a summary of the show

━ ━ * ♡ adjusting to living on her own had been difficult for yeeun, who had grown up in a household where she was barely a second alone. being used to having most of the things done for her for almost her whole life the transition from her old life to her new was still a little bit of a bumpy road and she was glad that there were people out there who were willing to help her out a little. and although she felt bad for wasting their time, at times like today, where she’d stand in front of the new looking washing machine ( she actually had since she moved in but never bothered to use because it was more convenient to just leave it to the local laundry service ) in complete despair when she noticed soap suds spilling out from it. not knowing what to do, she rushed to her neighbor next door, knocking at the door at least ten times, the panic already having taken over her. “ sanghyun ?” she shouted in front of his door, hoping that her neighbor would help her out again.

◜         ° • *        ♡        / despite being the youngest of three, sanghyun had always helped his mother with ouse work growing up. his sisters had hated doing dishes, doing laundry, cooking and other typical housework, but sanghyun liked it. his mother always found ways to make the chores fun whether it be listening to music and dancing along or telling him stories about her travels, it was always something he’d looked forward to. now that he lived on his own it wasn’t as enjoyable to do these tasks on his own but he still had fun. maybe that’s why he’d offered to help his neighbour with her housework and other things. she obviously came from money and had no idea what she was doing. over the past month he’d showed her how to do several different tasks, trying to make it enjoyable for her like his mom did for him. 

so when he heard a frantic knocking at his door, he wasn’t worried like he’d normally be if there were noises coming from the door. he’d tried to convince yeeun to try doing something on her own and by the sounds of it, it didn’t do so well. he quickly made his way to the door, and opened it. ❝ hey, hey, calm down. whats wrong, noona? ❞

    matt wasn’t one to make big romantic gestures, seeing as he never had a boyfriend or girlfriend, but his move to korea must’ve changed something in him. maybe it was because he no longer had to hide his interest in boys, or maybe it was because this boy in particular was extremely good looking, but matt found himself spending an extra 10 minutes on his hair before his shifts, just to look good for him. after working up the courage to ask sanghyun out, matt couldn’t help but go all out for their date, since this was his first date ever. 

       he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t counting down the seconds minutes until the end of his shift, and as soon as he saw the big digital clock turn to 12:00, matt looked up to see sang approaching him. his cheeks turned bright red, and he looked down quickly to hide his blush, pretending he was only taking off his apron. “yes i am,” he walked around the counter and met the boy on the other side. “first: the bookstore.” matt desperately wanted to reach down and hold sang’s hand, but he knew it’d be too soon. the two boys made their way down the street to the nearby bookstore, talking about their days, hands brushing against each others every few minutes. “here we are,” matt announced when they arrived outside the bookstore. “there’s a section in the back that has couches and pillows where we can lay down.” blushing yet again, he offered one hand to his date, while the other opened the door for them.

◜         ° • *        ♡        / being with matt felt easy, almost as easy as being with jaewon, but not quite. there was still an awkward feeling surrounding them, obvious to sanghyun. but it was okay, first dates were always slightly awkward no matter what you do. sanghyun just politely pretended that he didn’t notice the way that matt would get flustered and stumble over his words every time their hands brushed while walking. he totally wouldn’t take advantage of this and do it on purpose, not sanghyun, hes an angel. 

when they finally arrived at their apparent first destination, a cute local bookstore, sanghyun lit up completely. it had been so long since he’d been to a bookstore, let alone a small one like this. they always felt so calm and homey to him and used to spend almost all of his free time in them. he’d pick out photo books of fashion shows and spend hours studying the looks and getting inspiration for his own designs. now, he doesn’t have too much time to do that, far to consumed with his own job to do things that he enjoyed. now though, a rare moment of peace and he got to spend it with someone he liked and in a place he loved. excitedly, he took matt’s hand into his and pulled the boy into the store. ❝ this place is so cute! do you come here often? ❞ he asked, dragging matt towards the back of the store so they could sit down read: cuddle and talk.

“ busy, primarily. ” kit shot back with a grin. the man was cute in a quiet sort of way; tucked up at the bar by himself like he might have thought the solitude nice. or maybe he was the type to come bar crawling along just to watch the throng jitter. either way, he seemed easy enough to talk to. “ or well, the last two hours have been. this plays crawls around open. which is advice, i guess, if you’re trying to get in and out by yourself. ” and absently, kitaek both hoped that he was and wasn’t. because as nice as it would be to flirt until he was off the clock, it wasn’t wise for the other to drink alone. but off the bat, the other didn’t seem the type to drink recklessly anyways. which, unspoken and assumed as it might be, gave him comfort. “ i’m kitaek. can i get you a drink ?”

◜         ° • *        ♡        / ❝ thanks for the advice, i’ll be sure to pass that on to my friends. ❞ sanghyun said with a slight nod towards the decent sized group dancing by the speakers. despite how much fun they seemed to be having, sanghyun much preferred where he was. plus, having a cute boy to talk to made it much better. he looked almost ethereal in the dim lights of the bar, easily drawing sanghyun’s attention right back to him and away from watching his friends. ❝ sanghyun. ❞ he smiled shyly, ❝ i don’t usually get drinks from strangers but i guess i can make an exception. something sweet please. ❞
