to near extinction throughout my life, and I'm no exception to that." Ogi shrugged with a sigh, not catching Alasdairs insinuation. "I didn't sense any magic around the area, so I'm guessing he's probably some human man who's been on the internet too much. We should probably head back I guess. Ah!"
She rummaged through the bag and held up some jerky, "The lady at the shop gave me this for free. It's deer jerky for the walk back home if you want some." She gave a big smile, totally unaware of what had transpired mere moments before.
