My reaction to the tonight’s episode of OUAT (SPOILERS):

Ok so I have been a really long time fan of the show.

Hands down, the show is nowhere near what it was back when it began obviously. The only reason I still watch it is because of my love of the characters and because I want to see where they will go.

So let’s begin:

From what I understand (i may not even be right bc this show makes no fucking sense), Hook wanted to get the Dark Ones back from hell so he can destroy Rumplestiltskin. First up, why the fuck is this necessary? Rumple is not only no longer the Dark One, he has no fucking powers. He is literally mortal. Hook can literally backhand him and he would be dead. Why the fuck does he need all the Dark Ones for this?

And then I thought about Emma. He wants to take revenge on Emma for making him into the Dark One. She did this out of LOVE. She didn’t want to lose him and if Hook had the same choice, I’m sure he would have done the same thing. And apparently by bringing the darkness back in him, it awakened his thrist to kill Rumple. WHY IS KILLING RUMPLE EVEN RELEVANT ANYMORE I DON’T UNDERSTAND.

On a positive note, I thought the whole ‘marking the person who will take your place in the underworld’ was really clever bc I’m 99% sure that’s how it works.

So as Emma is trying to fix things, her parents (the people who have fought relentlessly from season to season to keep their family together) decide to give up. I understand they have renewed faith in Emma but are they fucking serious? So much for character development.

Since they gave up, Emma decided to take matters into her own hands and “absorb all the Dark Ones” power and die. What the fuck does that even mean? Doesn’t it mean that she’ll just have all that power and won’t die from it? Where does the death part even make sense? But trust me, it’ll be more fucking confusing at the end of this post.

Emma gets the sword. She goes to use it but Hook beats her to it. Takes the sword from her and yeah okay I get it.

Then at the end, as they’re all about to go to hell, “Nimaway” stops Emma from attacking Hook by choking her. Apparently, this wakes up some force in Hook and snaps him the fuck out of whatever the hell he was in. And as a result, he absorbs all the Dark Ones into the sword and has to hold it long enough for Emma to stab him with. So it’s not a PERSON who would absorb the darkness it was the dagger. But that stll doesn’t make any fucking sense because Emma stabs Hook with it in the most dramatic way possible (and the saddest bc yes i cried my fucking eyes out). This somehow removes all the darkness from the fucking picture and Emma has her hair back (which was a shame bc I liked the new look) and Hook still has that little scratch on his neck that SOMEHOW kills him (btw if Hook hadn’t been scratched, NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE FUCKING HAPPENED).

Now I KNEW that when Hook was killed, something changed in Rumple bc of his face after it happened. It looks like he got bumped up the asshole with a bit of dark magic and SOMEHOW he is the Dark One yet again.

Which brings me to my final shitty point about the finale:

How the FUCK is he the Dark One again? It literally made aboslutely no fucking sense. He got the sword, sprinkled some fucking magic on it, which would SOMEHOW use the person being stabbed as a current for the dark magic to transport through and enter RUMPLESTILTSKIN of all people. WHY? I DON’T CARE IF HE’S THE DARK ONE AGAIN OR NOT. WHAT MADE THE DARK FORCES OF THE UNIVERSE CHOOSE HIM. WHERE IS THE LOGIC? OH WAIT, it’s magic. That’s right. Stamp the fucking ‘m’ word on anything and BOOM, money well spent on a midway season finale.

So now Emma plans on going to hell to save her boyfriend. This makes sense and I am okay with this. What I am not okay with is that SHE’S BRINGING THE FUCKING ENTOURAGE WITH HER. I can understand maybe one, or two, people. But NOOO. She’s bringing her entire family AND her son. No wonder, they’re getting into all these awful situations, it’s because they can’t see where their fight ends.

“Hmm, maybe it’s not a good idea to bring my son to hell with me.”

“Hmm, maybe it’s not a good idea for my wife and I to go to hell with the possibility that we couldn’t be coming back and leaving our less than one year old son in this world.”

I mean, logic, people.

Alright, now that my rant for this episode is now complete, I’d just like to say that although I am left confused, annoyed, and angry at this mid season finale, I’m actually really curious about what comes our way in March.

So they’re going to hell. Which for them is like the Anti-Storybrooke and where all the people who died in the first few seasons are coming back. I’m actually super pumped about this for a number of reasons.

One, we get to see Peter Pan again. I may be letting my hormones get to be but OHMIGOD HE’S ATTRACTIVE. And plus, I love Robbie Kay as an actor so that’s exciting.

Two, I want to see Regina react to seeing her parents again. Most importantly her Father because who doesn’t want to see them reunite.

Three, there is potential for seeing faces we never thought we’d see again. Like the witch from Hansel and Gretel, Graham (maybe??), and someone I REALLY REALLY want to see....

Neal.

Imagine that. That would make for a really heart-wrenching plot twist and I know these writers can’t resist that opportunity. I don’t know if Neal would be in hell but if he was, what if they wanted to bring him back too? Now I don’t think, even magically-speaking, it’s possible to divide a heart into 3 and have them in some polyamorous relationship so if it came down to it, Emma would have to make a choice.

And that’s what I’m hoping for in the next half of the season. But as usual, I will keep my expectations low and whatever is left of my heart guarded for March.
