i love disaster cook annabeth, because realistically she has no reason to know how to cook until she is technically an adult, but - i wrestle with my internal desire for comedy, which is annabeth making terrible food, and my desire for sweetness, which is percy teaching annabeth to cook. so i've learned to justify having both. i think percy is somehow hotter when he's cooking, so annabeth is just staring at him and hearing about a tenth of what he's saying, so she continues to make terrible food that eventually graduates to better food, but for a solid year, two years maybe, she absorbs actually nothing. percy confers with sally like, "she still doesn't know how to chop an onion, i've shown her that like five times," and sally's like oh hm how strange. and annabeth's search history is all "why is it hot when my boyfriend cooks" and "cooking aprons for boyfriends" and "is food like love"
